This channel and Proko are the two best channels for learning the Andrew loomis method, they are interactive, easy to follow and gives me assignment ideas
Hey man, I know this is an old video, so you might not read this, but this is the best of all the instructional art videos! I`m not as fast in drawing as you, but since you explain the whole process first, I`m able follow along at my own pace and I don`t have to pause the video every time I want to draw a line.
well thank you for this video I have just got into trying to draw for the first time and with being in my 50s did not have a clue how to draw anything but I want to do portraits and I even brought the Andrew Loomis book but still could not get me head around the different views. I have to say I am glad that I have found this video as when you see someone doing this it makes it a bit easier to understand but I will need to practice this over and over again to hopefully remember. as I watch this video I was drawing with you couple of times I had to pause it as I was not quick in drawing the circles so I will have to practice on that to as it is not easy. so again I appreciate what you have do with this video and I will come back to this a lot more.
Thank you again for such warm and informative instruction. Your generosity and that calm cool voice is getting me through any anxiety and keeping my eyes and my focus on my goals. It is a truly exciting experience! Thank you doesn’t seem near enough but all I can say is that it is deeply heartfelt.
I’ve recently watched 5 to 6 different artists (highly popular/subscribed to) who claim to use the Loomis method, and you’re the only one that actually follows it as he teaches. Congratulations.
This is so helpful. Especially helps me to learn how to learn. Lots of gratitude. And it helps that you keep saying which part you are marking. I think it is a highly effective way to study. If any newbie does this exercise a 100 times, I guess there will be huge improvement. Please do more of these videos, the studies from Andrew Loomis books. Thank u and good day.
Thanks again for the great educational video. I'm glad you mentioned that it is important to read the book itself because most people don't do that and then they miss some important info.
I learn more when the video is played at normal speed. Thanks! Some artists almost always use time lapse, and when I try to do the same, I find myself moving my hand like the time lapse video which is not good.
I am 53 years old, a makeup artist and just got my first set of pencils and sketchpad. I enjoyed this video wry much. I sunned and rang the bell ;D Please keep them coming! I pooped out on makeup after a few years and really want to draw now. Thanks agoin. I also am enjoying learning all the terminology!
i had dropped drawing for around 20 years, I am happy I have chance to see ur video, as a great artist, you are still learnings, it gives me a lot of motivation, thank you , really
enjoy your videos. hope to see more. im a truck driver. been studying andrew loomis for awhile. do a lot of drawings on down time in my semi truck. im hoping maybe u can give me tips, so i can do better.
Fantastic video. Thanks so much for doing this. Gave me the confidence to give it a try. Lots to learn but practice, practice, practice. Thanks for the push and inspiration. (p.s. love the rhythm lines)
Who are these idiots who give thumbs down? Amazing video Bradwynn I can praise you enough. You are an inspiration. I promise once I will have more subs I will send you more traffic you deserve more views. Cheers!
Did you ever do Barque cast style drawings (and paintings with a limited palette of such casts (black, white, burnt umber I guess)? Just wondering as quite a lot of ateliers seem to really swear by that traditional approach as the foundation of drawing and painting.
Great instruction! I am stumped by some of the remarks here! Why would someone buy a book to learn and not read it when books are for reading? Toddlers thumb through books to see pictures. When did people past the age of five just view pictures?
bonjour merci pour cette video qui super et geniale dommage que je n'ai pas la traduction en legende comme certaines autres videos anglaise . bonne journee
Stupid question...when the head is tilted down, as in the 3rd study, shouldn’t the ‘thirds’ be bunched up towards the chin, instead of keeping them equal?
Tbh, you started using the Loomis skull construction but you added the rest of the features using the Reilly method. Hence the idea : You shouldn't choose either one of them, you should use both all together!
Thanks for posting this. I have a question about Watts Atilier School. Did you do the outline program? If so, did you have your own on-on-one teacher? Thanks.
Man...I love your channel and your commentaries ! I was wondering, do you have any advice (or exercises) to learn to draw with the shoulder? Sometimes, it's too tempting to give up and draw with the wrist...I guess I have to accept that my drawings may be ugly while I learn ...
I adore your Loomis Head demos. It helps me a lot. I had already drawn these heads alone from my part, but sometimes I have got lost in lines or was not certain of their roles or location. Thank you very much for your help. P. S. : Please, dont stop drawing "all these crazy rhythm lines ". They are very relevant and add to the examples of Loomis.
Hi Bradwynn thanks a lot for these videos they're all so helpful. I was wondering how you studied lighting and shadows? I find it to be the hardest topic for me in art
I'm like master lvl with reference pictures but when I try to do the same character over and over in different angles, specially mg original characters, everything just sucks^^
This channel and Proko are the two best channels for learning the Andrew loomis method, they are interactive, easy to follow and gives me assignment ideas
I really enjoyed this, no condescending attitude, no super long intro, just straight into the teaching

Thank you very much for the video! I saw Loomis head+ Reilly rhythms are a good combination, together they look really pleasant.
One of the best instructional on RUclips.
Oh wow! 🙏 thank you much!
The seagull reference made me chuckle but it is such a great tip!

Thanks again for the great educational video. I'm glad you mentioned that it is important to read the book itself because most people don't do that and then they miss some important info.
the ''classicness'' of Andrew loomis and bridgman is one of my personal favourite thing to appreciate this day ~~~♡♡♡
I learn more when the video is played at normal speed. Thanks! Some artists almost always use time lapse, and when I try to do the same, I find myself moving my hand like the time lapse video which is not good.
