In my opinion, he is the closest to being a villain in the DSMP, because, unlike someone who people consider a villain without thinking much into it, you actually get to see his PoV, and he doesn't really have any other reason for it other than he wants power. Not many look at why Dream did anything, but they brand Dream as a villain since Wilbur had a silver tongue.
