You can definitely see the pre-F40 design touches here. Lovely!
made by the same engineer
Infact is the same car
@@MrVideogiocatore96 not quite
@@MrVideogiocatore96 Not at all. Direct lineage and predecessor but not the same car.
@@fetusofetuso2122 basically they detuned and made it road legal .
Only real car enthusiasts would appreciate this gem of a monster.
A face only a mother could love
This was a beast...the mother of F40 with more powerful!
He probably chunks the gears in McDonald's drive thru
Materazzi's baby...the greatest of all times
what a super duper RARE TREAT!! THANK YOU!! ❤
"don't let anybody through the cones, i don't care who it is", i've never wanted to smack somebody in the mouth so badly in my life as much as this guy. he definitely pays for sex.
I doubt that guy can even race his paraplegic mother. Unless of course he rides her...
PGR 3 introduced me to this wicked supercar.
Same here. I ADORED THAT GAME AS A KID😭
And PGR4...
the missing link from 288 GTO to F40.
308 GT/M too
Great video!
Very rare, fantastic!!
the mother of F40
From the side shot at 3:14 it almost looks like a more blunt, less round Porsche 959. Aerodynamics I suppose, or I'm just crazy. I love the lifting front right tire at 4:10. What a crazy, beautiful car.
We'll both were ready for group B Rallye before FIA axed it.
@@RevengeAvenger that would make sense, both companies adhering to the same racing rules and technologies of the time.
A truly ludicrous car.
wow the front passenger wheel @ 4:06 does not touch due to the ramp... damn strong frame
I noticed that, too. This is a pure race car. Build for a single purpose.
Meravigliosa!
The only Ferrari I'd want more than this is the 330 P4
The real question... How old is that rubber?
Built to race Group B rallyes. Unfortunately, like the 959, never had the chance to do it. What a pity
Warming it up is half the fun.. I would REALLY like to see this thing driven in anger!
This is actually faster than the f40, at 225mph top speed
And the f40 lm is faster than this
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts who gives a flying fuck about top speed, that’s not what this is for. IT HAS 750 bhp from a 2.9L V8 IN 1985!!!!!!!!!!! Who gives a shit about top speed
thats isnt are the lees collector?
The Ferrari 288 GTO evoluzione, what a monster, a masterpiece beauty design prestige Scuderia Ferrari
4:17 that rear body panel for the engine dont look like its slotted in the upward facing teeth alignment properly .. looks like the seam is uneven compared to the left.
Nice meeting you today! -Alex
Nice meeting you and chatting with you too. Hope to see you again at future meets.
Keep your modern supercars, I’ll have this beauty all day over any of them!
You said Paul ! 🤩
It’s amazing but it’s not a beauty, even pini said it was ugly
This is not a supercar. This is a racecar.
@@nodo7575 no one said it was a supercar… it’s not a race car either, it was built as a rally car.
Realized by Ing. Nicola Materazzi. He was the father of the F40 and the Lancia Stratos.
2:29 Action!
At 3:35, sets off a car alarm 😆 At 4:30, into the undercover parking garage, set off some more car alarms 😆 Great rare car, but on the basis of appearance, I'd prefer the "regular" 288 GTO 😁
Look at 4.09 the chassis/damper is so rigid that the front right wheel does not touch the ground when he start going down the garage ramp at an angle....!!!...
This morning, when I searched for the scenery I saw in my dream based on the information "Ferrari" and "280", I found the same car.
2:30~エンジンスタート♪
this car could won all the championship and le mans in 80'
The front doesn't look right. Did they remove the front ground effects for better ground clearance.
0:35, "Just don't let anyone through the cones. I don't care whom it is.!"
Niki Lauda included? 😁

This was supposed to be a rally car?
#DavidLee 's car?
After this one came the F40 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Probably the rarest Ferrari ever? 5 total built? I wonder if you can even put a price tag on it?
Feledwards not the rarest, there have been a few custom one-offs(Ferrari P4/5, and the Pininfarina Mythos comes to mind). But this is definitely not something you're gonna see 2 of in your lifetime lol
F50 gt rarer to , 3 built I think?
Gorgeous car. Unfortunate prick of a renter though.
No way can you rent that car
lol!
Bet Doug Demuro wishes he had one of these!
3:33 it sets off a car alarm when not near the car lol
I love how rough it looks, a Gto that received a brutal surgery to sacrifice everything about itself for speed, it’s not good looking and it doesn’t bother to be. Those side “windows” look like you could snap them and the body panels aren’t properly aligned.
Not to sure about the spoiler but lovely car. 288 GTO one of my all time favourites. F355 hard top manual is my favourite car but damn the maintenance is a kick in the balls.
Kinda gives me the F40 LM (Competizione) vibes tho which is really cool imo!!!
Doesn't that belong to David Hingwalee?
Yup ! 1of5 should be in a museum but He a real car guy he drives his
+Meyer Lanski cars are meant to be driven not looked at. The point of beautiful cars is to enjoy the shit out of them regardless of their money value
If that's him in the video then he's a fucking jerk with a bad attitude
@@cavdragoon That’s not him
0:29 Looks soo good!
And that sound..wow!
Modern race cars suck!

THATS THE FERRARI SOUND
Such a beautiful and crazy creation, good for 225mph in '86
That's David lee's
Fn cones? you cones around those around your shorts lol
Looks the Bollocks
the wing is nasty!
4:08 ?????????????? :| la rueda. The wheel
The car is simply very stiff and have little or almost no spring traveling at all, just like a true race car :). The right wheel is hanging in the air at that very moment.
Don't let anyone through the cones!
He just taking care of David Lee car
the original 288gto looks way better
+龍門陣 Agreed, but it's simply a testbench and interim version between the GTO and the F40, which is obvious to see. Too bad there are so few of them around, 4 or 5 I presume. One was standing about 10 years ago in a museum here in the Netherlands somewhere but I don't know if it moved.
+龍門陣 True, but without this car (288 Evoluzione) the F40 never would have been developed.
Looks better, but this example has wider wheel track. Better for high speed turning. Also , Longitudinal engine placement, unlike the original 288. In essence , the difference is the nose. Also the hatch, but this is a minor.
This one resembles more with the F40 then with the GTO...
The 288 GTO has also a longitudinal engine placement...
The best next thing before the F40 followed..
Not sure it's the next best thing. This has a lot more power.
Of it wasn't for this there would be no f40 , this is better
SIR ENGINEER NICOLA MATERAZZI FECIT , R.I.P. MISTER F40
3 built, not 5
Is that rarer than a F40?
yes but still looks nasty
stewart humphreys Sort of its more rare than a F40 LM but it's not rarer than the stock F40's
MilkMustashh Gaming what? yes the 288 is rarer than the 19 LM's made. And it's much rarer than the standard f40. there's only 5 of these. Ferrari built over a thousand f40s. making even the regular 288gto much rarer and more valuable.
there's also the f-40 competizione, the comp is 690bhp and the lm can go as high as 760bhp... group B cars were crazy but they started a crazy kind of power war. most of the limited editions are much faster the new supercars (old cars weighed nothing) the stock porsche 959 was 444hp but on order you could ask for the optional 523hp which was 209mph, the 959 S was 515bhp and it hit 211mph at nardo in late 86 and finally (though not even close) lol.... the 1988 american spec 959 put down 575 hp and 540 lbs-ft of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph was now made in 3,2 seconds, while the speedometer showed an incredible 220 mph - they were made legal in the usa by canepa and they easily boosted it to uh meet emissions back than however backwards and that was the gen 1. the gen 2 was 640hp and gen 3 760hp lol. www.topspeed.com/cars/porsche/1988-porsche-959-s-ar84907.html explains it. i can provide other links.... but this turned out way too long. and didnt have too much on the f-40 (sorry)
@@chadc.5326 actually the Michelotto prepared F40 LM's could make close to 900HP running without restrictor plates and full boost cranked up for qualifying laps. Capable of 245 mph too. They ran about 750HP with the restrictor plates on for a full race. The 959S and F40LM 2 titans of automotive performance history! Incredible cars that set the benchmark.
This car eventually became the F40.

THE ORIGINAL FERRARRI F40 2.9 L V8 90 V TWINTURBO 487 HP -550 HP
It’s like a 288GTO and F40 had a baby...
The F40 exists only because of this car. It's not known why they were ever built (288 GTO Evoluzione). It was not a street car, nor did it ever race. It wasn't homologated for any race series, however it was the test bed for the F40.
This is pre F40, and you can clearly see how they got to the final design of the F40.
@@alexandereverhart654 This car was made for group B cirquit racing, but the series never took off like the rally counterpart did. The roadgoing 288 was made to satisfy the 200 required cars for the road according to the rules.
una bestia..
Ferrari only made five off these right???
yes
Old ferrari designed cars are way more desirable that today super car's only the la Ferrari and 458 italia are good looking .
Yeh absolutely , last 2 ferraris I liked were the 458 and 599 gto . Haven't liked any since , including the laferrari , not sure why but I just don't like it .

I should've stayed. lol
What a f...mean!!!
Anyone else hear the accident at 2:19?
the regular version looks better
This is a "laboratory" car, it was not intended to be pretty. It's pure savagery!
Too dangerous to live, too rare to die.
RiP group B
Is that the owner yelling at the guy to "not let anyone behind the cones"? Got it costs a fortune, and it's worth TONS. Doesn't mean you have to be douche. Don't want it touched, keep in the garage.
Right.
Wrong, you don't touch peoples cars without permission. Do you go to car shows and touch people's cars without permission? No. That's rude as hell. He's far away in a corner, not on a busy street.
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnouts true i agree but that still doesn't excuse the guy being an ass still could have been bit more polite plus he should have a rope barrier etc i saw a merc lemans car in a local museum you could not get anywhere near it probably nearly as much as this since only 3 i believe were made of that.
@@RidinDirtyRollinBurnoutsthe way he said it
F40 ante litteram.
I loved the 288 because it wasn't over the top - this is just plain ugly!!!
Piss on your cones. Tool. Also the Chinese jeweler probably owns it, as most do.
It`s one of five (plus the prototype so six) existing Ferrari 288 GTO Evo`s and everyone gets their panties in a twist because the guy tells them not to let anyone behind the cones as in close to the car. It`s one of the RAREST Ferraris, ofcourse you don`t want butterfingered idiots near it
its def missing on at least 2 cls.
Fiero with a bodykit......
0:14 - 0:24 : you can hear an Aventador! LOL
1977 -1978 FERARI F288 GTO EVO 2.8 L V8 90 V TT THATS ALL FERRARIS SHULD SOUND
From a pure looks standpoint............sorry, but this is not attractive at all. The standard 288 GTO is significantly better looking. The front end looks like it's from an old Chevy Monte Carlo. I must laugh at all the comments.......beautiful, gorgeous, etc. Those comments are proof positive that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Oh well, 'tis what it 'tis!
The f40 is a beautiful car, but I have to say this is the ugliest Ferrari probably ever made, in my opinion .
it sounds great though !
It's not an f40, it's a 288.
+caleb potter to be fair, this is the inbetween stage.
Front end is pretty beat
+Hateif Youwant This was a race car, not a road car. Although it never actually got to race. It is because of this car that the F40 was developed. These (288 GTO Evolutizione) became the test cars for the F40.
Very ugly compared to the original 288GTO.
NAAAAAA! DOESN'T LOOK NICE AT ALL. GTO 288 AND F40 BOTH HAVE DIFFERENT CLASS AND LOOKS AND BOTH ARE VERY VERY EXOTIC CAR SHAPES.
You don't understand the purpeous of this car. It has been built to race, not to be beautiful
doesnt matter how you look at it Carroll Shelby kicked Enzo's ass many times on the track. Lest we forget.
Yeh it's ugly but it's function first
the world most expensive car soon. only 5 was made!!! disqualified from racing for being to fast!!!
it wasn't disqualified. it couldn't race because group b was cancelled before it got to race.
it would have been a pretty cool rallye car tho
