I found my old Rugrats VHS, put it in and discovered some old ads for Nickelodeon, which used to be one of the greatest networks on television. There were three of them and I aimed a digital camera at the TV and recorded them. I usually prefer a direct recording by plugging the VHS into the computer or something instead of pointing a camera at a TV, but it was my only option and seemed to work fine. You don't even see the TV, unlike some other record-the-TV-screen videos on RUclips.

At 13,you are apart of "New Nick"Teen or Not.Any one born 1996 and up,is apart of the New Nick as your still young and remember litttl from the old days.
i was born in 95, but many of those shows were still playing, i remember them to a degree, i dont remember evry single episode, but i watched alot of them

I`m 10 now,but still remember watching those old shows.Angry Beavers the most,I think I remember some Catsratch when it was still on...I remember Hey Arnold even though I didn`t like very much.
I only watch Nicktoons these days for MY FAVORITE SHOW AND THE MOST EPIC ONE IN THE WORLD,Invader Zim.I didn`t watch it on TV,found it through the internet one day and I easily got obsessed.

dude i agree so much in like 2001 they completely started removing all the good stuff and all the shows now its crap i miss this sooooooooooooo much and im 13 and i will staill watch all this cuz i miss it so much i miss this badly :(

@littlekidnumberone I know, right! I didn't think about recording stuff back then, and now I regret it so much. We had a VCR and plenty of blank tapes, I don't know why nobody in my house ever recorded some Nicktoons.

90 shows are back on air on teen nick now. 12am-4am
i know that there is the nicktoons network but they should put that channel in the line-up with all the other regular channels or they can form with nickelodeon and make a "Classic Nicktoons" block every week day from like 4 until nick at nite comes on and they do the same from like 5 until nick at nite comes on
All I know is...with the splat logo nixed, the classic "nick nick nick nick-e-lodeon" jingle gone, the Orlando Studios (home of Guts, Clarissa, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Double Dare, Hidden Temple, & others) taken apart, the trademarked Snick orange couch auctioned off to the highest bidder, & Klasky-Csupo (maker of 'Rats/AGU, HA!, Thornberrys, Rocket Power, etc.) pretty much bankrupt nowadays...the former first kid's network now solely seems to promote to tweens whilst its classics rot away.
really? like what. spongebob came out in 99 and its going strong in 2009

i thought the actualy movie came out in 99 yea those are decent, they stopped filming drake and josh, but they still play it.

yeaa lawlz they dont show jimmy neutron, and i think tht was in 1999 so technically tht doesnt count, one show i miss alot, RUGRATS it was soo fun :D

So would bringing back the old shows, because they've all ended & aren't going to ever make new episodes, unless Nick denies to remake them in the modern style, which would ruin the memories people have of the original and make the respective franchise look bad (ex: the upcoming live-action Fairly OddParents film).

Spongebob, Penguins, & TUFF Puppy would disagree. But seriously, though the 2000s did have rare gems admist the junk, most of it was garbage compared to the originals programs on all the networks. Now, it's either reality TV, adult programing that's insulting, tweenybop brainwashing drivel, or poorly-written excuses that dare call themselves cartoons. People actually cared back then, unlike now, where money is the thing.

I was thinking the same thing! I had this bumper randomly stuck in my head today so I decided to look it up; it seems even Nickelodeon was getting into the 90's ska craze. Think about Kablam, the opening theme was an instrumental remake of The Toasters' Two Tone Army. Ah, childhood...

I'm 16 and i miss these shows so much They should add a channel called Nickelodeon Classic (similar to ESPN Classic) where they show classic Nickelodeon shows from the 1980's and 1990's like Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, Doug, and many others. That would totally blow Nickelodeon right out of the water and all the children who weren't around for all those shows in the 1990's can experience these shows and know how Nickelodeon really was before all the crap that ruined Nickelodeon.

i remeber watching these growning up the shows now adays on nick cant compare to the 90's shows im only 18 and it's crazy that i know can say i remember when cartoon network was all cartoons and nick was still called nickelodeon

jojo: Being 25, I'd agree with him. You may have seen the shows in reruns, but unless you actually lived through the 80's & 90's can you say that you truly know those decades.
Spongebob is the last of the original nicktoons that included rugrats, doug, hey arnold, etc.
you forgot about nicktoons. they have all the old ones on it for the people who miss those old cartoons.
Seriously, outside of reruns of past shows, anime, CN's existence, & the WWE's Attitude Era, 1998 was the kick-start to entertainment's fall-out, with the debuts of "reality TV", the arrival of Elmo's World to Sesame Street, the return to TV of immature "adult" slop like Family Guy, the creation of both Dora & Spongebob on Nick in order to oust the greatness that had existed before & overshadowing what few gems were made later, & Disney's Z00G stuff starting the teenybop trend.
oh i miss the old nickelodeon. :( so sad, and what's even more sad is that i only got to see rocko's modern life and ahhhhh!!! real monsters a couple times before they were cancelled. :'( and i didn't even get to see invader zim due to the fact that it came on past my bedtime..... :( haha wow......
they show rugrats on weekends now XD I record them because I never have a chance to watch them!

Real Monsters, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, The Amanda Show, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, CatDog, Double Dare, GUTS, Hey Arnold!, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Rocket Power, The Ren & Stimpy Show, Rocko's Modern Life Rugrats, and Salute Your Shorts on Monday July 25th
aaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwww, i remember getting up on Saturday and watching the Rugrats and Hey Arnold:( then i would watch Kim Possible on Disney............i want the old shows to some back soooooooooooooo bad!!:(

This is because Nick has a license agreement with Dreamworks (the film company behind Madagascar, but ironically, also the same CGI-based company made by one Steven Spielberg of E.T & Jurassic Park directoral fame, who produced the Silver Age Kid's WB shows [ex: TTA, A!, P&tB, F!, and H!] as well, before stupid WB executive Jamie Kellner gutted & killed what it meant to be a Warner-animated show in the 90's).

I wish I would have kept all my videocassettes. I've been feeling a bit nostalgic today and have spent a few hours watching old Disney animated movies, and now I'm on to my old Nickelodeon favorites. I feel so old, and I was only born in '95. I wish it were possible to resurrect these shows and get rid of these pointless, crappy ones of today.

they do have a channel kinda like that... it's called nicktoons network but they show crappy shows..every once and a while you'll catch a old skool show like rocko,ren & stimpy or cousin skeeter
i ment when it started getting lower ratings, cuz spongebob came out, not cuz it began in 99, they made it for a few more years, now they barley air it anymore :-\

@jasbb2: I mean sure, Elmo was around in the 80's, but what I am speaking of regarding him is that insufferable Elmo's World segment spawned by the popularity of--to quote Oscar--the little red menace in 1996 via the equally annoying Tickle-Me-Elmo craze.

@jasbb2: No. Catdog and Angry Beavers came before him. Really, he was the catalyst who started the downward spiral to the crap we have now, just like Dora for Nick Jr. & Elmo for Sesame Street, which is ironic, as all three debuted--as did "reality TV" on primetime--the SAME year!
D: dvr is the best thing evar, i have twc but no dvr, when theres like 10 tvs in ur house its kinda hard to afford(big ass family xD)
