Hello sir , I'm like your all vedios ... I'm from Lehnda Punjab LAHORE... & My village (HAVELI LAKHA) near Indian border 32km door fazilka lgta hai, or sadq border 18km
I read Fazilka was the big junction of the are lines of Fazilka Amruka and Fazilka Hindumalkot were in operation. But operation stopped after partition and war. Thanks for information.
I think there is a mistake in saying that Fazilka was connected to Hindumal kot before partition. In fact Mandi Macleodganj road station was a junction station on Delhi Bhatinda ,Fazilka , Samsatta , Karachi route from where one line was going to Amruka , Chananwali and Fazilka and other to Qasamwala , Hindumal kot ,Abohar ,Malout , Gidderbaha and Bhatinda. I have acopy of railway time table copy of both routes of 1946. Mandi Macleodganj road was later renamed as Mandi Sadiqganj in the name of son of Nawab of Bahawalpur state Nawab Sadiq khan. The rail line to Qasim wala ,Hindumal kot on pakistan was dismentalted by Pakistan army after 1965 war fearing Indian army may invade into the pakistan through this line in future wars. Similarly aline which was running between Hussainiwala near Ferozepur to kasur in pakistan was totally dismetaled by Pakistan army in 1971 war as this area was captured by Pakistan army on the first day of 1971 war in westeren sector untill then this rail line was intact upto the checkpost of two countries. In wikipedia someone has mentioned that a rail line was running between Fazilka and Hindumal kot and was abandoned by India after 1965 war when pakistan has bombed a running train on this route. I have tried to acertain wheather a rail line between Fazilka and Hindumal kot was built by India after partition for defence purpose but failed to confirm it. But one thing is sure old Hindumal kot station was just on border line and new Hindumat kot station which is on Abohar Sriganganagar route has been reallocated and about three km away from old station but still close to indi pak border. Most of statkons on Sriganganar Suratgarh route are very close to Pakistan border and this rail line just runs parallel to indo pak border. The old Hindumal kot is now under BSF and houses its offices and barracks.
The small station on any route in fact are not called stations these are called Halts in rail language. These halts provide transport facility to mostly rural population and are on some times experimental basis / temporary basis and even abandondoned after some time . There are no signals or signal system , train just stops and goes after schduled stop. On some halts even no rail staff is posted . Some one from the villages provide tickets sale facility on contract basis for railways. If sale of tickets is commercialy viable and people use is sufficient these halts are coverted to regular railway stations of lower catagory and subsequently to higher catagories depennding on rail traffic.

Before partition of India in 1947 , Kotkapura Fazilka rail route was gateway to Karachi port but after partition it lost its glory.
