I have no words, thank you so much. My subs have gone up already in the last hour. I’m even starting to come around ‘T’ Darkside I mean PARKSIDE, great vid Rob thanks again mate. CHEERS
My pleasure mate, you have a channel that people need to hear about.. keep up the great work , glad to see you’re tempted to go T dark side 😂 cheers Rob
@@RobCarr-c9g I’m very lucky I know, and I never take it for granted. But it’s also taken a lot of hard work and sacrifice. Trick is to keep going, good look with it.
Great video Rob sorry am behind still haven't watched next one yet or the thermo gun i will though. The old to new will be with you this week hopefully 🤣🫡👍🏴
I’m in the US and love Lidl. Over the summer we pulled in the lot and there was a lone trolley in the lot and I saw something on the lower shelf of it and it was one of those brand new dolly’s! I took it home with me.
The plane is making a two note chord, a slightly flattened fifth i think, and with that sound and an appropriate drum track it would make a perfect support act for Kraftwerk if they ever tour again. Just thought I'd mention it. Good vid as always Rob.
Nice one Rob! That planer's a steal at that price! I paid £40 for the bare tool and £23 for the 4ah battery a year or so ago, and thought they were an absolute bargain then. Was using mine yesterday at my daughters place scribing in some infills for an alcove cabinet, it's the perfect size planer for that. 4ah battery gives it more oomph btw, it's not just a bigger fuel tank. 👍Cheers! P
Thanks Peter , WOW they have dropped in price 😮 I did wonder was it because they were having issues, but evidently if you are happy with yours.. enough said 😃 great call on the 4ah.. looks like I’m down back down lidl today, I love a good excuse 😂 Cheers Rob
Thanks Rob, I'm impressed with that little planer and it's about 1/10 the price of the Bosch, work that one out ! Enjoyed the Bantz with Brett too, Lol ! 😉🤣
Nice video. Probably a purchasing mistake I made was the Makita planar. Very little use, use the manual one more. Need to think what I will send along for the old/new. No RUclips channel yet, typically just dump on Instagram just to have it as a record. 😂😂😂
For the chamfer I am fairly sure you should use it on min as the groove is slightly closer to the blade. When you did your chamfer you were basically just planing on an angle, the chamfer is really just to take off the sharp edge unfiormly.
@WeekendShedHead best thing about my nearest Lidl (fort william) the middle is always stocked 😅 think i got a circular saw pizza cutter too and the bottle opener (which looks like the metal part from a wera bottle opener) anyway off to my toasty workshop in the forest (only toasty as I leave my diesel heater running) 😂 I get distracted by the views though and very little productivity 😂 take care Rob
Hey Rob......I must start to buy into these parkside tools...... Trouble is theres not one too near me.......but I will just have to make a trip of it I 'spose......thanks as always for the video....as usual your enthusiasm and presentation are captivating......by the way....I would suggest that imitation is one of the greater forms of flattery so the fact that Brett is doing impersinations is cool.....you need to reciprocate!
To be honest, this one is really good.. I give it an blast out with air every so often ( don’t know if that’s a good thing or not) but keeps going , cheers Rob
"Happened" to be in a Parkside shop last week. Found a sheet metal brake (a frame for folding sheet metal) at 38 Euro, that's 40% cheaper than the local ebay equivalent.
Everything maxrock said 👍 also, display regular used tools on cupboard doors (easy to grab) , units on castors, a flap through the wall if you haven’t got enough room to cut down lengths of wood. An Amazon echo.. for music and smart plugs to control lights.. vacs etc. I could go on.. but I’ve found a shop will evolve over time … I’m constantly changing things around , good luck ! Cheers Rob
@WeekendShedHead thanks pal I can take some of that on board but it's literally just a spare bedroom that I cleared out when my son moved out. If you saw it you'd just shut the door and put CRIME SCENE tape across the door 😅😅😅
Another spare bedroom shop here….11’x8’. 8’x2’ bench for machines across back wall. 6’x2’ assembly bench by window for good light…Problem is I bought a Evolution table saw and Lumberjack bench bandsaw. Add in storage boxes and a dozen DeWalt toys, and suddenly I can’t even assemble the table saw!!!
Sweating me arse off here in Qld, Australia. Hit 39°C yesterday prior to a massive storm coming through; wish it would snow here... We get Ferrex (Aldi) or Ozito (Einhell) at Bunnings, haven't seen any Parkside tools, but I don't go to Aldi after as it is way outta the way. Got a 2nd hand Bosch corded planer 2 weeks ago, $10AUD, new blades were $15
There’s a new version of the 12v plane in some of the EU online Lidls, hence the sell off. I like the 12v tools better than the 20s myself, and I have a few now.
Hi Rob, hope your well mate, Got more good stuff from Lidl Parkside, bargain on the battery and charger and 12v planer, nice...... I bought from Lidl was a pair of side cutters for £2.99 I'll go back for the long nose pliers at the same price, Frank from Franks Little workshop has done a review on these tools just recently. As always I enjoy your reviews mate and catch you soon, take care
I was one of the last Drivers in the day that Focus went down. I was delivering to Aberystwyth got told to turn around then got told to carry on and deliver. I was running out of time by the time I got back was well over my taco hours did about 17 hours. Everything was shut down. Nobody knew they stopped the next shift coming on at 10 o’clock at night. it was great or else it lasted was there about three years?
Love the videos. Please don''t think I'm being a smart ass. but you are wrong about the 4ah battery only giving longer run time The double current capacity will help the unit not to "bog down" when you are taking a deeper cut. But Keep it up!
@@WeekendShedHead I bought one as it had a square battery picture and I didn't look closely enough to see 12v and thought it was 20.... Still haven't got around to buying a battery for it so if they do have a design issue I may find it too late lol. Need to replace my 1/2 impact gun, the mechanics have survived but it drowned.... Water and PCB components don't mix. You would think as a tool for vehicles with oils and water everywhere the PCB would have got a protective conformal coating but 1 afternoon working outside in the rain and I'm 60 quid down.
Thanks for your opinion / experience.. . it’s all helpful, my experience and the limited use ive had for them.. I’ve found parkside to be good value for money.. but I’ve not used all the range , cheers
hey love the videos just thought would drop by as was in lidl today and picked up the rotary acc set 9.99 gbp it is great get loads of bits, sanding, cutting , drilling ect and as far as can tell so far compatible with dremel brand 🛠🪚🪛

That would be a handy planer to take to work to ease the occasional windows etc.
Good call .. it’s very compact 👍 cheers Rob
I picked up one of the planers before Christmas and it's been a brilliant piece of kit for my workshop build!

use some wax on the sole of plane, makes it slide better, tea light candles work great for that

Workbench at a good height
Comfy stool
Small TV
Overhead storage

I think you run the side of the machine against the edge of the timber. At least that's what I've seen in someone else's video Rob
Yeah I thought the same Steve, but it protrudes out .. and there is only a 17mm flat surface below 🤔 I need to relook into it 😂 cheers Rob
read distructions on how to rebate Rob its different to how you was trying m8. great vid again.
Thanks Steve .. I had a read but it didn’t really explain mate.. I’ll have a another look 😉👍 cheers Rob
