This was the first hiphop song ever I learned bar for bar. I was in lower secondary school and can still bust out this beast out whenever called upon. I think I could do every song from the Marshall Mathers LP to this day. It had such a huge impact on me. This plus Marilyn Manson who is named in this song was a huge part of my teenage years. I had blond hair like him one year and black with a blue tint the other year just like Eminem and Marylin Manson. I used to get bullied a lot at school but music like this made me fight back so hard that people would rarely try twice, and I owe a lot of that fight back and confidence to music like this. I am 5,2 feet "tall" now as an 37 year adult so imagine how hard it was being a child and teenager going to school every day.

Im just old 😢 this time along with other artist. Some was destroyed but this industry and some wasnt. 90's music was very popular but it likes to be forgotten because of the honest and talent

It’s crazy dude back in the day u really needed a label to blow up and get your music out there. The internet wasn’t really what it is today everyone got their information from the news and you know how much they like to create false narratives. He was like the first person in that era to truly go viral and experience a level of fame not many had before him especially as a rapper who came from nothing. He truly paved the way for expressing yourself and freedom of speech and proving that you are not what the media portrays you to be. He changed the world fr.

This opening will never leave my brain as long as I live. Some of the hardest raps he spit around this time.

Eminem is the dave Chapelle of music. Both can say whatever they want and demand things because the fan base is so large. They don't bow to the corporations like so many artists do, they both are their own bosses. And rely on us to support them. When you're the best in your craft you can do that

The term wigger was actually socially acceptable in the early 2000's. Idk when people stopped using it but I'd imagine it's really because Em made it OK to just be who you are without being labeled into a category. He wasnt the only one of course but he made such a huge impact on society from what it had been in the 90's but unfortunately people just went crazy with WANTING labels. LGBTQ community is a prime example of wanting to be labeled "correctly". Not saying it negatively but even if I was it's MY OPINION and im entitled to it! So 🤐 it.🤫

back in the day, if you were white from the hood/trailers and listened to hip hop.. you were a w*****r because you were expected to listen to hard rock. Chad Muska was a perfect example of this back in the day, dude got some much hate. Eminem was so polarizing because he crossed the barriers especially around the time this song came out, mainstream media was trying to blame Manson for the columbine shootings. Eminem came in defense of Manson and music in general.

You have to understand that back in the early 2000’s every thing eminem did was under a microscope. The president even had shit to say about him! I’m trying to think of someone else now a days and the only person I can think of Kanye…it was kinda the same thing.

The best comparison I can make to explain why he was so pissed at the time … basically imagine all the shit that the media throws at trump it was like that but worse , always protests wherever he went , the government tried to basically not let him be able to release any music it was fucking crazy
