Cracking loop, that rock chute you pre walked around 6:33 is no joke!! Freaked me out! The big decent 14:19 is epic, like you say good test of bike, tyres and rider! The flows decent at 17:07 was a dream. Loved it all.
Cheers mate. Yeah, agreed. The rock chute looks so tame in RUclips videos so it definitely takes you by surprise when you arrive at it! Thanks for the positive comment. It's really appreciated 👏
Absolutely stunning visual in this edit Jamie! It just looks amazing! Lindsey and I rode for the first time ever this weekend on the e-bikes. Fair effort on an analogue bike, brutal climbs! Very well Ridden, the descents had me a bit unsure with grip etc, I was backing off a bit for sure but you looked to be flying buddy!
Thanks Jon. The new lens and new drone helped! Also, I feel like I really lucked in with the lighting conditions. Sometimes all the variables just come together. I was feeling pretty confident on the day. I've made some suspension changes, and as you know, the tyres seem to have unlocked some speed for me. Glad you enjoyed it. Did you film when you rode there?
@ we did buddy! It should look very moody, we had full cloud inversions over the lakes, achingly beautiful in the clouds. Been meaning to ride it forever but as you saw it’s not very dog friendly and takes a fair amount of time up on an analogue bike! I thought it would make perfect first ride for Lindsey eeb and it certainly gave the battery life a good test with it being an SL. Great day! Should have edit ready around Xmas week. 👍
Cheers Joe! I hope you heard my wee shout out to you! It was lovely to watch your video before I did the ride. You were flying buddy! Hopefully ride with you again in the not too distant future 👌
I did thanks! You weren’t hanging about either especially for your first time down. Would be good to get a ride in, I may not have time for the videos anymore but I could possibly manage a cameo 😂
What a fab looking route Jamie. I did my first and only big route in the Lakes when I was on my way to visit you a couple years ago, and it was immediately clear that there are loads of possibilities for some epic rides like this. Thanks for taking us along 👍
Borrowdale bash is one of my all time favourites, we usually do it at least twice a year Higher tyre pressures are a must Glad you enjoyed the bash, great video
Excellent video Jamie, I've had this on my list for 4 years, ever since I first got in to MTB! About time I got it done! Thanks for the links in the 📌 🤘
Yeah, it's deffo jankier than the videos make out (including this one)! I felt like the tech was really just within my limits which was really nice to ride. I felt like I could push, whereas most mountain routes have me riding very conservatively. What a route 👏
@@streetpigeonmtb you rode really well. I was ok for the most part, couple of awkward sections but I was on the new bike too, so lots going on. Will be back for another go for sure 👍🏻
One of my absolute favourites. I've ridden the rocks on the Resting Stones section of the second main descent a good few times, but it doesn't get any less scary. My mate's dad used to farm around there and he reckons he could get a quad bike up that. Shepherds are nutters.
We did this in October on the XC bikes and loved it, but unfortunately the route we followed missed your fist climb and descent. We went along the road then up a tarmac climb. The rocky chute you pre walked was needing a pre walk - had to get off there - but the rest was amazing - some of it bone shaking, but a fantastic route.
Yup, I completely agree with you. It's a brilliant route with some good challenge if you need it! Thanks for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it 🙏
Great video and handy for me as I'm in the Isle of man and looking for locations to go snd ride In the UK this coning year and the Lakes is definitely an area I'm interested in with It being so close after getting off the ferry , drone footage looking mint aswell 👍 Out of interested have you ever Been over to the IOM to check out the riding options here ?
Hey man, it's great to hear from you. Really glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. I have never been to IOM at all. Is there some good riding?
@streetpigeonmtb hi yeah there is plenty here as weve planty of mountains & plantations ! I've only been riding a year and finding this out after living here most of my life !😂🤦♂️ I've seen some of the UK guys who come over for the eduro racing mention on there channels it's some of the best racing they do all year apparently 🤔 🙂 , big stoozer was here recently this year put a few good vids up on his channel 👍
Been a,long time since I rode the borrowdale bash. One drunk at midnight from seatolller to whatendlath (spelling probably so wrong) when i volunteered with the NT. Might need to ride it again. So much good riding in the lakes if you can link it alltogether
Great video Jamie...and thanks for the preamble about checking the legality of routes South of the border 👍👍this is a really great ride providing some of the best riding the Lakes has to offer. You definitely earned your right of passage by 'clearing' the crux section..well if Rich hadn't got in your way 🤣 If you like the chunky rocky stuff, have you considered inserts in your tyres, that would allow you to lower your pressures to get a lot more grip both on climbing and descending and still give plenty of protection against pinch flats 👍...maybe next time take the ebike and enjoy the 25% road climb and attempt to 'clear ' the rocky ascent out of Watendlath !!! Look forward to more of your rides 😊
Hey man. Thanks so much for taking time to comment. Yeah, I'm taking the crux as cleared 🤣 I've run inserts before and I'm not sure about them. I Iove the performance but I find them a bit of a faff. I think if I rode rock all the time might be persuaded, but honestly I'm just a fan of the feel of a heavy casing tyre. It sounds like I have lots of Lakes exploring still to do!
@streetpigeonmtb You definitely do and you can expect a lot more of the rocky stuff. Check out the Helvellyn ride from Glenridding with the descent back via Sticks Pass 👍👍I'm sure Rich will know it ..enjoy wherever you ride 😊🚵♂️
Great vid of a classic loop. Nicely pointed out on the legality of trail issues, worth pointing out that the first trail along Walla Crags has only just been legalised (based on evidence of years of use in cheeky status). Also, try the route on a rigid bike ;-)
The footage you’re getting is amazing. What’s camera & drone set up do you have? I’ve got DJI mini 4 pro & waiting on the action camera 5 to arrive. Looking forward to making amazing shots like yours!
Hey mate. Thanks for the feedback. The POV and talking head was shot on a DJI Action 5 Pro with the FOV boost lens and pro settings. The drone is the HoverAix ProMax. I have a Mini 4 Pro also which actually gets way better footage than the HoverAir, however I struggle to get reliable follow-me with it, and there is the issue of where to store the controller. Hope this info helps.
@MateuszR. Ah, I get you. It's probably lens distortion. I'm filming with a wide angled lens. It has probably made the bars look flat. They are the same bars 😁👍
Sorry as I know this is not the right place to ask my question, but I trust you and your subscribers knowledge on this. I have failed to find the relevant information online, hence I'm turning to you. Is there a MTB trail in Scotland that you can pull up to (if you pre-booked) and get bikes to rent while you are enjoying the trails? My brother and I will be up in the summer, but wont have bikes, hence I want something packaged all in one. Thank you if you could respond with suggestions.
Hi mate. It's a Bird Aeris AM. I made a video which explains a bit more about the Aeris AM: ruclips.net/video/kJ_q0W2UBOc/видео.htmlsi=YP3SusVdkNqQn-Gj
@solarrover9575 yeah, it's been great for that reason alone. I could've gone lighter by adding a Lyrik and lighter tyres, however I feel like I've still got a pretty do it all bike. It seemed to work well on this route 👌
Using footpaths as a racetrack should not be permitted in that lovely place, if you must ride these paths stay on the path and don’t erode grass and other fauna

Much as I like going to a bikepark occasionally this video confirms my preference that trail riding is for me.
Yeah, I'd have to say I'm with you. There is deffo a place for bikepark, but I love the more natural trails 👌

Absolutely stunning!❤ Awesome landscape. Was there - without bike - 22 years ago and absolutely loved Lake District!
That's awesome. Get yourself back there 👌
It’s my local trail and I never get tired of this one! What a classic MTB route 😊
I can see why. Some of the descending is about as good as it gets IMO 👌
@ Great videos buddy. 😊
Thanks Jason. Much appreciated 😁

@MindfulTrailBiker Nice! We can chat about it at the Christmas party 🥳
@ haha.. so ace that we’re doing that - love it!
Great video and footage, I remember dojng most of those trails in the late 1990’s on a Kona hardtail with 90mm travel pace forks. That was rough ! 😂
Ha ha. I bet matey! Fair play. I'm not sure I'd have the kahunas for that now!
Good to see you tackling a lakes classic! The drone adds a nice perspective of those descents too, the pov never does them justice haha

@@streetpigeonmtb Looks good. Sorry I couldn't come along. Man-flu and all that!! Lets go back next year though :)
@ravensoutdoor you were missed my man. We should deffo hit it up though. I think you'd love the descents.
That's brought back some great memories of completing this ride about 5 years ago. Love the arial videos too!
Glad it brought back good memories mate. Yeah, I was pleased with the drone capture. I felt that it helped show off some of the amazing scenery 👌
Great to see you on our weekly trails, cant beat the bash for a seriously good day out.
Great trails to have as your weekly trails!

@Mugtree I can imagine. It's not a place I know well. Hopefully I'll change that over the next few years.

@Mugtree that's class 👌🙏
As soon as I saw the pic, I knew where you were.... Love the lakes, we go every year, been over 30 years now... Magical place for mtb
