    An Australian guy said to me, “He got Beanned.”

    • @shallowabyss515
      @shallowabyss515 4 года назад +10

      Yeah an old Aussie saying for 'He got fucked'. Comes from the evacuation of Australian troops from Gallipoli in WW1. They wanted to abandon the entire front in one night, without the opposing Turkish getting suspicious, so they rigged up their canteens to slowly drip water into bean cans attached to the triggers of rifles, so that when the can filled up the rifle would fire. Because the guns never fell silent the Turkish never suspected a thing, and the evacuation is widely regarded as the only successful part of that endeavour. The term comes from the legend that some of the guns rigged up to shoot with the empty cans actually managed to hit and injure Turks attempting to to recover the wounded under darkness, hence the saying 'fucked got beaned'.
      Just kidding i made it all up - but shit sounded convincing eh?

The Content and Services contain certain licensed materials and Valve’s and its affiliates’ licensors may protect their rights in the event of any violation of this Agreement." This is very vague cause did the user actually violate this agreement besides sharing an account? Because most users get banned for sharing accounts, deleting skins is a whole other case which Valve from what we know never did. If Valve starts to do it like this they just will do whatever they want and users got nothing to say but seeing that we are viewed as subscribers of steam we already lost.

    I think trade banned accounts should be able to sell items on the community market, but all the steam wallet funds would go back to Valve, that would allow someone to login on the bots and put trade-banned skins back into the trading scene, with Valve and the community reaping benefits.

    Well that pretty much changes the game in my mind. If Valve deletes skins they can break the game pretty fast. Think about it, before this intervention by Valve CS:GO skins were basically untouchable and a very stable investment. Yeah they could get trade banned and therefor were rendered useless but they never left the game making them still existent, this is VERY different in my mind. If these skins are lost that is not a good thing for cs:go's economy. As an Item of value there shouldn't be such fluctuations in the total amount of skins.

    I knew this one kid who had a questionable living situation who basically was given free intentional access to a credit card to do whatever he wanted. He bought tons of skins, even bought me a knife. He ended up getting market banned and his skins deleted and the money refunded to the card owner because basically it was the mother trying to sabotage the father as far as I understand.

    They really had to do something. This was a step towards selling trade banned bot accounts for big $$$. The sites wouldn't recoup anywhere near 100%. But even 20% would help them, which is exactly what Valve didn't want.

    I just find it kinda stupid, I mean, thoses items are trade banned anyway, they could use this time to add stuff for security like locking items up in your inventory with passwords and stuff to avoid losing them if your account information is found by a scammer, and thoses items, they are so many items lost during this, they just delete them all and not waste time or simply lock them up, the better would be to either delete them or give them / auction them off (at least they could either make the community happy or make money out of it), of course the items if given away would need to be untradable.
