I was really excited when I started Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. 90 open world check lists and 9283747473 mini games later, I was filled with loathing. I wanted a bit more out of Remake, but that was way too much. For every one thing I enjoyed, there were ten things I muddled through.

Maaannnn! Torna drove me crazy with that progression block! I was playing in between main game chapters because I read somewhere that's what the game creators recommended. It was SO frustrating to be locked down when I wanted to blast through and get back to the main game! I slogged through but I would not play again even though it ended very strong.
@@4jandsons The last area for Vengeance was a drag since it was my least favorite area in the original SMTV, and there just weren't that many changes. The changes made were welcome, but that one map is still such a slog, especially when you're itching to finish up the superbosses and story.
@@NordicAndNerdy I agree, also the story presentation felt disjointed to me. But that's a problem a lot of open world games have. The whole blades idea wasn't a great one...but I still forgive xeno 2 bc I liked the characters, world and music a lot.
Omg I thought I was alone with Code Realize Guardian of Rebirth! I felt the EXACT same way! Especially when you said you didn't like her condition getting in the way of your smut. I tried and tried. 😂😂
Interesting topic Paige! SMT5 is one I still haven't finished. It's extra frustrating because it was one of the games that pushed me to get a Switch (Not that I haven't gotten plenty of good time with it). But yeah, it didn't feel great to have to try and force myself to keep going, in the latest game in one of my favorite series.
Yeah I get you. I had a game like that as well. FF13 was one of my system sellers for ps3 and I didn't enjoy it. And it was my first game on ps3, at a time I was 17 with no income of myself. So I didn't have money to buy games. Then a friend recommended me Sly Cooper collection, so I've bought that. And didn't enjoy it. Only six month after FF13 I've bought a game that I've enjoyed- Assassin Creed Brotherhood. Thankfully, after that, most of my purchuses were great, and even today the ps3 is my favorite game system.
@@DaakkuuYRS I did the same. I wanted to like it, because of Lighting, but I struggled with the challenge fight to power your character. I believe I got stuck on Snow and quitted. PS3 is my least liked console, but I think it was because I could not play my beloved ps2 games, so it felt limiting.
Can't say I relate. To me, New Pokémon Snap is nothing short of easily the best Pokémon game on Switch that improves upon the original in every way with such an amazing amount of content despite its simple gameplay.
I'm struggling to finish Mario Luigi Brothership. 35 hours in. I did not expect it to feel like a slog when I otherwise love Mario RPGs and I was hyped for the game.
Definitely agree with the Torna take for sure! I enjoyed it, but I felt like the community stuff truly was just there to add some extra hours to the game and made the end feel waaaaaay less impactful!! Currently, I'm hardcore struggling making my way through SMT V--first SMT game ever and it's been reaaaaaally rough so far. Love the combat! I just haven't really been able to see the, uh, point of it all yet lol.
This is out of context but I’ve never watched anything about dragon ball in my entire life, but after see that dragon ball z kakarot is number 2 favorite JRPG last night I’ve like to give it a try, and damn! I was so addicted to it till now, never feels this excited playing a game in a while but i was so excited playing this game hahahahah thanks paige!
I have only played Xenoblade chronicles 1 up to the 7 chapter. Even on casual mode, I kept having to do side quest to keep up my level. So if people are having a hard time with Torna, then I don't even want to think about how much more you have to do.
Hey Paige! thanks for the video! For me it was Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, because the fact they were spliting the main group over and over and because of that it was a lot harder that needed to be, but I did finish it, won't do it again!!
Honestly I started Digimon Survive this year because it felt like it was the shortest out of my backlog, but I couldn't get into it yet and put it on hold.
Red Dead Redemption 1&2 was mine. I felt like I "had to" finish it because they're so beloved. I mean, especially because I didn't enjoy the first one, I don't know what I thought I was going to enjoy about the second one (although I did like the second one slightly more than the first). I just found it boring and I didn't like any of the characters. It's just one of those games people gasp if you say you haven't played but I kind of knew before I even started it wasn't going to be for me. At least now I can say I did play and complete them both.
Popular games can be hard to pass out on. Even more if you do game content on youtube or people keep pushing it on you :) My sister is not a gamer. But her husband and kids are. They have been playing a lot of Breath of the wild, which means she has been watching it a lot. She is even considering giving it a try herself. But because of that she is now attempting to make me play it. I might enjoy it, if I gave it a chance. But I have watch hours of other people playing it and it does not interest me. I am on the side of people that went for Immortal Fenyx Rising instead, but I also love my bright colors and Greek mythology ;)
I totally was annoyed with Xenoblade Torna. I did not like the side quests being mandatory and there was so many! So I totally agree with you on that one. I did push through and finish but it was a struggle.
I agree with your Arceus take. When you have to catch so many pokemon it even takes the novelty and thrill out of it for me. Also yea the Torna playtime padding with required sidequests was pretty annoying.
Been playing a lot of “Premium Edition Games” ! They have this cool concept of giving you a physical patch if you complete an in-game challenge! It sounds cool. But boy it results in playing bad games for waaay longer than I’d like, just so I can get a piece of fabric in the mail lol
Dude yes, I struggled with Arceus too! It was just so bland but I beat it! I also JUST beat Final Fantasy 13 last night!! I struggled with the level spike in ch. 11, but just leveled my weapons so that helped me beat it. You can do it too!
The game like this for me was Persona 1. I really struggled with the actual gameplay, but I really wanted to experience the story so I pushed through until the end.
I really enjoyed New Snap (never play the original). It was so much fun trying out new things in the map and have the best shot. I really enjoyed watching National Geographic (I've been watching crocodiles butchers zebras in the most brutal way since like age 3), and this game was that but with Pokemon. As for Arceus. I agree with you, mostly. I like pokemon because of the team building. But I didn't struggle beating it. I enjoyed, but was disappointed with the lack of battles.
Now when you mention it. If you don't use your pokemon in the boss battles, then you rarely get to use them in a fight. Might be why it felt so repetitive.
I really do love the collecting and catch them all formula whether it's Persona, SMT, Pokemon, etc so I really need to pick up Pokemon Legends at some point. Edit: Hollow Knight is a game I'm still struggling to finish. I love the exploration, but there really is a pretty big lack of "hey go check out this area next" going on that makes it kinda tough.
Fun topic! I agree on some of these new Pokemon titles, really seems to have lost their way. We don't agree on side quests, but that's ok, some folks want a shorter experience. A game I struggled to finish at the end was Tears of the Kingdom. Really disliked that slog of an ending.
100%, I need to beat games that I’ve already started as well. Thankfully, that list has grown so large that a few unfinished games don’t bother me anymore, but I’ve had to keep the list from growing out of control recently. Final Fantasy IV: The After Years-SHEESH. That game simply stinks. I’m counting down the hours until it’s over.
The most recent one I struggled to finish was Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I enjoyed it at first but when I got to around the last quarter of the game, it just felt like a massive slog.
@femtrooper it's a weird one for me because I adored the definitive edition of Xenoblade Chronicles, but I could never get into the 2nd one 😅 I enjoyed 3 for the most part but nearer the end, I just had enough of it and wanted to move on.
Hahaha the "smutty" stuff at the end was hilarious. I can totally understand all of these. I actually loved Arceus, but that's because I actually LOVED the catching, especially the shiny hunting, and the exploring. For me, I think it recaptured some of the magic of older pokemon games. I didn't know what I would find, it was a little intimidating, the pokemon felt WAY more interesting, and the hunting aspect and pokedex stuff scratched my grindy itch. So I like... 100%ed that game 😂After a while, I gave up on the shiny hunting, but I had fun with it for quite a bit
I think I might have enjoyed it a bit more, If I could have hit Aipom with a stick after he stole from me. But maybe I was just sour because I could not physically beat up Kamado after what he did to me.
See I love a side quest, and do them all before moving on the main story. So Torna was fine for me. Can’t believe you didn’t rate the story though, I cried buckets. I think the necessary side quests must have warped your pov 😂
Visual novels can be pretty heavy, because of the lack of interaction. I like Otome games, but it is hard to find ones that are more choice oriented, instead of a visual novel. So far I have only experienced it with, Amnesia Memories. The main character has lost her memories, so it feels like you get to shape her with your answers instead of having to be pushed into a already designed character. It also helps it is fully voice acted (with the exception of you).
Omg, I relate so much to your Code:Realize experience, it was the same for me 😂 Still had to see all endings through tho. And… maybe Olympia Soirée would be more to you tastes. It was to mine 🤭
Great video and overall idea! I *totally* get your annoyance with Torna Country. I just finished this for the first time earlier this year; man that was SO annoying to have forced side-quests! It's like the devs felt like they needed to pad the content and overall playtime with this crap! Thankfully Future Redeemed for Xenoblade 3 (which I hope you're enjoying right now) doesn't have it at all.
I did a good bit of quests in Torna but I definitely dropped it at that final mission to do all the quests. Personally im struggling with FF VI. I was hyped for the remasters when looking at the graphics on my phone but they were also obviously made for mobile. The games do not look good on a tv.
It’s really a shame how they had to ruin Torna with the forced side quests because I loved everything else about it. That’s the main reason why I will never replay it.
Right now im doing it with the tsukihime remake. It's a really good horror visual novel but im about 65 ro 70 (i don't know at this point) and while i am enjoying it i kind of wish that i took a break at the end of the first story arc. If anyone can handle psychological horror and physical horror i do recommend this game to people it is really good just im feeling a little burn out after so many hours and it is taking because I read slow and their is no english dub. The story is about a boy and a vampire and his messed up family and that is all im going to say i cried in the prologue which usually doesn't happen with me in games
@@femtrooper it is on ps4 and switch it will be hard to find a physical copy of the game now but came out last month. Food4dogs has a review of it if you want some more information
Burning out over longer games, is so easy. I am doing game rotations right now, which is working amazingly. I play persona 3 reload and kingdom hearts 1. Both games are pretty much replays, because I finished persona 3 portable and I lost my kingdom heart save near the end. So to keep myself from getting to frustrated with where I am, I rotate them daily. I think I will continue to do this going forward, it is easier to focus on the game, because I am not waiting for it to end. When my frustration level is high, I want nothing more then for it to end. But having a days break between game sessions cures it. But man, 60+ hours of visual novels is a lot. Well done!
@Summer_and_Rain agree I'm playing ffxvi along with it, so i Don't get burn out because if not all I'm doing is reading which can get tiresome and I tell myself to roughly read a chapter per a session which roughly takes me 3-5 hours per a session
I only struggle because of my completionism nature. I try to maximize my time with each game by completing as much as possible. Sometimes its too much.
I felt this way about Tales of the Abyss recently. I actually made a video similar to this topic this weekend! But yeah, theres a lot of games I just cant stand after a while, but most of the time, i just drop stuff if it feels like a slog. Nowadays i just dont want to make the time for something I dont love or enjoy.
I honestly felt this way about both Harvestella and I Am Setsuna. They weren’t bad games and I liked the stories but I just got bored. I did not like the farming mixed with the JRPG, every time I had to farm I was annoyed because I wanted to get back to the story. With I Am Setsuna, I didn’t like how they gate keeped some of the best items behind having to kill a monster with a certain kill type, it was extremely tedious and I wasn’t able to acquire all of them. Finished both games but definitely weren’t my favorite 🥺
Awesome idea for a video Paige. For me, I think I’ve commented this before but Tales of Arise turned into a real slog to get through. The last 5-7 hours really dragged on and the final dungeon was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. Almost ruined the game for me but I made it through and will never touch that game again lol
Zelda Tears of the Tears while I liked Breath, I wasn't big on the open world thing so I was hoping they'd compromise b/w linear and open in the next game, instead they doubled down on the openness having too much to do w/ little point to do them, was not into the building mechanic, the story was pretty atrocious, and all in all I was pretty done w/ it after doing the 4 main dungeons...but then it kept going and going and going, like aaaaaaa
It is interesting to see what the next big Zelda will be after having done Tears of the kingdom and The new toy style Zelda. We are probably going to see a remake or port before that.
Interesting video you brought up some valid points on the games. 2 games I absolutely struggled to finish were breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom😩 In fact I never actually finished tears because I was just so underwhelmed and bored I could not continue playing. Actually felt that way about the golden country as well sadly ( and I absolutely adore Xenoblade chronicles 2❤) and while I liked the characters in torna the rest of the game was to boring for me… and don’t get me started on the MANDATORY side quest BS❄️😤
It's interesting you stopped playing Digimon Survive because you were bored playing it. I had a bit of a different reaction to it. After the first kid died, I decided the game was too dark for me and put it down for good. I was getting into the story but that was honestly too much for me to want to keep going. To each their own though, some people won't feel its that dark and that is fine with me. XD Great video as always!
A weird one for me was Xenoblade Chronicles. I got the game when it got re-released on 3DS. I was really enjoying it for 40 hours or so hours, got really bored of it, dropped it for 8 years until I forced myself to pick it up again this year and finish it.
For me, it's literally every Persona game. Now, I love them and have a good time, but they are just so long. I have to take breaks to play other games. So, despite loving every minutes and really wanting them to be shorter, I still feel like it's bit of a battle.
I am still hunted by Ookami. I am happy to be done with it, because it no longer lives rent free in my head, but at the same time I ended up having a pretty complicated relationship with the game. The first two hours was a lot of fun. But I think the main reason I ended up not liking it was that the new brush techniques did not feel like upgrades. I enjoyed getting new brush techniques, it made the game feel fresher, until they started reusing the same abilities and instead of feeling powerful like the God I am, it made me feel annoyed. If I am a sun God then give me a flamethrower ability and not just the ability to move fire from one place to another! Such a let down. I think it is pretty funny and interesting that even though my likes and dislikes in games are often different to Peiges, I still enjoy checking in to hear her opinion on stuff. It also means that sometimes we will like or dislike a game, but the reasons are often not the same. I also struggle my way through Arceus. It is also because I got tired of the catching, to continue the game, but it was mostly because I hated the story, most of the characters and that there was invisible walls in a "open-world game". I would ratter get murdered by overpowered pokemon, then walk into an invisible wall in an open world game. I still get angry thinking about it. It did not feel like my adventure. It was kind of the same anger I had when pokemon scarlet gave me the option to say no to Nemona, but then would not respect my choice. If you are not going to respect my choice, don't give me the illusion of one in the first place. On the topic of this toxic need to finish games. I think you mentioned it pretty well around pokemon snap and Arceus. We are social animals and we like to be apart of groups with the same interests as us. Which also opens us up to being afraid of being called out "for not being a proper fan", "a fake". So we then push ourselves to consume media we might not enjoy, to shield ourself from critics. I know I do that with persona. I like mainline persona (3, 4 and 5), so I forced myself though arena and happen to enjoy most of ultimax arena. But now I am faced with the problem that Persona Q exist, but 3DS only have the English voices and I want Japanese voices, but my Japanese skills are not there yet with reading. So I am stuck wanting to experience all persona, but I cannot play it the way I want to and more importantly I don't like dungeon crawlers or playing on the 3DS (^^") ..... sometimes we just need to let some stuff go...
I bought Harvestella because of your recommendation- and I struggled with it - not a bad game just systems of it weren’t woven together well - hoping for a part 2 though 😊❤
It sounds like you just discovered you didn’t care so much about taking photos of Pokémon anymore. Like were you expecting a nature photography game to be exciting? Of course it’s boring. You don’t play it to finish it so much as to unwind at the end of hard day. It’s cozy.
I have to agree with Digimon Survive. I haven't made it that far, but I'm only good for small doses of it before getting tired. I like the visual novel aspect but I feel like the characters just keep rehashing the same information over and over again. The first game for me that comes to mind that I struggled to finish is Assassin's Creed 3. It was the game trailer that got me interested in the series, super excited to play it many years later, but it was a dry story. I did not enjoy the main character and I just wanted it to be over. Luckily I finished it and I never need to touch it again.
This is gonna be a little controversial, but I had to really force myself through Trails in the Sky the 3rd. I loved the characters and everything but so much of the game just felt like filler. Highly recommend the series as a whole if you're super big on story!
I also wasn't suuuuper into New Pokemon Snap or Torna, but they didn't offend me too much lol tho when I play rpgs I try to get at least some side quests done along the story so that helped
Oh man, poor Pokemon 🤣 One thing I really disliked about New Pokemon Snap was how difficult and cryptic it was to solve puzzles in order to unlock new areas in the game. Honestly drove me bonkers and hated that I had to look up tutorials online constantly 😩
I feel you on Legends Arceus. I didn't mind the game at first. I enjoy exploring open worlds, and I liked the story, so I was enjoying the game... for a bit, but the gameplay loop really wears out its welcome before long. There's only so long I can go about catching the same Pokemon over and over before it gets old. A game I struggled to finish was probably Earthbound, which I know is a fan favorite, but for me, it just wasn't doing it. It has a really witty script, sure, but everything else was just not hitting the right notes for me. I didn't like the heavily compressed sound, I didn't think the story was very interesting, and the gameplay interface was annoyingly clunky. I pushed thru it, because I'm a big fan of Mother 3, and Mother 1 actually despite it sharing a few of the same issues, so I wanted to finish the trilogy, but I don't think I'll ever go back.
Awesome video!!! Question, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about Xeno 2, is it required in order to play Xeno 3? I’m closing to finishing Xeno 1. This has been an insanely long but super fun journey lol
I quite like Xeno 2 but it has issues for sure. You don’t need to play 2 to play 3! They are all standalone with connecting themes. So yeah, it’s cool if you play them in order but it’s all different worlds and different cast so you can totally go from 1 to 3!
Final fantasy 7 remake. It wasn’t made for first timers. I wanted to like it since I’m not into jrpgs turn based gameplay so when the remake was gonna be action I wanted to try it out but unfortunately the game didn’t grabbed me at all.
I'm playing through Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition right now, I'm 21 hours in and haven't done a single side quest, I truly hope this isn't the case at the end of this game too 🤣
Laughed out loud at "didn't fill my smutty needs". The struggle is real. I struggled to finish Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. It was my first game thay was an open world and it was overwhelming. However, since I muscled through it and am now used to the style of game I'm excited to play the other two 👍
Well done! I got to chapter 7 and could not make myself do it anymore. I ended up watching all the cutscenes on youtube and then continued on to watching 2. From what I saw, it might be a good idea to do Torna before 2. :)
Paper Mario TTYD remake was a chore I had to force myself to finish. Was my first time playing it so guess not having nostalgia for it hurt it. Just starting Pokémon Arceus so hopefully it’s not a chore after seeing this video 😂
I am the opposite XD I enjoy the slice of life stuff, where the dungeon part quickly becomes to much. You might enjoy shin megami tensei 3, if you have not played it yet :)
I said this under the previous video but I finally dropped Chrono Cross. I just couldn't. Couldn't get attached to the party since every hour brought on a new member, couldn't keep up with the convoluted story, just nothing hooked me. I think I was in the middle of finding dragons for whatever reason. I'm glad other people liked it.
The original Super Mario bros still haunts me. I can even finish it and that bugs me and it dares me to finish it. And I love the Tomb raider games but I struggle to play them. The only one I actually finished was Tomb raider Legend on my GameCube. I'm terrible at video games but there are so many games I want to play and finish but some games I feel dare me to finish it but I can't. Some of them I don't like. I think I have an addiction to video games
Mmmm this is a great topic, I don’t think I’ve struggled to finish a game🤔 (only because like if i’m not having fun I drop it immediately) However on a 100% aspect Nier Automata one of my favourite games of all time, I am 1 item away from 100%ing the game and the last item is incredibly annoying to get. Platinumed the game so thats awesome but it does eat at me a bit. Btw your haircut looks awesome!! 🙂🍻
I am struggling with Soul Hackers 2...while I like the story and characters the dungeon crawling and gameplay is just making it hard just out of boredom D:
The Paper Mario Thousand year door remake. After years and years of being told its one of the greatest mario games.....i just couldn't get past being bored. It had creative moments for sure but it just didn't meet the hype for me or pull me in at any point.
Final Fantasy X and Persona 5 R both dragged for me. I liked the music of Persona 5 but I couldn’t be bothered to beat the final bosses of both, wasn’t high enough level. The Witcher 3 too, I completed the main game but thought it was a bit crap
Hey Fem, i feel the same about Arceus. When i play I always think: "Well yeah, let's play some more i guess" without having actual fun playing it. It's just okay in my opinion. there is some kind of gameplay loop but it's not for me. I can see why people like it tho. For Torna. Yeah, when i played it i basically did every side quest when they came up because i knew i had to complete them anyway. About half of them were interesting (the nopon hat one was funny), the other half i just clicked through all the dialogue, which i never usually do in Xeno games. I think the developers wanted to make you care about the city because of some story events later on. But in the end it was kinda just content for content's sake, and seemed a bit low effort. They wanted to drag it out too much without making it too expensive i guess. Give the fans something to play. I still love the combat, the characters and the story though...
I never had the motivation to finish Arceus but was addicted to Scarlet. I think I disliked how they forced you to catch a certain number of Pokemon and dropped it.
I love Scarlet! :D My only annoyances with scarlet was that "no" to Nemona was not respected and it was to easy to get teleported into doing team star stuff. Like I am just out getting my 10.000 steps with my pokemon and suddenly I am talking with Clive.
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition I got to the last boss then I never got 'round to beating it so I guess I never finished it really but also it was still a struggle. I did enjoy it but yeah I just pushed myself to get as far as I did. xD
I'm currently struggling to get through Bully. It's so revered, so I'm pushing through trying to see what everybody else sees in it. The gameplay's average at best and there's not a likeable character to be found so far. Maybe you just had to be there.
"But Paige, they can't touch her, how can there be smut?" 🤣🤣
RIGHT? Boooo lol
Just discovered your channel (from Ircha) and now binging all your videos, they're so good!

@@femtrooper I tried code x malice during that struggle and became hooked. Code Realize was not a good introduction for me into Otome games! Lol
It’s when you feel forced it’s no good. Hate that!
Haha, the PS3 is special! Lots of games I still need to play!
I’m glad you enjoyed it! Just not my style of game. I guess it was as a kid but not anymore. 🤷🏻♀️
I'm struggling to finish Mario Luigi Brothership. 35 hours in. I did not expect it to feel like a slog when I otherwise love Mario RPGs and I was hyped for the game.
Oh no!!! I’m so stoked for that game so now I’m a bit worried LOL
I really want to try V Vengeance but I’m scared I’ll be bored LOL uh oh!
Happy to help! No one ever talks about it and it’s sooooo fun! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I've heard the XC2 DLC has this hard lock with crazy grinding through boring side quests, very fair critique. Thanks for the video :)
Thank you for watching! :)
Ugh, so frustrating! That’s always a shame!
Honestly I started Digimon Survive this year because it felt like it was the shortest out of my backlog, but I couldn't get into it yet and put it on hold.
Yep, it’s just not gripping.
Even more if you do game content on youtube or people keep pushing it on you :)
My sister is not a gamer.
Yep! This is me! Boring but I somehow find an excuse to keep going!
I totally was annoyed with Xenoblade Torna. I did not like the side quests being mandatory and there was so many! So I totally agree with you on that one. I did push through and finish but it was a struggle.
Thank you! Glad you agree!
I agree with your Arceus take. When you have to catch so many pokemon it even takes the novelty and thrill out of it for me. Also yea the Torna playtime padding with required sidequests was pretty annoying.
100%!!!
Been playing a lot of “Premium Edition Games” !
They have this cool concept of giving you a physical patch if you complete an in-game challenge!
It sounds cool. But boy it results in playing bad games for waaay longer than I’d like, just so I can get a piece of fabric in the mail lol
Oh man, yeah, that doesn’t sound fun!
Dude yes, I struggled with Arceus too! It was just so bland but I beat it! I also JUST beat Final Fantasy 13 last night!! I struggled with the level spike in ch. 11, but just leveled my weapons so that helped me beat it. You can do it too!
Thank you! I love this! I feel empowered to give it another try!
I kind of struggled with octopath traveler because it’s really long and it gets quite hard especially towards the end
100% agree. That game is super hard.
Based on your tastes, Olympia Soirée should really be your next otome read.
Ooooo! Thank you!
The game like this for me was Persona 1. I really struggled with the actual gameplay, but I really wanted to experience the story so I pushed through until the end.
Good for you! I’ve been curious about the old ones.
I’m glad you liked New Pokémon Snap! The game had a lot going for it but I definitely got bored. Oh well!
Ah yes! If you like that, you may really like that game!
Fun topic! I agree on some of these new Pokemon titles, really seems to have lost their way. We don't agree on side quests, but that's ok, some folks want a shorter experience. A game I struggled to finish at the end was Tears of the Kingdom. Really disliked that slog of an ending.
That’s why I like when side quests are optional! If you don’t want to do them, that’s cool but if you do, have at ‘er!
Classic TOTK L take.
If you were a cartoon character, you'd be the one that gets bluebirds to sing on your shoulders.💙
Awwwww! I love it!!!
You are welcome. 😊
Haha, I love FFIV but never played that other thing…I probably won’t LOL
The most recent one I struggled to finish was Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I enjoyed it at first but when I got to around the last quarter of the game, it just felt like a massive slog.
Oh no! I’m currently playing that haha
Oh mannnn! I’m glad you liked it. It just wasn’t my kind of Pokémon game and that’s okay! Glad both exist!
It did for sure. The story didn’t grab me that much if I’m honest but the side quest thing ruined it for me.
I can never spend full price on a visual novel game unless its like the Ace Attorney series where its much more interactive
Same, I have to have some sort of gameplay in my VNs usually or else it can be a struggle.
Thank you! You are the second person to recommend that game so I gotta get it!!!
I’ll have to play the DLC for 3 then! I’m currently playing XC3 right now and really enjoying it!
I did a good bit of quests in Torna but I definitely dropped it at that final mission to do all the quests.
Personally im struggling with FF VI. I was hyped for the remasters when looking at the graphics on my phone but they were also obviously made for mobile. The games do not look good on a tv.
Ahhhh, yeah, I feel as though the graphics are a hit and miss with people.
It’s really a shame how they had to ruin Torna with the forced side quests because I loved everything else about it. That’s the main reason why I will never replay it.
Yes! I’m glad you agree. Such a weird thing they made mandatory!
I’ll admit that sounds amazing!!!
@@strwrbttlfrnt How are you liking final fantasy 6? :)
I struggled to get through “I am Setsuna”. And it took me almost 3 years to finish it.
I’ve heard it’s kinda mid - definitely one I would try but I’m in NO rush.
I only struggle because of my completionism nature. I try to maximize my time with each game by completing as much as possible. Sometimes its too much.
I get that for sure!
If Kamado from Legends Arceus wants to go get himself killed, I'm OK with that.
🤣
I am more then willing to be a murder if it means Kamado is no more!!!!
Good for you! Gotta make the best use out of our free time!
100% understand!!!
Oh nooooooo! It’s one I want to try this year!
Zelda Tears of the Tears
while I liked Breath, I wasn't big on the open world thing so I was hoping they'd compromise b/w linear and open in the next game, instead they doubled down on the openness having too much to do w/ little point to do them, was not into the building mechanic, the story was pretty atrocious, and all in all I was pretty done w/ it after doing the 4 main dungeons...but then it kept going and going and going, like aaaaaaa
Yeah, I’m not into open world Zelda like the new ones.
It is interesting to see what the next big Zelda will be after having done Tears of the kingdom and The new toy style Zelda. We are probably going to see a remake or port before that.
Never heard of Tear of the Tears before. Sounds nothing like Tears of the Kingdom though.
@@RyansChannel0203 can't call Tears of the Teardom anything than what it is
Whatever you say.
Interesting video you brought up some valid points on the games.
2 games I absolutely struggled to finish were breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom😩
In fact I never actually finished tears because I was just so underwhelmed and bored I could not continue playing.
Actually felt that way about the golden country as well sadly ( and I absolutely adore Xenoblade chronicles 2❤) and while I liked the characters in torna the rest of the game was to boring for me… and don’t get me started on the MANDATORY side quest BS❄️😤
I’m glad you agree with Torna! Such a disappointment - like WHY would they do that!?
It's interesting you stopped playing Digimon Survive because you were bored playing it. I had a bit of a different reaction to it. After the first kid died, I decided the game was too dark for me and put it down for good. I was getting into the story but that was honestly too much for me to want to keep going. To each their own though, some people won't feel its that dark and that is fine with me. XD Great video as always!
I still beat it! These are all games I struggled to finish…so I did finish them! Just got bored LOL
@@femtrooper Haha my bad. I give you credit for finishing it even when you were bored. I just couldn't do it.
A weird one for me was Xenoblade Chronicles. I got the game when it got re-released on 3DS. I was really enjoying it for 40 hours or so hours, got really bored of it, dropped it for 8 years until I forced myself to pick it up again this year and finish it.
Glad you finished it though! It has a great story!
Getting in the way of your smutty needs huh 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this was a fun one to watch lol . Thanks for the content
Haha thanks!
I am guilty of finishing games that I don't like - Dark Rose Valkyrie, for example. That was the worst.
I shall stay away!
For me, it's literally every Persona game. Now, I love them and have a good time, but they are just so long. I have to take breaks to play other games. So, despite loving every minutes and really wanting them to be shorter, I still feel like it's bit of a battle.
Yes, I understand this completely!
Yes to all of this!!!
I loved Torna but I also thought the sidequests were a nuisance...personally the game I finished reluctantly was Ac origins
Totally annoying! Not sure why they did that!
I bought Harvestella because of your recommendation- and I struggled with it - not a bad game just systems of it weren’t woven together well - hoping for a part 2 though 😊❤
Oh no! Well, I appreciate you going for it!
It sounds like you just discovered you didn’t care so much about taking photos of Pokémon anymore.
Like were you expecting a nature photography game to be exciting? Of course it’s boring. You don’t play it to finish it so much as to unwind at the end of hard day. It’s cozy.
I dunno! I loved the original so I thought I would have the same amount of fun I had all those years ago. It’s okay!
Persona 5. 10-15 hours in, still getting tutorials. When does it end? 😩
Haha, I don’t really remember but I do know it takes around 100 hours to beat and that’s the bare minimum. Just a heads up!!!
I got to the final boss and gave up… good music, but dragged on far too long and just didn’t keep my interest
Great pick! And yeah, games in small doses kinda make me mad cause I clearly can only handle so much and then I get bored. Sucks!
As someone who likes finishing games, I have a lot of games that fit into that category 😂.
Some interesting choices 😊👍
Haha thanks! Do a response!!! Would love to see it!
@@femtrooper will do
Hey Femtrooper I'm kinda struggling with Tales of Graces for the PS3 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 so you not alone 😢

SIDE QUESTS ARE NOT FUN AND I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL
Also totally agree about Arceus. I struggled so much with that game!!
Yessssssss! Love to hear it! And yeah, sidequests are evil LOL
This is gonna be a little controversial, but I had to really force myself through Trails in the Sky the 3rd. I loved the characters and everything but so much of the game just felt like filler.
Highly recommend the series as a whole if you're super big on story!
I gotta try Sky!!!
I need to buy Pokemon snap, I sold it and really regretted it, and I need to get around to playing my copy of digimon survive. Great video!
Thank you, dude!
I also wasn't suuuuper into New Pokemon Snap or Torna, but they didn't offend me too much lol tho when I play rpgs I try to get at least some side quests done along the story so that helped
Glad you made the most out of them!
Oh man, poor Pokemon 🤣 One thing I really disliked about New Pokemon Snap was how difficult and cryptic it was to solve puzzles in order to unlock new areas in the game. Honestly drove me bonkers and hated that I had to look up tutorials online constantly 😩
Yeeeeeah, I’m sad it wasn’t my thing cause it looked so cool! Oh well!
No offense, but sounds like a skill issue.
Totally fair! Earthbound is my favourite game but I understand it isn’t for everyone! Mother 3 is also super cool though so that’s great!!!
😮 not TORNA and Arceaus! Nah I get this haha!
Ohhhhh yeah!!! 🤣🤣🤣
love Survive
That’s great! I really wanted to like it!
@@femtrooper I think I needed something chill that I could pick up anytime and I didn't have to think super hard over.
@@femtrooper that’s good to know!! I’m still gonna give it a shot either way but, I’m really exited to play Xeno 3 lol
Final fantasy 7 remake. It wasn’t made for first timers. I wanted to like it since I’m not into jrpgs turn based gameplay so when the remake was gonna be action I wanted to try it out but unfortunately the game didn’t grabbed me at all.
Totally fair!
Me and you have a lot in common. I feel the same way with the games you mentioned. To me the best Pokemon games were on Gameboy.
Heck yeah! Kanto for life!
I'm playing through Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition right now, I'm 21 hours in and haven't done a single side quest, I truly hope this isn't the case at the end of this game too 🤣
The first one is fine! Don’t have to do weird side quests!!! :)
Love the content. Thanks :)
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!!!
Final Fantasy 6. Liked it but eventually wasn't sure where I was supposed to go and do.
Oh, I get this! I needed a guide for that game!!!
Laughed out loud at "didn't fill my smutty needs". The struggle is real.
I struggled to finish Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. It was my first game thay was an open world and it was overwhelming. However, since I muscled through it and am now used to the style of game I'm excited to play the other two 👍
Xenoblade games are a bit overwhelming sometimes!!! So big!
Haha, I hope you’re on the side of liking it!!! So many people did! And yes, the backtracking in TTYD was annoying!
Any persona game. Love the dungeons and story, HATE the social aspect and timed days mechanics
I am the opposite XD I enjoy the slice of life stuff, where the dungeon part quickly becomes to much. You might enjoy shin megami tensei 3, if you have not played it yet :)
SAME! I feel this so much!
Yeah, I’m scared to play that for fear I won’t like it! I’ll have to see.
Haha, just keep playing and have fun! Sometimes I am horrible at certain games but that’s okay!
I loved Digimon survive! Definitely shocked me as I only had the kids cartoon to compare it to lol
Yeah, and it’s certainly way darker!!! It’s not the worst I guess but it just didn’t do it for me.
Mmmm this is a great topic, I don’t think I’ve struggled to finish a game🤔 (only because like if i’m not having fun I drop it immediately)
However on a 100% aspect Nier Automata one of my favourite games of all time, I am 1 item away from 100%ing the game and the last item is incredibly annoying to get. Platinumed the game so thats awesome but it does eat at me a bit.
Btw your haircut looks awesome!! 🙂🍻
Aw thank you so much! :)
@@femtrooper Of course!!! 😊 🍻
I prefer not to commit to anything I'm struggling to enjoy, so... Resident Evil 4, back in 2005.
I respect that!
I am struggling with Soul Hackers 2...while I like the story and characters the dungeon crawling and gameplay is just making it hard just out of boredom D:
Oh, that’s too bad! I would like to try that game sometime!
Pokémon Legends I agree with. I like the idea of open world but I wish it was based of gens 1-3 . And maybe I would’ve liked it. I never finished it
So true! It was a slog.
The Paper Mario Thousand year door remake. After years and years of being told its one of the greatest mario games.....i just couldn't get past being bored. It had creative moments for sure but it just didn't meet the hype for me or pull me in at any point.
Lots of backtracking which annoyed me so I understand!
Oh man.. Digimon Survive is roughski… HIGHLY recommend the Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth games if you haven’t played them though
Glad you agree! I need to finish the first Cyber Sleuth game! I bought the collection on Switch so I plan on playing it there!
@@femtrooper PERFECT!! Yeah definitely play the first one first or the uhh in-between-quel won’t make as much sense.
Final Fantasy X and Persona 5 R both dragged for me. I liked the music of Persona 5 but I couldn’t be bothered to beat the final bosses of both, wasn’t high enough level. The Witcher 3 too, I completed the main game but thought it was a bit crap
Fair enough! It’s hard with long games sometimes to stay motivated.
Yeah, just a slog for me at the end. Sucks! Games should be fun!
Agree with new pokemon snap, it wasn’t that long but playing it every day felt like going to work, not having fun.
Felt like a chore for sure!
I couldn't finish 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim and I bought Stardew Valley because it was cheap but couldn't get into it.
Yeah, I get that. 13 Sentinels was one I liked but wasn’t blown away by.
I never had the motivation to finish Arceus but was addicted to Scarlet. I think I disliked how they forced you to catch a certain number of Pokemon and dropped it.
Yeah, it just got boring and tedious!
I love Scarlet! :D My only annoyances with scarlet was that "no" to Nemona was not respected and it was to easy to get teleported into doing team star stuff. Like I am just out getting my 10.000 steps with my pokemon and suddenly I am talking with Clive.
Putting developers on blast for not being respectful of people’s time and not being smutty enough. 😅😂
Yeeeeeah!!!
Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition
I got to the last boss then I never got 'round to beating it so I guess I never finished it really but also it was still a struggle. I did enjoy it but yeah I just pushed myself to get as far as I did. xD
That game is soooo boring! I hear ya!
So more smut is always better.
Heck yes!!! Hehe
Uncharted 1 lol, every time I thought it was almost done......
Oh yuck! I actually never beat that lol only 2, 3 and 4!
I'm currently struggling to get through Bully. It's so revered, so I'm pushing through trying to see what everybody else sees in it. The gameplay's average at best and there's not a likeable character to be found so far. Maybe you just had to be there.
OMG! Maybe haha I loooooved that game when it came out. Played it constantly!
I've probably only completed 10 games
Front Mission 3 was the most fulfilling
Nice! I’ve heard those are good games!
