It's also important to not that Riot are shady bastards too. Deny an NA Valorant team for G2... Yet don't remove G2 from Worlds? G2 in League makes Riot money. There's no guarantee that G2 would bring in the viewers and engagement on the Valorant side like it does on the League side. So Riot did what was best for THEIR pocket linings and denied a Valo team to make themselves look good, while keeping G2 at worlds so they'll get more engagement and support from the G2ARMY. Riot are shady as fuck and they need to fix their own misogyny before punishing an entire team due to cancel culture. Let's not forget Riot had to pay 100 Million fucking dollars to 2000 current and former female employees for the kind of bullshit Tate spews.

A couple days later g2 was denied a spot in valorant franchising and that’s probably what forced him to step down. I believe that if this had happened next week he would still be at g2. He would serve his 8 week suspension, let the backlash go away and then slowly come back, but the fact that he cost the org so much money meant that he couldn’t stay anymore

What does cancel culture really mean in our world today? Is it a true "power of the people," where our voices (social media comments) really reflect the pulse of public opinion? Or does it speak more to how public opinion is completely synonymous with business practices? The more public a figure, the higher resolution your actions are viewed through. Is this good or bad? Does it cause us to focus more on the actions of famous/media personnel, where the actions of those who can fly under the radar are ignorantly allowed?
I cant disagree with G2's decision, but when personal actions dictate more about a business' ethos than the business' actual ethos themselves, I cant help but feel we have something wrong as a society.

There are other CEOs in league (and generally) who nobody ever hears of who'd never get cancelled by their partying and opinions because they wouldn't post about it. Social media are optional, voicing your opinions is optional. Carlos had always asked for a bigger audience, because he always had to say something, but didn't have something to say. AT on the other hand made himself (on social media) by crusading against women's rights in an attempt to justify his life choices and actions. AT needs the public's approval, Carlos thought he'd always have it. It was incredibly naive of him to think that you can drag someone out of the dirt without becoming dirty yourself and for that he got dragged into it as well.

He was at a party with Andrew Tate, posted a video about it where Tate was seen in the background
People were angry at him on Twitter
Like an idiot he doubled down saying nobody can police who his friends are
Then came in hot with an apology
They lost a Valorant franchising spot and a lot of money from that
Shareholders vote him out as CEO because he just lost G2 10m+
Now Perkz calling everybody a basement dweller on Twitter as the last bastion of hope fighting for Carlos alone.

He went partying with AT and decided to be edgy on twitter about. When the obvious pushback came he doubled down, G2 had to distance themselves from him meanwhile he kept doubling down threw G2 under the bus for his own ego. Riot ultimately decided that G2 was too unprofessional for their valorant franchising and last minute decided against offering g2 a spot who now losr millions off of it
TLDR: Carlos had a huge ego on twitter wanted to trigger some people and didn't really grasp the concept of consequence ultimately losing millions for his conpany

In a great party of something that did G2 (i can't remember what), he made a video enjoying the party with a guy named Andrew Tate, a misogynist and a piece of shit in general, with accusations of human trafficking and r4pe. Instead of apologizing or saying that he doesn't share his views, he doubled down on it and said that no one can control his friendship, basically admiting that he's friends with him. When he was forced to apologize by the company, he never deleted the tweets and liked the people that was in favor of Andrew Tate. G2 tries to keep an image of inclusivity and support, so having the CEO being friends with a misogynist and a probably r4pist is horribly bad for the company, so they had to take him down.
TL;DR: He had a party with an awful person, never apologize for it, doubled down and lost.
