Roger IS the greatest rock singer and takes care of himself which is why he still looks young. And a rock star married for 50 years? More grounded than most. God bless ya, mate!
Excellent. I started playing drums in 1964 because of the Beatles and the WHO. My 2 favourite bands. I've seen the WHO twice with Keith and Once with Kenny Jones. Great Presentation and Thank You.
I saw the Who in ‘69 at Mother’s in Birmingham. They were brilliant and put everything into the gig including most of Tommy. I was able to speak to Roger as he was about to get into his Lamborghini. He was polite and friendly. I often bore the young ‘uns with how much better (and cheaper!) it was to enjoy the greatest music when you could stand so close to the stage rather than half a mile away!
My hero , I met Roger at lakedown in the eighties while trout fishing , we cheekily brought some records in the car for Roger to sign. But we didn’t expect him to be there ! But to our surprise he was we approached roger all star struck . Roger said leave them with me and go and enjoy your fishing . At the end of the day we collected our prize possessions with wry smiles on our faces. How ironic that thirty odd years later that Rogers charity was helping our late son in law who lost his fight to cancer . Rogers charity made all the difference to my daughter and husband in their darkest hours with his charity . Not only my musical hero but a fine man as well. Thank you Roger for all you do I hope you see this post kind regards from Dean , in Guildford surrey.
Thnx for posting, Dean. It’s great to hear your recollection of events. I trust you still have those albums. For me, I get to keep the warm thoughts you have delivered here to us RD fans.
The crash thumbnail images should definitely be changed - it makes everyone looks so shallow, just into 'money and birds and cars'...one thing the Who were and are not is shallow. They made 'deep' music that matters, something of substance.
Don't worry he(they) def did all that(it was a particular phase for Young, free&wealthy Rock ⭐)..But he appeared to become more well rounded&able to enjoy& appreciate what he's got!
Roger has done really well to survive into his middle age and still has the "spite" to sing rock and roll!!! he deserves his success (along with his group)----i guess its eating all that fish and keeping fit that has helped!!------And indeedy lets hope that we wont get fooled again??--(masks off)!
85 million wow true success. Not like most rock stars that go down in flames . Was truly happy to hear that he has kept his fortunes . Well deserved !!!!!
I worked on some houses opposite the fish farm that Roger owned at iwerne minster Dorset back in the late 1980 s.had a look at his red Ferrari. The site manager used to meet with him and his mates at the local pub.never got to meet him but did see him walking down to the pub one lunchtime. Rog brown. Pacific sunset records
@Alan Stock hi Alan thanks for your reply.im aware Roger lives in Sussex but it was him I saw in iwerne minster. I lived at Ringwood for some 23 years and then verwood and then Bournemouth. Stay safe .Rog. Pacific sunset records
Been a long time Who fan. I grew up listing to The Who and Led Zeppelin. I never had the opportunity to see them earlier but I got to see them in 1997 got to see John Entwistle on bass. Ever since John passed away it wasn't the same.
I most certainly respect singers/ musicians WHO do not use any drugs at all! But still love Pete Townshend too despite his early bad behavior with drugs/ alcohol!
We should stop worshipping these current "junk food" celebrities and admire talented ones like Roger Daltrey. He was a top student and had so much promise, but his career decision to be a musician was the best choice. Too bad he engaged in the immature act of smoking tobacco during school, but it's so awesome that he never used drugs and that other bull$hit.
Mr. Daltrey. I really couldn‘t understand why you are not able to finalize the movie about Keith. After all your anouncements it is little embarassing.
My back was badly broken During the assault I had during the rape I thought I was gonna be killed it was so traumatic and I need help I guess I have post traumatic stress syndrome And I wasn't Pointing fingers at some big rock star it was just this jerk in a hospital I was in the emergency room And nobody help me and I thought they were gonna kill me
He isn’t nearly as well off as Townsend because he didn’t receive songwriting credits/royalties. Essentially, the only way Roger makes money is through performing, while Pete rakes in publishing cash in his sleep. At least Roger has good business sense or he would have ended up flat broke or in debt the way John always was.
Yeah they should definitely change that - it makes everyone looks so shallow, just into 'money and birds and cars'...one thing the Who are not is shallow. They made 'deep' music that matters, something of substance.
Sole of the boot = 5 cm. Orthopedic insoles = 3cm. Official height = 1,68 m. So, Daltrey is 1,68 - 5 - 3 = 1,60 m height. This explains your beautiful voice. It's a infamous joke because chinese pandemic, for sure.
April why the heck would you say this? Still a great band? Who are you to say when anyone should retire? Still have a huge loyal audience your loss you are not a fan.......faaaade away Debbie downer😂🤣
They were never as good again, without Keith. They went from amazing to almost average overnight. I can’t name one song since Keith that had the same vibe as the ones that came before.

The Who,Led Zep,The Beatles and Pink Floyd all sit atop the Mt Everest of R&R.
Roger has a strong, confident sense of self and sense of purpose. I really admire that about him.

Rest in peace Keith Moon and John Entwistle

Thank god for the who and Roger at the front the who the greatest band ever r. I. P Keith and John
Amen
ive heard hes a very down to earth bloke .
He is, I've had the pleasure of meeting Roger twice! He's a lovely guy.
Best Rock singer on the planet 🎤🇬🇧👍.
agree
Agreed. NOT Robert Plant, his voice was SHOT by 1975. And it's not ALL about range. Depth, style and pitch count a LOT
@@johnnapier1892 Loved the voices of Roger Daltry and Freddie Mercury.
AFTER McCartney and Lennon, perhaps.
Paul Rodgers leaves this guy way behind.
Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, great band
What a legend and a real man. Not frightened of anyone and as hard as fkn nails. Possibly the best singer ever.
Because he's small, like Danzig, Dio, De vito. They are all tough! Hahaha...
@@ivantopolcic he's not small, its a normal human size, people are tall
Roger Daltrey: The CONSUMMATE Rock Vocalist in the UNIVERSE! PERIOD!
100 percent agree
Truly lovely person great man
"REIGN ON ME"!
I like the cover artwork from "Tommy" being painted into the hood of the Bespoke Rolls-Royce Wraith (9:22) - very cool touch.
That car isn’t Roger’s. It was done to raise money for charity, which it did, very successfully.
A fine Englishman we can be very proud of. Long may he reign.
Good Grief. This is a word for word reading of the wikipedia entry.
Great voice, crazy sense of humor, and common sense. Great show, Chicago, 1975, Dec.
God Bless The Who 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
This is a real Rock star from a real rock band, bollocks to the beatles

A true work of art (the thumbnail)
I met Roger in Vancouver 1996 ... Be Lucky Roger ! Your friend Everett
It’s the Isle of Wight, not Wright.
That's Wright 😃
Go easy on the American! English is his second language after all.... I was on a train once with Americans who were heading to “Stone hedge”.
@@petergibbon3400 Did they go to Lie-sester square in London? :)
David R Coe Probably. Later on I met their cousins in Scotland. They were headed to Bell Shill. Or Bells Hill (Bellshill) as it’s known locally.
That's Right. Correct.
Simple man... Great singer... Hallo Roger... Jimi 56 Verona Italy 🇮🇹👌🤟
He said in 1957, that he joined a skiffle band called The Detours. Thirty seconds later, he says Roger formed the band The Detours in the sixties.
did i hear correctly he said the isle of right ?

I've always loved the Who too. They were so creative and Roger has a great voice.

Daltrey não morreu e não envelheceu 😎
Legend.
7:30-8:37 the narrator goes to take a leak....
Possibly a dump.
I most certainly respect singers/ musicians WHO do not use any drugs at all! But still love Pete Townshend too despite his early bad behavior with drugs/ alcohol!
"Jacoybean'' Gotta laugh, at least our narrator is being true to form!
A jackobian house 😬
I was brought up in Acton.
Well yeah,...the Women from the "Me too" movement would get there point across quite a lot better if they were polite.
The house style is NOT Pronounced JAKE-OBIAN??? It’s ‘Jacobean’ ... pronounounced Jack-Obb - ee- ann
AGGGGHHH ..AND ITS GRANARY .... GRAN-ARR-EE....... NOT GRAIN-UR-EE !! This is not hard stuff to get right
How about a video on Jimmy Buffett or Jon Secada
@Larry Niles you got that right
The narrator is basically reading Roger’s Wiki Page…
What an annoying voice over......
Aye it’s horrendous.

He was a top student? I read his book.. he dropped out of high school.. a good stupid possibly with music? But that’s itS
Comes across as a bit thick to me, he's like the unenlightened one because he couldn't handle drugs.
Mr. Daltrey. I really couldn‘t understand why you are not able to finalize the movie about Keith. After all your anouncements it is little embarassing.
1.68 meters! Hmm... thought he was taller!
all rock stars are midgets.

Should probably have learned how to pronounce “Jacobean” before filming this.
Isle of Wight dodo. Not Wright.
Keith Moon was an everything addict... Too funny, but not funny.
I agree with you ; wish Rog' hadn't said it. Tad flippant.

What the hell is one march ? Brilliant videos spoilt by American commentary.
Would it be better if it were done by a Canadian ya bigot !
Why do Americans say London, England. instead of London.
I think it's because there are some Londons in the U.S
Paul Allen Yes but no one knows them and let’s be honest this about Roger Daltrey an English rockstar
Tom Smothers: And Pete, where are you from?
Pete: London.

Pete: London, England.

I have to disagree they became great again when Zac Starkey joined the band imho
Keith Moon actually taught Zack drums when he was a kid. Zack had a lot of Keith Moon influence
