I actually have an anime-like story that happened to me: my friend and I decided to have a duel outside during high school. He was playing meklords and I was playing a warrior deck. After some turns had passed, he had Meklord Dragon Asterisk (4600 ATK) on his side and I had Colossal Fighter on the field. I had no way to defeat him at hand until I remembered the effect of utopia ray in my extra deck. He decides to attack my Colossal Fighter with Asterisk. I activate Fighter’s effect to summon himself back from the grave. He activates Asterisk’s effect: when I special summon a synchro monster, I take 1000 points of damage. I decide to use this to my advantage: I purposely summoned colossal fighter until my life points were just under 1000. He attacks colossal fighter again with Asterisk. I tell him that I activate his effect again. He says “if you summon him again, you lose. “ I told him “I’m going to win and it’s thanks to asterisk.” I summoned one of the level 4 warriors in my grave instead and he ends his turn. I draw one of my favorite level 4 warrior monsters, evocator chevalier, and normal summon it. I overlayed both evocator and my level 4 warrior to summon number 39: utopia. Then I overlayed number 39 into number c39: utopia ray. The look on my friend’s face was priceless when he realized what I meant. Utopia ray can only use his effect when I have 1000 or less life points. I used all his xyz material to lower asterisk’s atk, increase my utopia ray’s atk, and hit him for game.
Yuma's signature card is similar to Yusei's "Stardust Dragon" in that both monsters have a protective negate effect and the most evolutions and counterparts of their archetype.
...you know, it took me until this comment to realize not only this pattern, but also the fact that Yuya's signature monster _not_ having an effect that protects its companions (and in fact having one that focused on dealing as much damage as possible) should have been a major red flag from the start of ARC-V.
@@cah137-y4s not to mention all the yu boys’s dragons only have destructive effects not protective. Yuya beats you by doubling the damage, yuto, yugo, and yuri take what makes you strong and uses it against you. Nothing heroic about it
So, fun fact: When me and some friends of mine were going to a local Card shop to buy some things that could power up our decks (we generally did free for all duels), I saw Utopic Zexal for, get this, $1.00. Yup, for just a Single buck, I got a monster that I knew had the potential to be busted (this was back in MR3 however, when the Numeron gates weren't printed). And let's just say that when I made it with 7 materials, one of my friends who played Dragons was NOT happy when I started shutting down his plays and everyone else's plays (everyone else was meanwhile trying to find ways to get rid of it).

Use 2 level 4 Monsters with one of them having a Draw effect (My set up was either Sacred Crane from Summoner Monk or Star Drawing with either Kagetokage or Wyverbuster/Collapserpent since I played a Chaos Varient that included BLS as a Back-up for if Going Unga Bunga with Utopia didn't work). Use the two to summon Utopia (2 Materials and draw two). Evolve it to Utopia Ray (1 Extra Material and an Extra Draw). Rank up into Utopia Beyond with Astral Force (Another Material and Draw). Optional: Use an XYZ Agent in your grave if you have one (assuming you decided to include it) If you have another Rank Up Magic in your hand, drop it and BAM, High attack Utopic Zexal.

One of the funniest things I've ever done in this game is drop Nibiru on my opponent giving them a 10,200 ATK Token. I proceeded to kill it with Utopia Ray V and wipe out all of their LP in one shot. It was glorious. XD
I remember watching the first episode of zexal and I remember my first thoughts on yuma. It went a little something like “You are making so many dumb mistakes five year old would make……..wait”
What I live about Utopia, or Hope, is that its also a non-official Onomatopea monster making him trully feel as a card made for Yuma. His japanese name "Nanbāzu Sanjūkyū Kibō'ō Hōpu" gets 3 "O" sounds back to back Kib"O" "O" "O"pu. Its just my personal head cannon that it was intended to be linked at one point but just remained a subtle hint ;P
You know Zexal Alliance is just a reenactment of Zexal l’s (the character) appearance Pay to 10 lp to put you on the back foot Summoning a Hope with the anime numbers destruction immunity Then you preform Shining draw since you place any 1 card from your deck to the top
my favorite part about F0 is how much it relates to yuma like on surface its not very strong and really hard to get rid of but after each battle he makes the opponent his friend
I don't know if it the right word, but there's something very "inspiring" that the original names are King of Wishes, HOPE in japanese. Utopia is fine, just when you think of Yuma vs Don Thousand and he summons "HOPE", I just get tears in my eyes.
Utopia has some pretty heavy hopeful connotations tho? Something that's fundamentally impossible, yet everyone feels the need to try and achieve anyway. Also in a Utopia there would be no enemies, which ties into Yuma's whole schtick of making everyone his friend.
If nobody has ever heard of Yugioh4RealMen. That video was the First in a series to introduce me to the OVERPOWERED and Manly Utopia Deck Builds! All of which boarder on insane! I had no Idea the amount of BOARD BUSTING POWER this Deck has! Especially with the Equip card "Stoic Challenge". A Card that not only Boosted the ATK gains but Really Hammered home how Busted this Deck can get when it can topple Your Opponent in One Hit! And even CRazier is the fact that "Ghosttrick Spoiled Angel" can Actually be Used in this Deck to Just Build materials and then Use its win Condition! That is Bonkers!
Basic utopia is the best card you could ask for an anime protag. A great way to feel the danger of the opponent, but having a ability that save him. The additional form are just an icing on the cake.
I'm a simple man , I see anything relating to Zexal , I click. My favorite Utopia moment was in Duel Links against my cousin. He was using Shinruai and had gotten me to 100 LP while he was at 2300. I had C39 at the ready and used its effect to make his lvl 6 synchro go down to 0 attack and hit for game. The duel itself is my favorite I've ever had.
The playmate view when discussong combos is interesting, it really helps out visualize your board and was wondering if animating the placement of the cards with some keyframes might help illustrate the order of the combo
Same, though at the same time I kinda don't in case Konomi finally realizes that they only printed a quarter of the potential Chaos Numbers. All of the used ones were printed, but quite a few of them *should* exist, but were never summoned, such as Number 94: Ragnazero or Number 54: Burner Visor, Ragnazero being Marin/Rio's original number and Burner Visor being a Number Girag had *and* summoned (off screen), but never decided to rank it up. This wouldn't be bad but it's frustrating to me that we currently have 109 Numbers, will have 111 Numbers once the other 2 fake/barian numbers are printed, but only 25 of them have Chaos forms. (Also Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark and Number 38: Hope Harbinger, err, something, have Shining Numbers in the manga, though they are only summoned for Yuma to go into something else. So both of those should also get their "Number S" versions printed as well.)

Its funny you mentioned Earth Machines when talking about the Rank up magics, Infinitracks already have an archetype specific "rank up magic Astral force" card that you can use to rank up earth slicer into juggernaut liebe! Which is arguably the strongest earth machine xyz monster currently

You forgotten about Ultimate Leo Utopia Ray from duel links 2 effects When using a overlay unit select one of the ZW Monsters and Equip it onto Leo Utopia Ray Second ability is to negate your opponent's monster effects and Cutting it's Attack in half
Why is ZW - Sylphid Wing a LIGHT Attribute? It's themed after a Sylph, so why isn't it a WIND Attribute!? Also, why is ZW - Ultimate Shield an EARTH Attribute? It's very clearly a turtle, not a tortoise!
Can’t explain Sylphid Wing, but Ultimate Shield can be explained in that it’s designed is a bit more complex than just “turtle”. Ultimate Shield, along with Phoenix Bow, Lightning Blade, and Tornado Bringer, are based on the Four Symbols of China. In order of anime debut, they are the Vermillion Bird of the South, White Tiger of the West, Azure Dragon of the East, and Black Tortoise of the North. And while they aren’t one-to-one, (Tornado Bringer is red instead of Azure) Ultimate Shield is actually pretty accurate in that despite its name, Genbu the Black Tortoise of the North is actually commonly depicted in art as a turtle. The one part of their design that isn’t consistent with their inspirations is their Elements, mostly because Yugioh Elements don’t line up nicely with the Chinese Five Elements that the Four Symbols are associated with.
I quit Yu-Gi-Oh or YGO as I’ve seen it he called now, that’s how old I am, and am so happy it has survived and evolved. Something I grew up with still brings enjoyment to people, couldn’t ask for much more

I just ran into one of these decks in master duel and holy wtf the turn 1 board was like 37 paragraphs of card text. Almost ran the timer out trying to read them all 😅

I believe ZWs are not Union Monsters because Union Monsters specifically because of their universal, copy/paste effects. Each ZW is meant to be a unique problem solver card, and all Union Monsters have the effect to protect the equipped monster by destroying themselves. Plus, Union Monsters specifically had to be equipped from the field and could special summon themselves from the S/T Zone. Most Union Monster archetypes have effects to circumvent this by having Monsters with effects that equip other Monsters to themselves from the hand, grave, or deck. Utopia wasn’t able to do that until Dragonic and Leo Utopia Ray released. Archetypes like Dagunity and ABC Dragon Buster were built around the Union mechanic, while ZWs were meant to be tech picks. Basically, ZWs style of equipping is so unique it wouldn’t make sense for them to be Union Monsters.
i found a funny combo with utopia double where if i use onomatopeia bancho and dwarf i can summon any utopia monster, then use bancho's effect to get a utopia and that way i can utilize double or nothing with ANY utopia....preferably with utopia leo after getting a zw card on it or 2

I found a nice combo in Phantom Knights.

I quit Yu-Gi-Oh or YGO as I’ve seen it he called now, that’s how old I am, and am so happy it has survived and evolved. Something I grew up with still brings enjoyment to people, couldn’t ask for much more

8:44 What I dont understand is why they were willing to mess around with Life Point values of base 10 for Utopia Prime but didnt do the same for manga Utopia Prime and Wiraqocha Rasca and its 1 ATK Point, though with the amount of burn in this day and age, dropping your opponent's LP to 1 at the cost of skipping your battle phase would have led to FTKs out the ass.
I just ran into one of these decks in master duel and holy wtf the turn 1 board was like 37 paragraphs of card text. Almost ran the timer out trying to read them all 😅

I believe ZWs are not Union Monsters because Union Monsters specifically because of their universal, copy/paste effects. Each ZW is meant to be a unique problem solver card, and all Union Monsters have the effect to protect the equipped monster by destroying themselves. Plus, Union Monsters specifically had to be equipped from the field and could special summon themselves from the S/T Zone. Most Union Monster archetypes have effects to circumvent this by having Monsters with effects that equip other Monsters to themselves from the hand, grave, or deck. Utopia wasn’t able to do that until Dragonic and Leo Utopia Ray released. Archetypes like Dagunity and ABC Dragon Buster were built around the Union mechanic, while ZWs were meant to be tech picks. Basically, ZWs style of equipping is so unique it wouldn’t make sense for them to be Union Monsters.

i found a funny combo with utopia double where if i use onomatopeia bancho and dwarf i can summon any utopia monster, then use bancho's effect to get a utopia and that way i can utilize double or nothing with ANY utopia....preferably with utopia leo after getting a zw card on it or 2
