No happy tears Or goosebumps (yet), but without question, one of the most complete analyses of a Band Maid song I’ve heard yet.
Band Maid rewards the listener. They put so much effort into what normal bands would choose to be a straightforward song.
Usually, I like to add some small detail that doesn’t get mentioned in a reaction.
But I think you left me without much to say 🤷🏻

I think it was previously recommended to you, but I would back up the suggestion for the acoustic live version of Puzzle if you want a song where Saiki's vocals truly get to shine. And of course, to continue your journey into the Japanese metal rabbit hole, I certainly recommend Nemophila and Hanabie at some point.

Nice review once again. This truly is a musician's band as well as a band that anyone can enjoy, and you always tend to notice new things every time you listen to the same song over and over. That, and the fact that most of their music tends to grow on me even if it doesn't "hit" the first time, is to me a sign of really good songwriting. And while their musicianship is truly special as a band, their songwriting is next level. That becomes apparent after about song number 30, when you realize that you still haven't had a clunker and every song is different.

This is the magic of Kanami Amadeus Tono (lead guitarist, main music writer, arrangements goddess, teacher and mentor extraordinaire)
They are all great, MISA and Akane being arguably the better musical technicians, and Miku and Siaki the ultimate performers, but Kanami is the soul of the band IMO.

Miku's mic was too low on much of the concert, so she ended up screaming quite a bit. The fact that this was a large venue probably was a factor.
It was the opposite, in Seattle. He volume was good, but Saiki's was low. It wasn't until about the sixth song that they got her turned up.

I think SAIKI is pushing her voice a bit too hard here because of the size of the venue; this was their first arena show.
I believe Tokyo Garden Arena, from a 2023 concert could be considered a large hall or small arena, at 8000 capacity. Saiki pushing her voice due to the arena size is open to debate.
I think she pushed her voice a bit because this concert was a 33 song set list and they had rehearsals before hand. Microphones and amplifiers do their work, so there is no need to sing any differently for size of the venue.

I don’t think she was necessarily pushing too much, I think it was an intentional way of singing. I didn’t hear any straining.
They've played bigger places as a support group. So not the first time singing in a large volume.
Don't say backing tracks to this fan base. You won't make it out of here alive.
