Excellent thanks. Just bought a non runner 1999 winterised AT and first job is to hear it running! Rusty tank cleaned out now fuel lines, plugs and carbs. Then the rest!
Hi Frank. First, thanks a lot for your videos, all are fantastic. I have a questión. I I bougth recently an RD07a from 2001, and i work to tune up to original stage. Works relatively well, but i pretend buy a new jet kit tu restore the carbs. I saw the Keyster kits on ebay and the Sigmas, who supuose bring a few extra power. ¿Do you recomend this (Sigmas) or the Keyster?
Also subscribe to my "Africa Twin Only" channel on youtube please, only Africa Twin content, busy uploading a comprehensive 8 in 1 video currently,be done in an hour or so,don't miss it..
Hi Frank. I'm hoping you can tell me what's wrong with my RD07. It idles perfect, runs perfect and everything. However, once turned off, the overflow hose from the carbs starts spilling fuel after about 1 minute. The fuel pump went haywire yesterday, so right now I'm running around it while waiting for the new one to arrive. I thought that was the problem since it just kept pumping fuel through, but it still does it. I have a slight idea that it might be that float valve thing that needs a cleaning, what do you think? :)
Hi Frank, these films come at a perfect time for me - now that I‘ve joined the AT fan base ;-) Thank you for doing this. May I ask what accent you speak? All the best from Bochum, Germany, Ralf
Hi Ralf, born in Germany Munich, moved to South Africa at some stage, on my way to Ireland soon..i have a dedicated channel just for the AT as well "RUclips Africa Twin Only", i am glad it helps you out..Frank
@@FranksWay A man on the go ;-) Your channel is on my list already 👍🏼. I‘ve just finished changing tyres in my RD07A. Trying Heidenau K60 Ranger for some TET action. Lots of sand in the Netherlands! Good luck for 🇮🇪 ☘️
@@rallenrallen Hey there...thanks a lot man, i stick to Anakee Wild front and mostly rear as i think the Heidenau is bad on wet weather, just check out some reviews, or i have it mixed up with another tyre..see you sometime over there :)
@@FranksWay Heidenau K60 Ranger is brand new. That‘s why I‘ll check them out. I‘m used to TKC80 so far on othrr bikes. The AT came with street shoes 😬. See you on the slopes ;-)
@@FranksWay RD03 is the 650cc, pretty similar yet with some subtle differences even in the carbs. RD04 is the first gen 750, with different carbs. RD07 is the second gen 750 with different carbs. RD07a third gen, again some differences. They are all the same, yet different whe it comes to all body parts, not only engine-related.
You are right, even the timing chain is slightly thinner on the 650 vs the 750,output shaft is thinner, heads are the same, yes subtle differences between 650 and 750.I unfortunately don't have an RD03 to compare against. In the end,RD03 to 07a are the best bikes to own.
