Also, last I checked the battery still works. It depletes within seconds though.
Seeing that TRS-80 Model II...wow. That was the second computer my mother owned for her accounting business way back when those were brand new new. No hard disk, though, so she had a locked cabinet full of those 8" floppies! She gave it to me when she moved on to an IBM 8088. I don't know why but the big PC and the MAME PC has SoundBlaster LIVE! in them (I don't remember why I changed the big PC's sound or is it replace the on-board chip I don't remember). The small PC has the same Quantum Fireball 3GB HDD inside, still works after it was tortured by a failing PSU for many years. All those graphics card names make me feel old, like the S3 Trio, ATI Rage, Trident... By the way, the small PC has an ABIT BH6 motherboard and an Intel Celeron, Slot 1 CPU (I believe it's a 266, 300A or 333 idunno...). I was a fan of the Slot1 design of the CPU.

That piano keyboard at 45:00 really just made me smile :)
And that TRS-80 starting at 47:15 is the coolest looking old computer I've ever seen
I had know PKunzip came on a disk like that. It was always something we just downloaded off a BBS, AOL, and the Internet, depending on the time.
I had a copy of that in my office 30 years ago. Same exact thing. I worked at a software company in WI back then.
OoooMG you are the lucky one, getting all them juicy hardware Sir LGR!
Thanx for the unboxing vids and all your other work. Keep it up! :)
Really hope the game on the USB at 14:11 gets sorted out, i hate to see all that work go to waste
Might need to be run in real dos, not windows command prompt.
Clint was looking at the full source code for the game, he just needs to check the syntax on the first "admin" password entry to kick off the rest of the game. Actually, just looking at the footage it looks like several passwords are valid: LGR or lockdown (case sensitive)should get the game to start.
This is, you know, overwhelming stuff. The SCB-55 blew me away. It's such a piece of beautiful vintage pc hardware. You have the best possible combination for vintage PC gaming sound in a very stylish, neat package. So impressive.
4:44 I misread the greeting for a second and thought to myself that you have to be pretty psychotic to write a letter beginning like that.
Ha ha ha me too
BeOS was way ahead of its time, I remember messing around with it ALOT back in the day!
This showed up pretty quick in my recommendations!
Ikr
Maaaan, seeing that Jedi Knight box brought me back. I have such a clear memory of visiting a Best Buy as a kid with my uncle who was the family computer guy. We were browsing the PC game section(yes that used to exist), I saw the box and, having been a huge fan of Dark Forces, made it known that I wanted that game like right now. It was fall so Christmas was on the horizon. I got the game that year. I played that game probably more than any game in the history of my gaming career (I'm 37). It was legitimately my first introduction to online gaming beyond playing online chess. The Microsoft Gaming Zone hosted it and the expansion, Mysteries of the Sith. Those were amazing the days of early online multiplayer gaming.
I can’t wait till it’s 2050 and we start seeing 2012 macs pros and Asus gaming PCs lol
More PCs than macs. Modern Macs are a hassle to repair, glued together and near impossible to repair without popper equipment. It's really, really sad, but "good old Macs" like today will only be virtual in the future.
@@erebostd Agree, I have a 2016 Macbook pro I would like to upgrade the SSD and ram on, but no go.
@@danaeckel5523 The cost of upgrading them is quite eyewatering too compared to Windows machines, especially when they're already very expensive
I bought a 1 TB M.2 SSD for ~£100 for my PC, yet to upgrade to an SSD of the same specification when buying a MacBook Pro it'll set you back £400... Four times the price, but for what exactly?
You think we’re going to make it to 2050 😅😅😅
I'll be 75 by then. Can you image me in a retirement home? Other pensioners want's watch a soap on tv.
Me: "F@@k off, I want to watch LGR unboxing geekware!
23:19 that's so cool that you signed that and sent it back. love your work!!
40:53 that’s an Owen Wilson “wow”
Like the sentence in the manual for the NES ultimate Doom collection:
"When you exit Doom, Doom2 will start automatically"
The Lytro Cam ist good for an oddware Video.
Doom is indeed, eternal
Hard to believe that Doom kart has a raspberry pie tucked in it.
@Jean-Marc Genier It’s pretty easy with most of them, except with models 3 B+ and 4, USB headers have to be desoldered so they fit in the kart
wow interesting way to dump thoughts
If you want really good stuff check out analogue systems
Can't wait for someone to make a NES run Crysis this way (streamed over wifi to a pi cart from a PC)
I wonder if it can be connected to a Commodore 64 in a similar way.
Man, I LOVE Black Mesa. Had a ton of fun playing it. I’m glad I waited till it was all done.
3:31 From that sticker: 蒸気 (jōki) means "steam" or "vapor", 波 (nami) means "wave", and 服 (fuku) means "clothes".
So..."stinky clothing"?
@@saintcrispan5068 vaporwave... Nothing about that implies stinky at all, if anything it's clean, steamy clothes.
Ah, steam clothes, the super popular music and visual style we all love!
I'm inordinately excited to see your take on BeOS! I remember using it on my old VAIO in the late 90's as a young teenager when I was still finding my way around a computer. Can't wait for that video!
Has several Michaels sending him stuff - "There are a lot of Steves!!!"
So nice to see the joy that these donations bring, and how grateful you are for each. Can't be said for other retro unboxers!
Omg I'm so jealous of the HL HEV Suit!! I love HL! LOL
Oh! And the RG300 handheld! 😛
Awesome video! Your fans are just as awesome!
I remember playing Jagged Alliance on a demo disc. Totally forgot about that game until now... 😮
45:01
Oddware video when?
(On the other hand, it _could_ be useful in the long run though.)
At 6:15, that looks even more like a car radio than the equalizer thing.
Also, at 20:48, _finally_ an IBM Thinkpad 770E. I grew up with one, and still boot it up from time to time to listen to midis. This laptop has LOUD speakers.
Yes, that rubbery coating gets sticky.
I used it as a word processor and to teach myself how to make some really simple BASIC programs that would be laughable now but were really cool to a 10 year old. Watching your excitement got me excited over that machine all over again. So thank you, LGR, for bringing back some good memories. 😄
Please cover Winamp and all those poor lamas that got whipped
DUDE... You got records from PETE CANNON! That's so dope... 2 of my favorite things, LGR and throwback jungle/rave tunes in a single video.
I have 3 old-ish PC's around the house, I still have the one that my brother bought back in 1998 (I call it the small PC), the machine I bought not long after I went to college in 2006 (I call it the big PC) and there's a PC in the home-made arcade machine I built with a carpenter relative of mine that runs MAME.
The Abit BH6 is a really good motherboard too ! Have fun with your PC !
That unboxing must be so satisfying! I love unbox videos, hopefully the packages keep on comming👍😁
You really have very generous fans! But ... where to find time to check and "play" with all this? It causes a slight sadness ... BUT - because it means that you have material for the video for the year ahead !!!
=)))
The wooden board for attaching the fan to Vooodo is really very cool !!! =
)
Sending with Postal also warmed the soul
=))).
The gameboy emulator is awesome! What a speed in Duke3D!
I learned about the Spartan from Western Digital. I read it, interesting ...
Thank you, and ... your fans! For sending new material for future videos !!! Thanks guys!
Holy crap, I'm a big fan of Pete Cannon! So cool that he sent you those records! I have the transparent one. This is 90s style jungle at its best!
12:00 Nice to see someone I'm subscribed to. This guy made the hilarious "Chain of fools" videos.
Those Pins are awesome :) Made my day remembering Win95, I was 10 years old
Heyyy lgr! Greetings from Trinidad (Caribbean)! We love u here!
Wow, I took a BASIC programming class on a TRS-80 Model II, in maybe 1983? Awesomesauce.
Yay Creative Sound blaster Live! 5.1 Platinum. I bought mine off from an internet auction back in 2001 came with the original big flat cable, remote and the digital mini DIN cable. I still have it all to this day. I upgraded it with an Audigy 2 Zs Platinum back in 2006 and then to a X-Fi Fatality Platinum in 2009. The Fatality card has been nurfed a bit as it don't allow AUX and Microphone input to run at the same time. I want to get a new sound card soon but i am quite unsure which one to buy next
Such an epic episode. I was actually getting a little misty-eyed by the end. Can't wait to see that TRS-80 running.
3:58 you dont strike me as a vaporwave kinda guy
4:23 nm.lol
Incarta '95 (who sent the Cymouse headset & cassette) is a Vaporwave artist!
@LGR. Love your videos and hardware you review. Decided to open a few browser windows (ok maybe like 20) all playing your videos at 2X speed with autoplay on and I may have left that machine running for the last few days. Hope you enjoy a little bump up in your viewership metrics! Keep up the awesome content!
4:45 Misread that at first - you've certainly got to be careful when writing the name 'CLINT'.
Yeah I was going to mention that LI looks like a U. lol

I knew I wasn't gonna be the only one who misread that!
Same.
Great video Clint, love these retro unboxing video's. Fabulous!
11:30 lgr tries beatboxing
Wow. You have some of the best subscribers/viewers. I’ve never heard of anyone collecting things like this. By that, I mean common tech that came out when I was growing up. I’m needing out so hard on this. Good reason to subscribe I guess, huh? Will do!
Kind of funny that your subscribers got you a subscriber. That says a lot about your content I think.
This makes me want to start a little retro Xmas tradition where I’d send a retro gift to each of the people I buy for. Because this is actually very cool and fun. What better gift than nostalgia! It’s always a nice feeling.
I’m a simple man. I see a ThinkPad, I like.
Love your ThinkPad videos mate. I was looking into buying an older ThinkPad for XP gaming nostalgia but money is tight atm.
I have no clue what any of the computer hardware stuff you talk about means but I love hearing you talk about it anyway.
Did anyone find the Voodoo cooler?
Can't wait for the restoration video of that radioshack computer. I hope it works!
Also at 51:00 I love it too, literally right out of star wars, that design is awesome!
