I have the same splitter , took the outboard table and spaced it out 6 inches and made a pressure treated plat to match the height to blend. when splitting a larger round you will not be holding it to get it out of your way. cost me nothing to make had materials , just had to buy longer bolts
Slow down a bit and look at the piece you are splitting first. Any knots or limb remainders ,have that end facing the wedge first. You will have a lot less stringy pieces you have to pull apart. I have an empty 200L drum next to me and put the first half of a large split on there instead of trying to hold it on the off side table. Makes an enjoyable job even better. I have one of these and love it.
I custom made my own log splitter Kohler 16hp electric start 30ton ram on a 1/2" steel I beam weight is about 1500lbs on a car axle and highway approve tire
Has this been a good one I am thinking about getting the same one

@@RobinBrider love the idea with the drum. A larger table would be better!
Thanks

Can’t wait for fire season!
It’s the best!
One tip I found when splitting vertical build a little pad around the bottom with some 2x6s makes the logs not so tippy when splitting
Really good idea. I may need to try this!
Nice splitting!
