- One of the more common concerns I hear about black basing is its utility when dealing with dark colors. Well, to put that concern to the test, this installment looks at putting one of the trickier dark colors, Gloss Sea Blue, down over black primer in a way that yields subtle tonal variation.
I’ll go ahead and state the obvious here... it is so cool to watch different modelers on RUclips tackle the same plane/ color. The variations and ideas are great to see. Nice job on this, I always learn something from your videos.
Yet another great video and on such an interesting subject. Cheers
Thanks! Great tutorial, will put this to good use.
Great video to watch. Can you tell me wat pressure you use?
Hey I'm learning a lot from your videos and articles. What kind of air pressure are you pushing through when doing the marbling?
Nice video! Can you please tell me what's this stand you're using to support the model while painting? Thanks!
If I’m doing a black primer what colour should I use to do my preshading , or just don’t do back primer?
Or just don't do pre-shading...
Is it just me, or can anyone else see the ladies face in the paint at 19:30? Shes on the Starboard wing below the aileron looking at the bottom left of the screen..spooky.. at 20:30 Doog turns the model and the face turns into a man!!! OMG.. I need to drink less!!
I wish you could show your ‘shut-up compressor’ and gun settings before you paint. Me being a newby don’t know the basics of system set-ups for painting. I understand the points you’re making though and they are great. You also make paint product comments like ‘thinning’ etc., could you explain more of that?
