I'm a quality assurance technician , your explanation and visual demonstration is one of the best I've ever seen. You use clarity, technical knowledge and tools very effectively. Great job.
I looked at RockAuto's catalogue for this sensor. The price for the NTK downstream 4 wire sensors are $42.00 Canadian dollars (so probably $33.00 in real money) each. NTK is the OE supplier, and the sensor cable appears to come with the 3 mounting clips. Thanks so much for the clear presentation. I like that you presented enough context for me to understand the job, without a lot of superfluous commentary.
Thank you, Midas was going to charge me $800 just to replace the first sensor. I did for $160 (the sensor and the socket). My check engine light went by itself after I drove it a few minutes.
I'm trying to figure out how he can see what he's doing?? I even tried putting my phone back there and just looking at my phone while I unhook it but my arms won't hardly fit through
Instead of a torch you can run the engine for 1-2 minutes. Just be careful because as part of the exhaust system if you get it too hot you can burn your hands.
Great video, I was very successful with the first sensor. The second sensor underneath the car, I couldn’t separate the electrical connectors, it’s only enough space for one of my hands to fit, so it hard to disconnect the male and female connectors. Any tips?
Hey this is the first video I found that has even remotely any information unfortunately I have the Honda Ridgeline and has a torque converter right where you put the socket wrench so I'm not able to tighten it and it's incredibly frustrating
Great video and very helpful gadget(blue driver). Do you happen to know the location for the sensor bank 2 sensor 2 on 04 Honda Accord EX V6? Thank you in advance
If I'm only getting a code to replace Bank 1 Sensor 2, should I also replace bank 2 sensor 2? I read online that not doing so could damage the cat. What are your thoughts?
Could you explain how you got the sensor 1 connector off the mounting bracket? I’ve been trying to disconnect the sensor without taking it off the bracket with no luck
Pop it off is not enough of an explanation for me. Where is the release tab, do you push it in or out, and does the connector go down or up to remove it from the bracket? Mine is very dirty from 270k miles, and I can't see it well enough to figure these things out. Did you remove the heater hoses in order to get to it?
Can anyone help me please, I took my vehicle in had a mechanic replace my O2 sensor bank 1 sensor one went and had it done for emissions and it failed the same code came up Bank One sensor One what could be causing this problem it's getting very expensive to keep replacing this Bank One sensor One
It may not be sensor. Could be a bad ground, wiring or something else that is causing the upstream sensor throw a code. What code are you getting to make you think replacing the sensor would fix it? Or better yet, why did the mechanic think an upstream o2 sensor would fix the issue?
Best to buy an O2 sensor socket Tekton has them $11 free shipping. Sometimes there's nothing wrong with the sensor, it might just need to be cleaned. Don't cut the wires, that's just stupid.
The cost of the NTK downstream O2 sensor is currently 199.99. The other is 80. So it will cost you over 300 just for those two. If you have to do all 4, you're looking at 600. These are one of the stupidest creations ever, and they really do nothing except make big brother feel good.
So I just had my catalytic converter replaced on my Honda Odyssey. I noticed the cat is missing on the bottom of my van and replaced with just a straight pipe
@@bryonaderhold2009 What is the code? If the cat is missing, ask the mechanic why it's missing if they were supposed to replace it. You should have 2 cats on you van and there should be an o2sensor in from and after the cat. The computer is throwing codes because it can't find the o2 sensor probably. cats are pretty expensive. If you were charged for a cat and did not get one, then that's bad. In some states, it's illegal for a mechanic to bypass a cat.
Yeah, that seemed very easy, but what happened 200 miles down the road? Didn't trouble shoot prior to replacing, and that's a STM, big NO NO! Most likely your check engine light came back on, Send a follow up youtube to clear the mystery.
In the video you can tell the b1s2 (Heater code) had a lot of oil around the o2 causing contamination and o2 failure most likely. The B1S1 may just be old and is not responding quickly enough to changes in fuel mixture. Since there are no other codes (lean, rich, misfires), then it would be ok to change the o2 sensor. For a do it yourself project, without a decent scan tool, parts cannon may be ok. If you had a scan tool with graphing, you could compare b1 and b2 to see if there is a difference in reaction when you introduce a vacuum leak or add a rich source of fuel.
For real. That part of the video is sort of like counting to a hundred by saying "1, 2, skip a few, 99, 100". The connector for B1S1 is impossible to see and work on at the same time. I can't even figure how to get mine off to replace it. Also, my 07 Odyssey has a completely different connection for B1S1 than the one in this video. Can anybody explain how to get the connector apart while working blind with one hand?

Additionally, apply the same technique on everything you do and don't do it all for free.
Wow means a lot man

This by far the best video on this ever!! Thank you for no nonsense explanation without a history of all Hondas and 02 sensors ever made.

Thank you for explaining the difference between each sensore bank, this is the BEST video I have seen on this subject!
Well done. I have a 2008 H- Ridgeline and this is one of the better videos on YT for changing sensors. Thank you!
hardest part is accessing and disconnecting the old multipin connectors. - thanks for covering all four.
How did you get those?
Your clip is the best after I watched many channel about O2 sensors replaced for Honda Ridgeline 2006 -2008 ( my is 2007 ) Thanks a lot bro
Best video and explain action out there on RUclips. Thank you!

I took it to meineke 900 for 2 sensors I'm like no sir
Thanks for posting this. Especially the rear sensor; on a VCM it’s a tight fit and this really helped me out!
I'm trying to figure out how he can see what he's doing?? I even tried putting my phone back there and just looking at my phone while I unhook it but my arms won't hardly fit through
@@johnnyjohns3863 - I'm trying to figure the same thing out right now. How did you end up doing it?
@@BeingWolfy I had my friend do it with skinny long arms. He's also a better mechanic than me lol

Thank you for showing that information by using the scissors and socket! That was very nice of you to change the census on your dad's van! Van van

thank you for the video, you show everything that I need to do the repair. Deserve a like for sure!😊
I’m glad I have a 2011 bank 2 is up top. Great job with this.
Thanks for the sharing 🙏🙏🙏
Mines is 2004 and looks like you removed parts on the top.
Did you remove the motor mount?

Great video! I now feel confident to replace the sensors but not I don't want to commit on snipping any wires. lol
If I'm only getting a code to replace Bank 1 Sensor 2, should I also replace bank 2 sensor 2? I read online that not doing so could damage the cat. What are your thoughts?
Not true. There are two sets of cats. One on each bank
FYI , NTK is the OE for Honda , just went thru this 1 year ago with b2s1 b2s2 on 2007 odyssey
Downloaded for a job I’m gonna do this weekend bonus points for doing THE model car I’m working on.
Very nice illustration
If my catalytic converter is missing do still need to replace the first sensor?
Great job! You're a pro!!
Really good vid, thanks
Very helpful. Thanks. Need to do both of mine.
thanks well documented and well explained ❤
very good info bro thanks you
Could you explain how you got the sensor 1 connector off the mounting bracket? I’ve been trying to disconnect the sensor without taking it off the bracket with no luck
Use a flat head screwdriver or a little pry bar and pop it off the bracket then it’ll be easier to disconnect the connector

My trouble code P0159 says it is the Bank 2, Sensor 2. Is that in a different location? How many O2 sensors do these vans have?
4 sensors.
Thank you so much. Great video
Appreciate it
Glad my video could help 🙏🏽
Thanks for the help! Couldn't have done it without you 💪

On 96 and up it should a obd2 port. Some cars the port can be on the passenger side

My sensor 2 connection doesn't look like that 😢 I'm so confused

Is this the same for 08 Ridgeline ?
Most like yes, since Honda used the same engines for most of their v6 vehicles.
