Most cases the mechanism just requires to be refasten the cable -pin to the side button or the spring trigger , replacing the entire assembly is not necessary .. the constant movement of recliner causes this .
If you plan to do a La-Z-Boy sofa make sure you have an impact driver and an impact T-27 bit. This T-27 size is not common. I just converted our recliner sofa to a recliner loveseat for space saving reasons.
I have an Ashley pushback recliner where the footrest mech is jammed on one side and won’t fold. The part that rides on the footrest scissor is stuck between the bars. Does it ride on the bottom or the top of the bar? Suggestions? Tried prying with a heavy screwdriver but can’t get it from being wedge against the bar
By taking that off would I be able to recline the chair manually? My Mom hastily cut the power wire and the remote wire and threw them away. She thought the chair didn't work, but it did. have a single recliner and a black spring has broken and gone through the material at the back.. can't find anywhere what it is and how to fix/replace it
For some reason, the bolts holding the mechanism to the bottom bar are all not the same on my particular couch. 4 are hex bolts, but the other 4 are silver circular solid bolts which I have no clue what to use to remove them as I still need something that will fit into the circular foot pad/bolt space such as the hex bolt extractor. I have NO clue why they did not use all the same bolts for the mechanism. Any suggestions on what I may need to remove them? I believe it is a carriage bolt where they should have placed hex bolts and there isn't much room to get an extractor in there.

Hello, need advice from anyone. We have a special needs, blind and stroke affecting left side. His daily use of a catnap per rocker and heated and massage use is not less than 8-9 hours per day as his physical abilities have declined over the years. Literally impressed by this keeping him in fairly good shape. Our problem is him wearing parts out and after warranty local company would provide used scrapped springs nationwide company was to cover warranty for the past years and weeks long to months long to solve issue. He needs and wants to rock and enjoys the heat in fall and winter and the tactile feeling of the vibrator. Where can I get help with supplies and how to install. Limited income and 60’s so not swift on computer’s but have enjoyed different videos on RUclips at times and anger springer broke. Any direction appreciated.
Repair tech here, yes about 99% of them do however different manufacturers have different style back releases, lazy boys have a lever that flips up, some have an o ring that pulls up, and some have clip releases like in this video
Where can I find a replacement tension spring for my recliner? It looks like its an overall 6.25" / 12" extended or installed. Its a 34 turn coil With a long hook on one end & the hooks are 90 degrees from each other and its a .65" diameter coil. Oh and the length of just the coil without the hooks is 3.25". Amazon doesnt appear to have this spring

My husband was helping me get it back to upright,but I forgot to release the latch on the side. Now it won't close at all. It was about $2000 more than 20 years ago, so its good quality. Do we have to buy a new mechanism or can the other one be removed and straightened. Where would we get a new mechanism? We would be happy to pay for your assistance

Mine dont need all that. I'm not sure my parts name. Lazy boy electronic recliner, USB port counsel. Footrest got caught on something going down. A safety mechanism popped out both sides. A little clip, with lil arc to go between the arms, under, in front. Can I send you email somewhere, to show u pic of part. It looks like just snap back on, but I don't want to force it. No videos, shows my part, etc. I don't even need to remove springs. Looks very simple, but I don't want to force. I don't want service to come out. Ty
Very informative video but I cannot get past the first part where you take out the first 4 screws to remove it from the frame. it is like they are glued in!
plus, I did not receive the entire bottom as a replacement. I only got the side pieces so in addition to your instructions, I need to separate the side (mechanism) pieces from the 3 cross bars, including the round one that is connected with a cotter pin.

I purchased a Homestretch recliner model 1069316 recliner last year. The other day the spring on the left side of the recliner (as you sit in it) that keeps the leg part down or up broke. I called Homestretch's office and explained my problem. They sent me two springs (I only needed one). There were no instructions on which connection points the spring goes on. There are several you can use but if you use the wrong one you can break the new spring. I have called Homestretch and ask for a diagram 3 times now and no one would bother sending me the diagram. I don't know who is running Homestretch but their customer service is crap. Anyone else have problems with this company. Is this a public company or private? Who is the president and what is his direct phone number.

We have the recliners with the round base, they are called rocking/swiveling models I am guessing. They are pretty wobbly from side to side when you are sitting in one. Needless to say the cheap square metal on the bottom snapped in two and it would no longer lock in place properly. Chair was raised higher towards the rear then our non broken model, while reclining my girlfriend almost fell out the back of it when it lowered near to the floor. Sad they make such "cheap" mechanisms out of what looks like galvinized or painted aluminum brackets. However we are not going to pay La-Z-Boy prices at $2,000 a piece as some say they still use particle board and they are all MADE IN CHINA and not in the USA. The chair itself is in good shape the mechanism is cheap and not sure if it's worth replacing it. I have seen other models with square bottoms so they sit better on the floor, La-Z-Boy also has small legs on each corner to keep them from being wobbly side to side. Not sure if I could find something comparable for less as there are so many "mfgs" and probably get their models from the same Chinese factory everyone else does.

Sir, thank you for showing how to remove this undercarriage mechanism. Tomorrow I'm taking apart this beautiful 5 year old Pallisar reclining sofa, and putting it out with the garbage. It will be so much easier to get out the door in pieces. This sofa lost all of it seat support in 4 years. Sad, what a waste of money for an expensive leather sofa. I don't even have a hefty weight using it!

why can't a person just fix the release cable? If a piece on the engine broke does it require replacing the entire entire engine...This guy fails to address the problem...which cause me to suspect THIS GUY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK HE IS DOING..
We are showing how to replace the mechanism in case the entire mechanism breaks. If the cable is the only thing that breaks, then you would just replace the cable of course, but if the entire mechanism is warped or faulty, then this shows how to change out that mechanism.
