Thanks for the kind words, Rob! I love doing the violin sections. Especially when I've also suffered in the previous race, feels therapeutic. I was lucky on this one to avoid those Haas assets!
The classical music was exquisite! I liked the constructor focus section - RBR and FER are no longer a set-and-forget constructor pairing. I'm running LEC - TSU - MAG - HUL - ZHO - RBR - FER with a team value of 112.3M and 3 free transfers. Currently, my favourite team is LEC - STR - TSU - MAG - HUL - MCL - FER, but if RBR looks strong in Canada I could easily run LEC - TSU - OCO - MAG - HUL - RBR - FER (choosing OCO over GAS because of the grid penalty, so OCO can get extra overtakes and positions gained).
Thanks for the feedback! Ocon looks a good option, though I'm not sure il be able to fit him in. I'm leaning MCL FER as a base and likely PIA with either SAI or LEC. Great budget increase potential with those guys as we saw in Monaco.
@@potpanmanF1 Yeah, those B-tier drivers can easily rise 1M with a strong performance. And you can probably move to a VER - RBR - FER team with 3 free transfers making it quite flexible. One thing against those builds is that I don't think Monaco is a very normal race! I think at races with more overtakes we will see the normalised points less skewed, with more midfielders rising 0.5M and less of the top guys rising 1M.
Lec Pia build with MCL and Fer for me is the way to go to get 3/4 chances for 1.0 M increases. I still think building budget is important right now and those are 1.0M increase options easily could get another 5 or 6 million out of options like that alone on top of budget drivers that could add 0.5M each week here or there on top of that. Basically put yourself in a position to be able to afford RB, MCL, and/or Ferrari alongside two high priced drivers from each team whichever emerges as the creme de la creme over the next month or so before all the drivers from those teams are above 25 M in value. For me trying to find a meta is no longer the focus it's trying to exploit high value drivers that still have 1.0M increase potential based on their value which currently for me exists of Lec, Sai, and Pia when it comes to drivers until they each reach over 25M. Been working out well for me taking this different approach. Edit* Also Alonso is a value trap. I've had him alongside Leclerc & previously alongside Norris thinking Alo is way undervalued relatively to his performance abilities b/c normally I'd rate him as good as all the above 20 M drivers in ability but in that car he's literally shat the bed the past several races. He's very tempting to make your lead "budget" driver if you can afford it but he's been straight riff raff and not delivering whenever I've inserted him. At least for me.
I like the conviction in what you're saying! I think budget building is definitely important and with MCL emerging as potential best team on any given week, it makes sense to include PIA alongside either SAI or LEC. no other assets in that region are trustworthy or they just cost too much so won't benefit from any big price changes. We'll see how practice goes but I'm leaning to the MCL FER base for this one. RED already saying it'll be tough for them (though I doubt as bad as Monaco) and with rain in the mix, could lead to a FER or MCL winner for sure!
@@potpanmanF1 I actually think rain is bad for MCL and FER because probably all drivers will be told to stay off the slippery painted curbs by their teams which actually favours Max and his current RB situation with curbs especially considering Max is probably the best wet weather driver on the grid (although Lando & Lewis might have something to say about that). But who knows mate I'm looking forward to finding out where the cards fall this weekend just as much as you. Gonna be very interesting indeed.
Honestly Tom, I'd love you to officiate my funeral proceedings....I don't think anyone could do a better job Probably will just be sticking with my LEC PIA FER MCL. The only swap I could see is maybe Bottas to Gasly? The weird thing in our budget range is if you go for a VER MCL FER build you're in a no mans land of having TSU and 4 million left in the bank. in other words...no good 15 million dollar options as far as drivers go... Welcome back from the stag do! ( i love saying that phrase!)
😂😂 Thanks, Michael 😂😂 Looks like you were sensible and went with the heavy MCL/FER build already so you're ahead of the game there. Unless RED can show real promise I'll likely wildcard into that set up. And thanks! Had a great time on the stag! 🦌
Colour schemes, I wonder if people's sensory things and whatnot are just very different, I CAN read the green writings (with white around it on black background), but the red is much easier for whatever reason. I only write this because you asked, not complaining! Otherwise, great content!!
The -163 team!! I shouldn't say this but it did make me laugh, smile, such bad luck. And why would anyone run triple Haas, crazy! Having said that I ran HUL and MAG in Monaco, plus RED, meaning that I only got just over 100! I plan to move to MCL, FER, VERx2 base for the rest of the season. Want to get rid of PER as input as constructor or driver . I love the violin and the driver / team analysis that you do. Especially insightful in this video was the 87 pitstop points for RED v MCL with only 6 points. It does show the importance of RED.
Both very tight. Bottas now similar pricem I think I prefer Zhou still has he's 2nd for overtakes and positions gained compared to BOT in 14th. Zhou is consistent good overtaker where the budget guys earn their points
Ahhh mate, at least you didn't have any Hass teammates, it could have been a LOT worse 😅 What do you think about Merc as a constructor now? They seem to be scoring around 40 points each race, so not bad, and their budget potential is pretty good now since McLaren is in the A tier now
Yeah, I mentioned mercs in the video and I don't like them unless they can push for wins or at least podiums. I think the points loss from owning them doesn't outweigh the budget gain unless they show they can compete with the top 3 teams. And yeah, I count my blessings I avoided Haas entirely 😅
@@potpanmanF1 yeah sorry I posted that just before I heard you talk about it in the video 🤦 I can currently afford a team with Max and Lec, with Merc and Ferrari. Wondering how strong it would be.. Anyway. Great video, love the new graphics 👌
I did an amazing week in Monaco, Lec Pia Bot Zho and Alb, Ferrari McLaren so dodging every DNF, making a lot of profit as well, so seeing all those terrible scores made me very surprised
Negative points for DNS, DNF and DNQ are a joke, Hulk -32 just because Haas, Magnussen and Perez are at fault makes no sense at all but it is what it is. I would award negative points only if a driver causes a crash and is penalized for that by the stewards and also negative points for the team as a constructor if the mess up like Haas in Monaco.
Totally… my son had a -90! He completely lost interest in F1 Fantasy overnight. This is not rocket science… just look how well MotoGP run their fantasy game, which allows for much closer competition despite numerous crashes over a race week-end in both Sprint and GP.
Love the format/colour scheme, Tom! Violin feature is objectively the best and most unique segment from any Fantasy creator I have ever seen

but doesn't ocon have a 5 place grid penalty because of his incident in monaco? i feel that might be harmful if you put him on

Feel like I should go McLaren,Ferrari and not Redbull. But, that depends sooo much on Perez

Yeah the points system (especially for dsq and DNF) needs a massive review. Really hope they change it for 2025
