    that's actually a brilliant idea to wear the watch for a week before giving a review! beautiful watch! I completely feel you when it comes to missing the date function! does the crown ever bother you in its placement?

      Hey thanks Bill, I’m looking forward to your one week review of the ERA Hyperion! Not having a date on a dress watch is fine, but having the date on a field watch like this one makes sense, for such as multi day expeditions and treks! As for the crown the 4 o clock position does work well on such a watch as it does not stick out so far, so less likely to catch on such as a tree branch or rock - or stick into your own wrist while passing such obstacles!

    I have this exact same watch/colorway as well and my nits are the same as yours; hate the ghost date wheel, but at least I don't have to set the date. Non-lumed arabics....well, that one's our fault, but honestly I wasn't thinking that there wouldn't be lumed arabics on a white dial when I bought the watch, but, in retrospect, maybe Boldr might have tried the dicey move of having faux patinated arabics loaded with lume to make up for things. Or, not.
    Other than that, though, it's a very accurate watch for a mechanical, and solidly built. Thanks for a great review, looking forward to more from your channel.

      Thanks for your comments. A few possible improvements, but overall a good watch at a really good price. Also have you seen some of the special editions of the Venture that BOLDR have brought out recently - well worth checking out!! 👍

      @@OnetoWatch I have! I wonder if microbrand partnerships w/ others will really spruce things up a bit as there would be two inputs to design and final product, or at least a secondary dial layout or colorway that is quite different from the original.

    Getting all posh now with the video editing mate! The video looks good, shame I can’t say that about the watch. This one does absolutely nothing for me I’m afraid. What’s with the height? 14mm for a simple 3 hander at 38mm? If it had domed crystal I could half understand it as the case would be around 11/12mm. That height with the small case diameter just looks wrong. Plus, as you said, it needs a date function. This ones a miss for me, sorry.

      Thank you Chris, on this my third video review instead of doing everything in one shoot, I decided to use some editing software as most other reviewers do. So hopefully, I'm showing progression and starting to look more professional now. As for the watch it won't suit everyone as it is a simple three hander with no date or bezel. But I did like it as an all round watch that is comfortable to wear being made of light titanium and having a small case size. As I said in the video it would be ideal for trips/holidays as it is tough and 200m water resistance for the field, beach etc; and also good looking to wear out for a meal or the pub in the evening. The quality, materials used and attention to detail from BOLDR for the prices that they sell their watches has got to be commended! I took the 14mm from the BOLDR website as my digital caliper is currently estranged from me - but one reviewer did measure it to be 12mm. I think it looks more like 12mm and because of its shapely stepped case it wears more like 10mm to 11mm, so the thickness should not be thought of as an issue.

    • @chrisp3330
      @chrisp3330 4 года назад +1

      12mm would make a lot more sense - it still doesn't hold a candle to the Expedition but, then again, its in a different price bracket so probably unfair to compare. I think it would make a great proposition for a lot of people, just not me.

    It is a nice watch but it reminds me too much the Khaki from Hamilton

    • @OnetoWatch
      @OnetoWatch  3 года назад +2

      Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Yes the dial is very similar, it does remind me of the Khaki a fair bit too. But the case is a different shape, with shorter lugs which makes it wear a bit smaller. Also the titanium makes the case more grey coloured instead of silver. The main advantage with this Venture is the 200m WR, I think most Khaki’s are 50m or 100m - for what I do with the watch 50m wouldn’t be ideal!
