Grazie (Thank you). Such beautiful lyrics. Someone who loves, caught up in the moment. Hoping, against hope, that it will last, forever. That raindrops, on the meadow, won't dry up, despite the rainbow. And, even if they do, that the rain will return, after they may have evaporated.
Jan - this is just beautiful. My son was married recently and he asked me if there was a song he and his bride could dedicate to his dad and I when the dancing started. To this place upon the meadow.
We'll walk out in the rain,
See the birds above singing once again
Oh, you hold me in your arms,
And say once again you love me,
And if your love is true,
Everything will be just as wonderful.
You'll hold me in your arms,
And say once again you'll love me,
And if your love is true,
Everything will be just as wonderful.
Thank you Johann Sebastian Bach for this musical composition. Thank you Toys for making it an awesomely beautiful love song from my youth.
Thank you, Christian Petzold! He wrote the minuet; Bach’s wife copied it into her notebook; Bach gets the credit! What’s up with that?
Pezold
I recall that at least one of The Toys mistakenly thought that the minuet was composed by Mr. Bach, when it was in fact composed by Christian Petzold.
Christian Petzold actually. But Bach put it in a notebook for his wife, which made the piece famous.
@@Herman47 - At the time, it was believed to be Bach, but now it's known to be Christian Petzold (1677-1733).
I love this song. I remember hearing it while Mom played music. Now I'm 65 and I listen to it.
I love this song. No matter who the singer is. There's so many version of this song. It's very meaningful. And its an old 🎵 song ❤️
This was my favorite song back in the 1800's 🥰
These young 20th Century whipper-snappers and their new-fangled electric doodads can't beat a good harpsichord or fortepiano, that's for sure.
How gentle is the rain
That falls softly on the meadow?
Birds high up in the trees
Serenade the flowers with their melodies
Oh-oh, see, there beyond the hill
The bright colors of the rainbow
Some magic from above
Made this day for us, just to fall in love
Now, I belong to you
From this day until forever
Just love me tenderly
And I'll give to you every part of me
Oh-oh, don't ever make me cry
Through long, lonely nights without love
Be always true to me
Keep this day in your heart eternally
Someday we shall return
To this place upon the meadow
We'll walk out in the rain
Hear the birds above singing once again
Oh-oh, you hold me in your arms
And say once again you love me
And if your love is true
Everything will be just as wonderful
You'll hold me in your arms
And say once again you love me
And if your love is true
Everything will be just as wonderful
You'll hold me in your arms
And say once again you love me
And if your love is true
Grazie (Thank you).
Such beautiful lyrics. Someone who loves, caught up in the moment. Hoping, against hope, that it will last, forever. That raindrops, on the meadow, won't dry up, despite the rainbow. And, even if they do, that the rain will return, after they may have evaporated.
Love it
11 years old when this came out. Instantly feel in love with it. Still love it today. Takes me back. Thanks.
There is nothing better than turn the clock back and enjoy the sound of old school music I grew up in the best era of music
One of my favorite 60's songs
Kevin Clements one of my all time favorite songs.
Mine too
Ok...once again...always...I love you...forever. Love lives forever.
Jan - this is just beautiful. My son was married recently and he asked me if there was a song he and his bride could dedicate to his dad and I when the dancing started. This was my choice - so perfect for the occasion, and there was hardly a dry eye in the house when we took to the floor after the bridal waltz and this sweet song started up
Beautiful, timeless classic from The Toys, "Lover's Concerto!" So many talented black artists from undoubtedly the BEST era of music. The hits from the 1960's defined a generation and revolutionized the music industry.
