I hope Kichipa flies out more event since Zangief is viable again. One of the most promising young players at the horizon.
Akuma is way too overpowered. Ridiculous move sets.
Considering the balance differences, Zangief is the winner for me.
This was a great match, tokido as always playing godlike knowing the MU very well. Kichipa almost looking like he's not playing SFV, there were barely any jump ins, corner cary or 50/50, just honest ground game, footsies, wiff punishing.
Aluna doesn't really have 50/50s or resets that lead to any damage
It's pretty sad that all Zangief ever gets to do with a crush counter is.....a kick
Yeah once in a while he can get a spd in, but not often enough. Yet so many other characters are able to get in full combos their crush counters.
Zangief should be able to pull off combo into a command grabs like he can with his super. (Thankfully he can at least do that)
To at least give him some different shit. Like maybe combo "linking" a command grab arm bar into a command grab body slam that can be done with an a ex input. OR maybe a linkng grab from a jump in attack, say jump MP into a command grab.
OR maybe an anti air that can then combo into a command grab body toss. OR may if you connect with the Lariat spin, then input a command grab for a spinning body toss.
Watching Akuma (and many others) pull off ex move combo into ex move over and over. Yet Zangief gets and EX for 2 grabs.
2.5 grabs if you wanna call the air spd a "different" move.
If he supposed to be a "grappler" it would be nice to see Zangief get new grappling effects to at least match the move set outputs of so many other zoning characters.
I say give him a fire ball or a atomic collider move like iron tager so people will be scared to jump in he should at least get some counters

actually im a big fan of Akuma since his first appearance in SSF2T, but this is ridiculous. Too much Tools, Buttons are too good, Combo potential, Damage...as if Tokido send capcom a whishlist...an they fullfiled EVERY OF THEM...i mean look at this bs 19:08 even the scaling is broken af

I see that outrageous combo, but as a Ryu player, I'm doing simple 'max' combos like st.mp~cr.hp~special move lol. Seems like some characters have more attention to detail than others when it comes to combos.
He had to spend 2 bars , i mean he got rewarded for doing that

Darkreapah psn he‘s been nerfed every patch lmao the only real buff was his health getting to 900 from 875(I don‘t know why though). Cammy on the other hand bruh was just getting buffed cleanly, even getting new moves lol
She got hit with the nerf hammer? wtf are you talking about, acting like she got hit like ryu in s1. She still a good char, capitalize on her good things (unwhiffpunishable fucking medium buttons) instead of crying for unnecessary shit. The only thing akuma needs to get nerfed is his b hp anti air(just as an anti air though, the button on the ground is fine as is)
And are you guys serious? The dude got a jumping FIERCE combo IN THE CORNER, using two bars, so what is broken about that scaling?
How about you guys learn some street fighter and get some akuma mu knowledge.

Evolve Some Pie Vt-2, akuma can cancel ex moves using v-gage instead of ex meter and it allows for combos that normally wouldn‘t be possible.

The footsies game of these 2 is incredible. Tokido is a master at putting pressure, gotta admire that on him.
Akuma always been a better character than zangief. Zangief has so many bad mu.

@@Dudee845 He's ALWAYS had to work hard, he's a 50/50 char. Once he gets close to you, or puts you in the corner you're basically dead.
@@GANTH0RtheGREAT at least in sf4 he had green hand to make it a little easier now they give him the highest jump ever to get in look at guiles jump why can't zangief be that short. But they want zangief to have a gard time his dash in is noticible his jump ins is noticible. This is why itazan switched to abigail. Gief sucks in this game. Ever since itazan a skilled person who made gief look good. He's been doing way better in tournaments. I was tired of him making top 8 with gief many times but loosing because his character sucks.

All Capcom have to do is buff all characters. The worst that can happen is a character will be a little too strong but Rashid bison and ibuki can be beat and they are ridiculous. Make everyone viable.
Is rashid a bad matchup for gief? I hate playing against rashid like as I don't know how to punish him. I'm not new to SF but I'm new to 5 and I don't know the match ups well

Great player for zangief. I guess that's why itabashi always rules with zangief because he pressures the opponent. Once tokido presses this zangief player pretty much gives up.

Not about the timing, gief needs a solid anti air. Mika and Alex have anti air specials on reaction, gief is a hard read. Down fierce trades at best and standing lp was nerfed with the whole cast. Vskill is almost the best option for defending a jump in if you're gief, especially since you can backdash now.
Bullshit....Gief’s lariat is an easyass anti-air to pull off with a press of a 1 button if you wanted to by going to option controller....leave as is.....in addition to a anti-air jab that still works with opponents jumping in🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

I just wish he still had his green hand. I'm not new to SF but I'm new to SFV I just started. I had no choice but to play it even though I don't like it. I don't know the matchup and I'm a noob but gief needs better anti air. I play Ryu as well and his anti is so good. When I play gief my lariat to get interrupted often. But yeah it is about timing as well. What are gief's wakeup option? Just ex spd?
