Ricky Steamboat's return blew me away, to see a man of his age moving around the ring like he could was mind blowing. The guy has to be one of it not the most athletically gifted performers the industry has every had.
Wrestlemania and backlash he faced Jericho one on one. Steamboat said the only reason he did it was because he was working for the wwe at the time and he was in the ring for 20 minute practice matches with up and coming talent. It wasn’t like he was out of the ring or anything. You can be wrestler until you’re 70. It’s been done plenty of times and I’m no not Ric flair. The original sheik did it
For me, it's HBK's second run. Not many people can safely say they had a redemption story like Shawn did. He was unbearable during the 90s, one of the most notoriously difficult politicians behind the scenes. After his back injury healed up and he returned in 2002, it was plain to see he had a lot left to prove. I fondly remember his second run and personally herald it as the greatest comeback in the history of WWE.
My vote, as the best return, goes to HBK, Shawn Michaels.. Coming back to to WWE, clean and changed, was there for all to see.. When he won the WWE championship, one could see that THAT Shawn became a better version of himself, a humble version of himself and for that, I have nothing but the utmost admiration and respect.. #HBK
Edge's return has honestly been the best. Out of all of the comebacks, his was seen as the least likely and we've seen dream matches with Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, AJ Styles and Finn Balor
Edge's return will always be special for me. It's so nostalgic. Maybe I'm a bit bias but those like me who grew up in that era can admit that his royal rumble return on 2020 made some of us shed a tear when we heard that "You think you know me?". It's just unfortunate that we enter the pandemic lockdown soon after his return. WWE became a no crowd/audience show because of that and sometime later he got injured that kinda stopped his momentum. But still a good return if you ask me, with great feuds against roman and seth. I just hope he can face John Cena on wrestlemania 1 on 1 before he retires like an icing on the cake on their great rivalry before.
Brock’s comeback is the greatest hands down, Breaking the streak, Squashing Cena and Orton, Holding the universal title for 500+ days, eliminating the first half of the 2020 Royal Rumble by himself, main eventing damn near every Summerslam since he’s been back…yea it’s not even close
Difference with that was Brock's comeback was the way he left. Unlike some of the best on this list, he wasn't forced out of the ring due to injury; he just left to do something else, in his prime. The money and schedule were good and they booked him as a god (besides his first match back, where he lost to Cena, but let's forget about that like everyone else seems to lol), that's all.
I'm a life long Steve Austin fan. When he stepped into that ring for the first time in 19 years I was 18 again. I never thought I'd see my favorite wrestler, well, wrestle again, but I got to see Steve win one more match and look good doing it. For me, the return of Stone Cold Steve Austin is the absolute best.
@John Rambo.A.D Personally I think Austin should have lost. He didn't gain anything by defeating KO. Kevin would have benefited greatly if he won against Stone Cold
Sid’s second run as Sycho Sid was definitely one of the best comebacks, he became one of the greatest heels of the late 90s and won the WWF championship twice at that time period.
@@JimmyBond85 same, I wasn’t born when he was still wrestling full time but I fell in love with his character when I saw him, he just looked like he could actually murder someone in the ring.

I remember watching Edge coming to the ring through the crowd in the '98 and then forming the Brood with Gangrel and his "brother", Christian. Something told me, then even though he's FAR from the biggest dude on the roster, he was going to be a main eventer. his main event push was years overdue!
Shawn’s second run is better than his first and truly solidified him as a legend even though he mostly was putting others over second time around. He wouldn’t be remembered in the same way without that run. He would just be another guy who was at the top of the card for a few years while also being notoriously remembered for his backstage politics.

You can add Carlito to this list he returned twice at the royal rumble and at wrestlemania backlash to help out Bad Bunny he had the biggest pops for both returns 🔥🔥
What makes Rock and Austin all time greats is their peak was the highest, not the longest, nobody got sick and tired of watching them.. they left when we still wanted more..
Goldberg and Lesnar is largely seen as boring and annoying creative decisions, but damn if it wasn’t badass to see them wrestle. The two thing they got right: 1) Seeing Brock Lesnar get blown out in a match is insane and is powerful pop stuff. 2) Goldberg is the one dude who could come out and rock Lesnar hard and fast enough to just go for an MMA style full-frontal offense. If Orton or Cena did it, we’d call action figures. Goldberg looks like he can take out a brick wall, let alone Lesnar.
REAL TALK: i work for an internet provider in TAMPA. i did a job at Jinder Mahal's house, while he was out with an injury. Dude was ripped, veins popping. Natural or otherwise, idk, but damn
I feel like I’m the only one who thinks that Jinder title run was fine. He looked the part and was a hateful heel champion with stooges, it worked. It was more interesting than runs from kofi, big E,lashley and most of ortons runs
Honestly I think Roman's return(s) should be included. Once he came back from leukemia, he seemed to finally figure out how to get over and now...well, just look at him
Daniel Bryan and edge and Austin have the greatest comeback in my opinion because they all was really hurt and said they might not wrestle again but they found a way

@@irfan7395 AEW not enough?
even with his guest appearances from time to time, it felt like edge practically came back from the dead
Need more year in review vids please
Wrestle With Andy Is Awesome 😎
Jinder Mahal’s rise to the title is so awesome
Bryans and edge was just such big feelgod moments. And they are still going strong, especially bryan who is great in the ring
You can add Carlito to this list he returned twice at the royal rumble and at wrestlemania backlash to help out Bad Bunny he had the biggest pops for both returns 🔥🔥
The most unexpected
Edge at the 2020 Royal Rumble
What makes Rock and Austin all time greats is their peak was the highest, not the longest, nobody got sick and tired of watching them.. they left when we still wanted more..
For me Bryan and McIntyre were great, edge was cool too!
The rock match with cena 2014 is imprinted in my mind, one of the best match, reminds my childhood
Cobra Kai sound track for the Steamboat part lol
Thanks Andy 👑
Undertaker multiple returns, ric flair, triple h, atleast honorable mentions.
U gotta love a great return☺
To think that the 3MB members had 2 champions before the New Day had 2 champions. It's funny to think about😂
Thanks for including jinder.... He deserves it
i didnt know steamboat returned, i gotta watch him vs y2j
No one remember 🤣🤣
Amazing Video ❤️❤️
Nice 👌 informative
Eddie guerreros return in 2002 was amazing
Goldberg and Lesnar is largely seen as boring and annoying creative decisions, but damn if it wasn’t badass to see them wrestle. The two thing they got right:
1) Seeing Brock Lesnar get blown out in a match is insane and is powerful pop stuff.
2) Goldberg is the one dude who could come out and rock Lesnar hard and fast enough to just go for an MMA style full-frontal offense. If Orton or Cena did it, we’d call action figures. Goldberg looks like he can take out a brick wall, let alone Lesnar.
Ric flair from the early 2000s to his retirement match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania
This is why Undertaker is the GOAT because he was here for 30 years straight
REAL TALK: i work for an internet provider in TAMPA. i did a job at Jinder Mahal's house, while he was out with an injury. Dude was ripped, veins popping. Natural or otherwise, idk, but damn
Shawn Michaels...ah yes....one of few wrestlers to make a best return AND worst return
Lesner? Cmoon :D youre professional, proofread your stuff!
Second. And Andy do Ronda Rousey
Can you do the wwe in the 2002 a year in review please.
HBK in his prime vs bryan danielson in his prime
When cody retuned ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Brock's music is the most hype. When he first appeared back in WWE after quitting UFC the crowd reaction was far superior than any other comebacks
I feel like I’m the only one who thinks that Jinder title run was fine. He looked the part and was a hateful heel champion with stooges, it worked. It was more interesting than runs from kofi, big E,lashley and most of ortons runs
aj lee, kelly kelly and trish stratus >>>
Drew, HBK, and Edge’s comebacks are S tier
Honestly I think Roman's return(s) should be included. Once he came back from leukemia, he seemed to finally figure out how to get over and now...well, just look at him
All of them are great returns
If this video was hosted by Vince McMahon ,it would have been a total different story
Austin was great too, maybe he could do one more match.
Daniel Bryan and edge and Austin have the greatest comeback in my opinion because they all was really hurt and said they might not wrestle again but they found a way
I really wish wwe gives Drew his moment in this year's WrestleMania... He deserves a WrestleMani moment in front of the crowd.
Awesome
