This episode has opened up a lot of good points for discussion. It would be interesting to have a follow-up with actual pen testers and AI developers to hear their side of the story!

As someone in the cyber field, this episode really resonated with me. It's important to highlight both the good and bad, and you guys didn’t pull any punches about the difficulties with pen testing vendors

Agree 100% about certs. Pieces of paper are useless compared to raw technical ability and the desire to improve. Also, agree that CS needs to be a bit more prescriptive and collaborative in how to resolve or mitigate vulnerabilities. It’s not easy either way.
Should say that since the amount of vulns, particularly 0 day, is something that has sky rocketed, it is all a work in progress. Luckily though I have a great relationship with my CS team and it’s something that we are doing a great job to define what this will look like and how we handle it.

I appreciate the critical take on AI in cybersecurity tools. There's so much noise about AI being the fix-all solution, and it’s vital to discuss the realities and limitations

Good work Leo. I quite agree around business's expectations of young technical people: the emphasis on technical badges at application isn't the safety net they think it is when hiring. Someone with good PS experience could be worth their weight in gold in an inexperienced small team vs a 50m Cyber Swimming Certificate and no real life.

Great discussion on pen testing vendors. It’s such a complicated relationship with them, isn't it?

Great advice Samuel. Maybe suggest some certs as you mentioned experience routes.

This episode was spot on with its critical approach to AI. It’s important to stay informed about the reality versus the marketing. More tech deep dives, please!

The skepticism around AI in cybersecurity tools was a highlight for me. It's refreshing to hear a take that doesn't just buy into all the AI hype. Curious to hear more about traditional methods that still work.

Could you delve deeper into how professionals can effectively evaluate pen testing services? It's a topic that many of us in the industry struggle with.
