In regards to the M3, in Australia there was a scam many moons ago, where thieves would steal a car, strip it, and dump the empty shell on a suburban street, the city or insurance companies would eventually tow the shell of the car to a yard for accessing and paperwork, then that empty shell would be sold off to regain some costs at a public auction, this is where thieves would be waiting to buy the shell back and legally own the VIN number car, then it was off to the shop, to be but back together. The only reason it was found out was that the thieves would put the heavy on people at the auction to stop people buying and bidding on their target, but one day they tried to heavy an off duty police officer.
That M3 was definitely not stripped on the road. A job like this takes ages, noone would pull of such a professional and clean job in the middle of the road. I suspect it's from the bodyshop and just stored there on the street.
@@effspot common for shady body shops to do this. Sometimes they'll bill insurance for the parts and then go out and steal them for no cost making insane profit, or they'll rebuild someone's car under the table and use stolen parts with or without the other parties knowledge
That M3 was turned into the Flintstones car! They even took the transmission. Gordon don't touch stuff like that, don't want your fingerprints anywhere near that lol.
No way! I lived in NJ near Turnersville. There is an Auto Mall in Turnersville NJ with a BMW dealer there. It's just outside Philadelphia. I worked in a car dealership before and what they do is finance or lease a vehicle with stolen identity. Then they will take the vehicle someplace and strip it, then dump the body. sometimes the police department recovers the vehicle shell, then they will be sold at auction. The people that dumped the car can buy the shell, and get a clean title. It's a salvaged title, then they can rebuild the car. The reason they bought it in NJ and drove it to CA is because the limited resources of the police departments in NJ and small places. They won't go to CA to investigate crime.
@@k1nGzSt3r I highly doubt it. The license plate frame is TURNERSVILLE which is a local NJ town that has a bunch of dealers in an automall, including BMW. I doubt some is going to fake a NJ plate, and a NJ license plate frame. Turnersville NJ is 10 minutes outside of Philadelphia. There are known Philly car theft rings that do this scam all over the area. They finance a vehicle using fake credentials. They drive away with a car and it takes a few days for them to realize it's a fake identity, and by that time the cars are stripped and sitting on blocks, in CA. They might have to spend $3000 or $4000 as down payment or something, but they drive away with a $50,000 car. Pretty good deal to me.

I used to have a red Hyundais Genesis Coupe 3.3 V6 with the brembos. It was found in texas exactly like that BMW M3 except mine had no hood, trunk lid, lights, wheels, brakes, entire dash, carpets and some of the suspension. Sometimes I think about buying another one. Fun car. Sad to see the bimmer like that, but it's a perfect canvas to build a beast race car.
Effspot can you make an LA Visitors guide? I want to go on vacation there and have as much fun as you do filming these videos. I want to know when/where to be to see cool cars and weird things
The street scene at 2:48 is fully set up with 1980s cars, some high-end and others not. They even scored a Chrysler K-car - the beige wagon just behind the Lambo - which is one of my go-to markers of cars often missing from period pieces even though they were absolutely everywhere in the '80s into the '90s. Edit; the GMC RTS bus in SCRTD livery was probably also there for the same production. I wonder if it's part of Metro's historic fleet or owned by a private collector.
My dad lost power, later heard a bunch of trucks in the ally, checked it out , the transformer fell off the pole and had oil everywhere , they didn't use treated wood when the transformer was replaced and termites had lunch
