      Get a High CFM Electric Fan that pulls air not pushes. Then install them on the door then you can remove that mechanical one that doesnt cool hardly at all. I would get one for the top rad and a smaller set of 2 for the other small rad then drop in a couple temp relays and fuses. That will solve your heat issues. One thing I did to my old school Skid steer I found on a Farm and rescued was I removed the head liner built a frame and installed 4 computer server fans they come in a quad setup. You want to talk about staying pretty cool in the cab.... Total Life saver. Anyways Liking the new Skid Steer and content. Paint that thing Tonks Orange and Blue.

    If the fan is drawing air in from the rear and pushing the air towards the operator it's the wrong fan. It should be pushing the hot air out the back of the skidsteer.

    • @TheHomePros6221
      @TheHomePros6221  2 года назад +4

      it’s pushing air out the back of the skidsteer but without a fan shroud it doesn’t flow through the rad like it should

    You got that little machine humming like a beauty, well done. As your skills improve you will be able to extend its capability. There’s no two ways about it, without your tenacity that little machine was destined for the scrap yard. I think you will be a good team and that yard of yours will wonder what the heck hit it. Love that the first thing you do on your jobs is hit them with the power cleaner and secondly that you replace suspect hp oil lines before putting it to use. Pat on the back, that was an awesome job

    My dad had rockers that came loose like that in a 396 once. Couldn't figure out why they continually worked their way loose. Turns out the new oil pump he installed was bad right out of the box. No lubrication across the lobes of the cam cause the lifters to all wear down, creating bigger and bigger gaps across the valves. When he pulled the lifters and lined them up next to each other they looked like a bar graph. The main difference between his situation and yours would probably be that there were plenty of shavings in the pan.

    Nice work. Aluminum is worse for heat transfer efficiency than copper, but not clogged trumps clogged.

    You probably want to replace the foam used on your radiator brackets with some harder black foam or buna N rubber material. That soft spongy foam door gasket material won’t last long. But, kudos to your work and creativity.

    What a piece of junk it was when you brought it home, but you certainly turned it around. Looks like a pretty nice skid steer now. Congratulations!

    Without being to nosey I was wondering how many hours it took took to get it like it is now and over what period. Week or month or whatever and what you’ve got in it now after all of the wiring and replacement parts. There’s a skid steer by me that I thought about trying to buy and get it working again. Again another great job and video.

    Your skid steer is named Al, and it identifies as a backhoe. Nice work.

    You should also consider a Quick release system. When you get other attachments for your skid steer it will make changing attachments that much quicker and enjoyable!
