- Recently parts of the barrier island in Ocean county New Jersey were reopened to non residents. You still cannot travel the entire length of Route 35. The devastation is astounding. Haunting music is Emancipator, Soon it Will be Cold Enough. Wonderful music.

We go to Ortley Bch area daily as volunteers! have been clearing out homes for people in need. are tying to get every home cleaned n cleared!We meet @9am, @EMS Station in Orltey Bch (6th&Railway) done by 3*
yes, its hard work,but such a rewarding day. Removing furniture, sand, sheetrock n floors You are helping folks that are exhausted n overwhelmed!

oh this makes me so sad, ive got tears streaming down my face. I grew up going to Seaside Park every summer, uncle had a house on N street. I've been praying for every one affected..my aunt and uncle live on O street..not sure how much damage they sustained..but to all the people affected, keep your head up, things will get better, God Bless you all! Stay JERSEY STRONG!
I have a home in Ortley Beach and my home was hit hard it well take time but we will be back stronger..we need to keep the faith...GOD TAKE IT AND GOD GIVE IT..

Your home? I am sorry you have to deal with this, it is such a mess still, I was astounded.

So do most people want to move back? If so, is there a movement to do a full scale clean up and rebuild job? Hard to follow from far away but wish we were able to move faster as a nation (not that it's the same but I believe rebuilding at ground zero took about a decade due to seemingly mostly politics). Similar political mess here or are there other issues (eg, health, demand, etc)?
