@@SJFord sure. I LOVED the kit at first. It was amazing. Did tons of research and my main concern was long term quality, but I’d seen enough videos / reviews of ppl who’d had it for six months+ saying no issues, so I took the gamble. A few weeks in, bass drum started missing lots of triggers on double bass. Snare started making weird sounds that were not the snare drum. Cymbals extremely difficult to choke. Then the module started freezing and I couldn’t change drum sets. Since the goal was eventually live performance, there were way too many issues. I wound up going with a Vad506 clearance model that I got for a “decent” price. It was more than I wanted to pay, but the 506 is amazing and I love playing it - zero issues. I also played the 307, and right away I could feel and hear the quality difference. Some of the kits on the Alesis were better, but since u can add ur own and download ones online, not an issue. I’d definitely recommend the 307 as a one step up. Hope this helps b

Traditional drummer for decades. Got my first Roland e-kit in 2017 and they are a blast! They seem overpriced but it will last a very long time if cared for
You can use a stereo splitter to dual mono on the tom inputs if you want to expand. You lose the rim trigger on the tom, but allows you to add other pads/cymbals.
I enjoyed listening to your unique perspective, which I happen to agree with. Roland needs to step up their game in the physical aspects of their kits and offer a better bang for the buck. They seem to offer the least amount of product for the highest price point they can get away with.
I have the alesis striker pro se and besides getting the hi hat tune in its an amazing kit. There customer service is amazing although I'm going through sweetwater.
What do you think about the VAD 307 or the 507? Currently I have the Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit and I really regret the purchase. But my purse is not very thick so the purchase of the VAD 507 would swallow all my money savings so I think about getting the VAD 307.
First and foremost you can buy jua skins for toms and bass drum many kinds out there...more toms and cymbals you can use a Y connector or add another brain or use a (I don't know what they are called) but you can have lots of inputs for it also I suggest using A DAW and ezdrummer 2 that's what I use I have an hybrid 5 piece kit and a td12 kit mounted on stands and 2 TM6 Pro modules as far as recording that is the easy part lookup for songs stems on the net or drumless tracks there is quite a bit of them on youtube (drumless Tracks) slam them in your Daw I use Presonus and whale away.
As a guy who went with Alesis, I can tell you one year later I’m going back to Roland.

Not all Brains will work with just a Y splitter The TM6 Pro will that's what I use.

A perfect set for me looks great on stage easy to move around better than the heavy 506
