    • @kelvinballer23
      @kelvinballer23 9 месяцев назад

      @@ashinshaji2597 it’s been great! I mainly play in 1440p and keeps the settings between medium and high. I easily get over 60fps on most games. If it’s a competitive shooter, I’ll lower the settings for higher fps. If it’s a single player campaign like last of us, I go for higher fidelity. I don’t need 100fps to play that kind of game. The RTX4060 has been a good graphics card. It’s a maxed powered 140W TDP as well. You get every ounce of performance with this unit. I really enjoy the power efficiency. It keeps the laptop not too hot. One the last thing I’ll mention, the laptop has amazing thermals. It has never thermal throttled or overheated. Most games hover between 75-80 for me and sometimes, rarely do I see 90 like some other laptops. Overall I been really happy with it. I don’t plan to upgrade anytime soon. At least for the next 3-5yrs to be honest. I definitely recommend it to anyone!

    I'd love to take the asus, but is the heat issue so serious?
    I love to play games such as Valorant and Watch Dogs and games like COD.
    Also I work on other tasks like running other VMs...
    Which one would you suggest me to take?

    • @TechGuyBeau
      @TechGuyBeau  Год назад +6

      I had both. They are quite different. Benefits of each:
      Legion: bigger chassis, so it runs much cooler. You are able to run the 4060 at lower wattage and it will still perform very well (meaning less noise and heat). The cpu on the legion is the best cpu of 2023 in my opinion. The ram is upgradeable with two sticks. It also has dual nvme slots. The screen is way bigger and it has a better keyboard.
      Asus: it’s smaller. The amd 6800s should perform somewhat similar to the 4060 but will need more heat and watts to get there.
      In short if portability and size is king, the g14 is still a very compelling option. I like the g14 quite a bit. But if you are okay with 16”, the legion sweeps

      why would you like to disable it, its a dedicated chip that does not draw any performance from the computer, hence the added LA1 AI chip.

      @@mashfiqhossainalvi4935 thats why its there. But it only works if you use balanced mode. And for it to be enabled you need to check the box for it in Lenovo Vantage. So if you dont want to use it, dont check the box. But in any case enabled or disabled, its nothing that will hurt the computers performance. =)

    I have a legion slim 5 (7435HS + 4060 + 16 GB single stick - not Dual channel). I tried the same settings you had in Jedi Survivor and i am no way near to the performance you are getting. Following are the numbers.
    - On 1600P, No scaling, FG off, balanced mode and medium settings - 36-37 FPS
    - On 1600P, FG off, balanced mode and Quality DLSS/FSR - 46-47 FPS
    - Increasing to performance mode, increases the GPU utilization a bit but the perfomance gap is not that huge. Even the 1% Lows are lower in my machine. For me, the saving grace is FG. if i turn that on, the game performance is smooth
    In some of the settings the GPU usage is not 100% but VRAM utilization is more than what you showed here.. I am sure what is the bottleneck.. Could it be single channel ram or processer.. I thought 7840HS and 7435 are more or less similar except the iGPU.. Could it be an issue with my device.. any suggestions would be welcome

    • @asp2410
      @asp2410 7 дней назад

      7435 is based on Zen 3, and 7840 on Zen 4. The difference in CPU performance on single core is around 20% if benchmarks are considered so ye, definitely bottlenecked by CPU. And I think single stick Ram could be an issue but if it's DDR5, I'm not sure it matters much because DDR5 by itself runs on dual channel

    • @informationtechnology5098

      @@asp2410i agree that 7435 will have some performance hit but i saw a lot of comparisons where the fps impact between the two CPUs was only like 2-3%. Both CPU and GPU are able to handle the higher level of setting and their utilization is fine but as soon as i decrease setting a bit , i don’t see fps improvement instead gpu usage goes down instead of increase in FPS.. its just weird. As for Ram, i ordered another 16gb so that issues should not come anymore. Lets see

    • @asp2410

      @@informationtechnology5098 I see, hmm.. the GPU usage decrease is weird tho, lowering settings should help with fps immediately too.. how about changing some settings in Nvidia Control panel? There's a power setting in Nvidia which you can change to "Prefer Max performance", i remember changing it because many people said so, it's set to default, maybe that could help? There's a lot more settings you can tweak to get the best out, so do check it.
      I assume you already have lastest drivers and have set windows battery option to best performance mode so there's nothing else that comes to mind

      @@asp2410 Thanks for the suggestion. I am using the latest drivers and windows and other programs are updated as well. I just tried Max power setting on Jedi survivor but it did not help. I also used Hwinfo and did not notice anything throttling. Physical memory usage was around 97% so that might be a factor. Also, i notice a lor of 1%, 0.1% lows causing issues. By lowering settings, i was able to get 70+ FPS on Jedi Survivor but the 1% lows were around 15 FPS and 0.1%

    • @informationtechnology5098

      One more thing.. 4060 is not consistently holding 90+w. Sometimes it goes to 100W and then comes down to 50-60w (Temps are excellent around 60C). i think if it will remain consistently around 80-90W, the 1% and 0.1% lows will be better. In this video, i see 4060 holding a consistent 80W +- 5 w on balanced adn nearly 110W on performance which is giving a very consisent result. Not sure why that is not happenign in my system

      Msi afterburner doesn’t have the 7840hs. It’s a brand new cpu that wasn’t recognized, or the sensors.
      Sometimes afterburner doesn’t allow for monitoring of many parts of a system component. FYI.
