Dude that ffsp looked really bad ass and I am about the pointy! I modded my boss combo and it now also is able to plug into cabinets 😎🤘🏻 ( 30 dollar eBay mod )
I love me some pointy guitars as well. But I’m a huge fan of red and black together, I couldn’t resist! It’s been a while since they restocked it! $30 on eBay was all it cost to mod? What did you have to order?
Ive got the boss katana gen 3 - 2x12 100 watt. No head, just the cube. I dont download none of those pre- settings and so on and i have to admit...it didnt take long to get a Killer sound with whats provided. Loud as hell too!!
@@Lfrm-420 yes just the panel. Honestly brutal tones I've gotten. The only drawback is needing a noise gate or back off the gain a bit. I also have Jeff loomis blackout pickups too- Active...so their hot as it is. But I honestly have things manageable. Now one day I may have to get that noise gate, but for now, I'm cool with the punch.
As an old fart who is pretty new to all this-about 4 years- I like having both the vintage tube amp driven by analog pedals and all the fun sounds I can get from my little modeler (apartment living means 65Dbs max, so I can't really rock out unless it's on headphones). It's the best of both worlds, really as my pedlas cost about $200CAD and my tube amp was $175CAD a couple years ago. My Flamma FA05 amp modeler was $100CAD. Try doing that back in the 70s when I was a teenager. Impossible!
That’s definitely the best of both worlds. And as silly as it may be, I have a full pedal board as well. There’s just something about blending sounds the old school way. Plus it’s hard to emulate expression pedals like the digitech whammy and wah pedals. Something I forgot to mention in the video, you’d need a foot switch to really utilize this amp. So either way you’re stepping on something to change sounds
The Line 6 isn’t in use during my videos. I use it to give height to the guitar head. I also have the red guitar research half stack, but I only use the boss katana/harley Benton combo
I am a beginner but now that I am learning how to CHug a few riffs, I find that my Boss Katana MK2, seems a bit hollow. I enjoy all the built in effects but I cant seem to get the sounds I hear played here on RUclips. I dont know if it is my guitar, a Epiphone Les Paul Standard, or the speaker? I can see how this metal guitar thing can get addicting as I can see myself collecting guitars and amps. I think I need brighter pickups maybe? What do you think I should do?
If I’m not mistaken, it’s a combo amp with only 1 speaker, correct? I think at the very least you need at least a 2x12. But pickups matter too. If you listen to the chug tests, a few guitars have EMGs. The Schecter, and the LTD at the end. Did you prefer those tones?
@@thetattedbaldguydid u use bts or just the panel in this video? Firefly guitars are nice. I got the baritone buckethead lp. Sick af. I love that blk/red one. Sick af
I can't get the thing to be quiet. I did the online noise gate but nope. I've changed up the amps on the app but no. I run the thing hot but it has a ton of noise, squeal, noise.
Is it the same for all guitars or just one with super hot pickups. You might have to adjust the threshold on the online noise gate. Ironically, I’m dropping 2 videos today on the Donner Noise Killer pedal. It was $27 on Amazon. It was surprisingly effective
I think it crazy that the katana has the most power for the money of any power amp. And dont give me crap about the sd powerstage that amp is 200 watts peak power at 4ohms The katana is 100 watts rms at 8ohms
As someone who knows literally nothing about wattage and ohms, having chat gpt break down your jargon was quite an interesting read. In short, it seems that the powerstage can peak at a higher volume but the katana will give off continue volume without distortion or fluctuating. Is that about right?
@@thetattedbaldguyyour pretty much right. Its the way they measure the power of the amp the sd powerstage they run a 1k sinewave through it till it distorts ( whos gona use it that way ) Also ohms is the resistance an thers basically no 4 ohm guitar speakers If you did run the katana at 4ohms it would push around 160 watts So basically the specs of the powerstage are a blatent lie and so are a lot of other class d guitar amps

Digital and solid state has come a long way . Bass has been doing solid state forever.
Nothing mean nothing beats a katana for the tone and the price they are incredible 💯
damn you slayed it, i might have to try one of them harley benton cabs one day
Thanks brotha! That’s greatly appreciated 🫡🤘🏻
@@thetattedbaldguy hey man ever seen those videos of slipknot back in 2004 riffing on them Line 6? you should try that next
I can't imagine going back to when I started having the options we have today. So many options and tubes didn't fully go away.
It’s crazy just how many options there these days. I remember $200 guitars, 25 years ago were total junk
Better title would be "Best rig to use live if you're worried it might get stolen."
That’s one way to put it

@thetattedbaldguy so like Google boss katana mod and it'll pop up. Pretty much a speaker splitter.

You just use the panel?
I’ve heard mixed reviews about the combo. Glad to hear something positive about it. Although the other combos were the 1x12

Great video support from Puerto Rico
Gracias hermano! That’s greatly appreciated 🫡🤘🏻
@thetattedbaldguy same here great videos very informative

Add an overdrive in front of it for metal tones

These Vintage 30s are made in China. They're the cheaper version, still good, but not the same.

You should review a fender LT amp
@Fender just needs to send me one!
@ ill send you mine :)

This may be a good option for starters, but if you already have a pedalboard or processor, this is just a bad investment.
You think so? Out of curiosity, what else is giving you 100W of tube amp volume for the price? The cabinet is hard to beat too
The way you talked made this feel like a scripted commercial. It was annoying. Muted and skipping all your talking after a bit.
What are you really mad about, cause it’s not my cadence. Either way, thanks for helping the algorithm. I’ll check your content for tips later
Dont know why he's so mad but he is talking about the cuts in between the dialog make you seem like a paid ad
