But not at all because the car felt like it was slipping or anything. It was planted and performing like I was going 70mph. It’s honestly a great car! I drove the Genesis G70 as well when I was looking around before I bought the stinger and the G70 does drive better ( handles and brakes better). But it’s a smaller car and makes sense. “The KIA Stinger is what a big GT Cruiser should be without the brand name mark up” You nailer it! BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche have dominated that segment for decades and taking advantage to bump prices since there were no other alternatives. KIA is given them a run for their money. Especially considering the cheap maintenance cost, initial purchase price plus long warranty this is definitely the best choice.
Excellent review and most enjoyable. I had a Cerato GT here in Oz and that was a brilliant car. Traded it in for my Stinger and love it to death. I did research the cost of an equivalent German car with similar specs and equipment and it would have cost me almost double the price here in Oz. Whilst the German cars are excellent, in terms of performance, standard equipment, driving experience, quality, price and warranty, as a total package, it is Stinger first, daylight second, then the rest. This is a fantastic car and I am so glad to have one. Kia and Hyundai / Genesis are making world class cars and it is very hard to go past them.
Owner of a 2018 Stinger GT1. People still keep coming up to me and ask about the car. They can't believe it's a Kia and love the looks. I tell them it's incredibly practical, reliable, and genuinely fun to drive. Previous owner of a B8 S4 and B8.5 S5. The Kia is hands down the best car I've owned so far. I hope Kia makes a second generation, I would definitely be a Stinger loyalist.
I sold my Jeep SRT8 to get my ceramic silver GT1 Stinger. It really is a fun car and I'm surprised there aren't more on the road. It builds power so quickly. It is roomy, decent MPG, and plenty of usable performance.
Love my 2020 GT1! I commute to lots of different hospitals in the NOVA/DC area and this thing is literally the best daily driver for a car enthusiast like myself. Gas mileage is advertised as 22/25 but I get 27 on the highway often. It handles well and looks amazing and has loads of space.
I really like the size of this with the hatch. It's the sportiest styling of a large sedan/hatchback that I've seen. It stomps on the Panamera in terms of exterior design, imo.
I nearly got one of those and had to negotiate with my wife as she wanted the black one. We compromised and got the black one. Totally agree with you, it is an amazing car. Never fails to amaze me how many people stop and look at it when it is parked. Easily the best car I have owned and I have had some rippers including a Merc
This car got me in the dealership , never thought I’d ever walk in but I’m in love with mine. 1st gen purchased 2/18 tuned modded and warrantied. Hold and undefeated title have earned the respect of many from vettes to S4 and I eat mustangs for a warm up. If your thinking about getting one and ur a car person buy it you won’t be disappointed !
Great review ! Im in between the kia stinger and a mustang , that awd is leaning me towards kia , i dont want to stop at a red light , have a stinger pull up and smoke me haha
Coming from a S197 Mustang owner, I would definitely go Stinger. The AWD is great but I really dig the hatch. The S550 Mustang is nice too but I would prefer the manual. The problem is that the transmission is so bad on that gen. I wish the Stinger has a manual though but then how would their auto pilot work? Oh, a bonus is that a Honda adaptive cruise control shuts off below 20 mph but the Stinger doesn't so you can have it drive in stop and go traffic.
I think it depends on what's important to you. Do you have a family? Live with snowy weather? Value manufacture warranty? Need something that can be both mature/composed, but do what you need when you put your foot down? Personally, I answered to all of those, so we were drawn to either the Gensis G70 or the Stinger (3.3 AWD) as a sporty family sedan, but went with the Stinger because of its massive trunk space. Having previously owned a 2010 Ford Taurus SHO and loved it, this is currently the most comparable thing in that type of class. We opted for the limited edition GTS trim, which is a nice balance of features and price, and has the unique ability to shift 100% of its power to the rear wheels in the AWD setup like German drivetrains that come $20k more (this is exclusive to the AWD GTS, though, and only 400 of those were made for North America). Overall, I don't know the last time I stood by a vehicle purchase quite as much as I do my Stinger :)
@@jackalclone1 have you had any issues with the direct fuel injection ? And if not what are you doing to prevent it (currently a 2017 kia optima owner learning the hard way)
I’ve had one since early 2018. It is a truly amazing car. The Kia service experience for me has not been good, but then again it’s better than I ever experienced with BMW. But it doesn’t touch Audi, Infiniti, or VW, all of which were way better for me. Luckily, this car is very reliable, and I rarely have to take it in. I haven’t looked back. I highly recommend this car. It’s a massive bargain after discounts, and frankly, if it wasn’t for its quick loss in resale, it would be well worth the MSRP.
Absolutely love my '18 Stinger GT2 with Agency Power intakes, Jb4 tuned, ARK midpipes and Catback, Go Fast Bits BOVs....pushing a solid 450hp to the wheels 😏😏
Running similar mods on my 2020 GT1 I concur, the power output from a few mods is insane. JB4 is awesome, running Map 4 and E30 blended. Running just over 19 PSI.
Just got into a no-fault accident and my manual Jetta was totaled... can't afford the Stinger yet but living vicariously through this video until I can buy one! :)

Thank you very much for this review. I believe, this car deserves more Promotion, because it is really very good product. I am driving my GT version almost 2 years and I really can't complain. I changed from Audi A6 and I am really satisfied. Kind regards to all Stinger lovers :)
My wife went from the Turbo Optima to this, her new love. I wanted her to get the A5, but the look of the Stinger GT1... then the test drive i had no chance. It is a Fun car!
Agree about loving the car Michael although the sale are not that great. If Kia enter one of these at Bathurst, which I believe they are seriously thinking about doing that, and do well, sales will rocket
I'm keeping an eye on the used market. I'll get a GT-Line next year. I get why the V6 gets talked up over the 4 cyl, but I suppose it depends for those of us that were Holden/Ford buyers in the past, whether you were a 6 cyl or V8 buyer. I don't think it is the lame duck it is made out to be. A similar viewpoint is applied to the Mustang - Ecoboost 4 or V8 My previous car was a 1998 EL Falcon XR6 and it had enough grunt for me. Now I have a Mazda 3 SP23. I miss a little bit of the power, it is still very capable and I like the single digit litre/100km fuel consumption. But I want to get back into a bigger car. The next Gen Mazda 6 is appealing to me, with the RWD N/A 6 cyl medium-large car, but I think the price will go up and they will be too new to be anywhere near my budget. Unfortunately, this segment of car - the manual transmission has pretty much vanished - at least in this market, so my next purchase will be my first automatic car. I don't have much confidence in DCT transmissions - fine if you buy new and turn them over after 5 years, but I'm only on my 3rd car in 27 years of car ownership - all used. Their longevity to 15 years/200,000+kms is a factor to me.
@@pauljh74 i have the 3.3 litter. The paddles work well once you get used to them. I have had a succession of holder v8s in the past and a merc AMG ML. Stinger is incredibly comfortable on long trips Melb Sydney as well as very very quick when needed (or just for the hell.of it)
@@ronwiber8529 That's one of the fond memories I had of my XE and EL Falcons - that extra grunt and the big car that makes highway driving easy. Especially second hand, you got a lot of car for the money. Kia have tapped into that a bit with the Stinger, while also taking aim at the Germans, which would be more their goal
Got the first Stinger GT1 AWD in my state in December 2017, traded it in a few months ago. Its an ok car, dont fall for the hype, its fast 0-60, its governed at 135mph in the USA, handles like a Toyota Avalon in the corners. From a roll its not going to blow away any real sports car. Transmission and brakes have issues, paint has issues. If you need a fun AWD family car for under $50k there isnt a better option IMO.
Your speed is limited because you have the all-wheel drive version that comes with all season tires. I have a g70 all-wheel drive and the all-season tires they come with are not the best. They're more of a comfort all season tire than a performance all season tire.

There's aren't things I didn't know - but am glad to be reminded of. I'm still not a huge fan of the Kia Stinger, but I can still appreciate it for what it is.
Mine is a 2018 GT in Micro Blue. Awesome drive train, but suffers from nuisance quality problems: all the paint on both roof drip molding crackled and peeled off (paint is only covered for 3 years), driver side rear door rattles at 35 mph, Start/Stop restarts engine after you shift into Park when stopped. And I swear the dealer deleted the feature to pop open the trunk from the key fob after my first service there, now it just unlocks. KIA USA made me submit three quotes to fix the paint on the roof drip molding then just went into radio silence. So, in the end, it is still just a KIA.

I love the design on the air vents. I also wish kia had more exciting paint options as my G80 was "polar ice" blue. Something different but now all I see is the ceramic grays or black stingers.
The ONLY reason I went with the sport over the 5.0 at the time of launch was that sexy ass front grill. I loved everything about the G80 sport front end. I was willing to give up the 5.0 exhaust sounds just to have it haha.
Keep uploading bro, underated hig quality videos
This my second stinger. First GT1 , now with the GT2. It's even better. Thank you your good and true review!!
Damn! 2 Stingers! U r like a God!! Lol
My cerato was written off in a 5 car accident, straight in to order the Stinger the next day. 😂
Do the Munchkins get out of the way on the yellow brick road when driving your stinger in Oz 🤔
YOU SOLD THIS CAR FOR ME!!! I was leaning towards Mazda 6 Carbon Edition, but now it’s this KIA!!! Thanks a lot!
Bought my limited Edison deep blue chroma 2020 gt AWD a month ago and love it
Owner of a 2018 Stinger GT1.
Stinger and Veloster N are truly amazing vehicles from Kia & Hyundai. Highly recommended

I've got the 2020 micro blue Night Sky Edition with the upgraded bimodal exhaust. Absolutely love it.
Gonna order my Stinger GT 2021 model probably in april. Can`t wait.
I've watched so many videos about the Kia stinger and you by far are the best presenter. Well done, keep it up, you're a natural.
We're not selling as much as we would like but the rate of sales is up at my dealership
The 2021 Stinger will join the current Telluride in my garage next year.
@@dalex7777 bruh that would be so sick. new stinger looks so awesome
dont worry Taylor Bee we be selling more here soon cuz elections almost over lol
May I ask what mods do you have ? I just got mine
I have the 2018 Kia Stinger twin turbo engine..blue color, v6. I love it. It’s fast. It still get looks and compliments.
this is a great video!! I love the review of the car! a review of a car the normal person can own ! keep the content flowing! much respect brother!
From a launch , an AWD Stinger has it all day
I think it depends on what's important to you.
And if not what are you doing to prevent it (currently a 2017 kia optima owner learning the hard way)
Stinger win in Dig race
I’ve had one since early 2018. It is a truly amazing car. The Kia service experience for me has not been good, but then again it’s better than I ever experienced with BMW. But it doesn’t touch Audi, Infiniti, or VW, all of which were way better for me. Luckily, this car is very reliable, and I rarely have to take it in. I haven’t looked back. I highly recommend this car. It’s a massive bargain after discounts, and frankly, if it wasn’t for its quick loss in resale, it would be well worth the MSRP.
The resale value for the big name BMW,MERCS, AUDI ect is atrocious, they are a bottomless pit secondhand, unreliable and expensive to maintain...
Got mine a couple months ago, and I love it. Awesome video too!!
This was one of the best Kia Stinger reviews I've seen on youtube and I've watched almost ALL of them.
Do you use it as your daily?
Got a 2022 GT1 Ascot green! Easily the best and most fun car I’ve ever driven! I also like the fact that you don’t see to many on the road.
Have a 2019 GT2 AWD Limited and just love it!!!
That is why doug demuro bought stinger.. he loves it..
Love the stinger
Had a mustang, was a hit magnet. So I got a truck, now I feel so slow. Time for my one true love, getting a Kia Stinger GT!
I loved my 2020 GT1 so much that I gave it to my son… and he barely drives it… it’s a driveway trophy now…
gimme 😁
I have the neon orange 2021 stinger limited edition and it's amazing. Everything from looks to performance to audio. I'm loving it
Good review...a lot of bang for the buck!
Just bought a 2021 gt2. Best car ive ever had. Traded in a 2017 bmw 435I m sport pkg. I love the stinger.
Beautiful vid my boy!! Love the stinger you made me love it more 👌😎
Absolutely love my '18 Stinger GT2 with Agency Power intakes, Jb4 tuned, ARK midpipes and Catback, Go Fast Bits BOVs....pushing a solid 450hp to the wheels 😏😏
Running similar mods on my 2020 GT1
I concur, the power output from a few mods is insane.
JB4 is awesome, running Map 4 and E30 blended. Running just over 19 PSI.
Just got into a no-fault accident and my manual Jetta was totaled... can't afford the Stinger yet but living vicariously through this video until I can buy one! :)
I’m saving for an orange 20 at the end of the year !! Can’t wait
I purchased a 2020 GT2 last mth and I love it! Changed the Kia badges to the E badges and I can tell when people are trying to figure out what kind of car it is. I actually look forward to waking up in the morning to drive it to work lol
Maybe if they made their logo eye catching people would pay more attention. I’m really liking the “E” logo, wish they would incorporate it more.
Thank you very much for this review. I believe, this car deserves more Promotion, because it is really very good product. I am driving my GT version almost 2 years and I really can't complain. I changed from Audi A6 and I am really satisfied. Kind regards to all Stinger lovers :)
I'm actually glad the promo has been mild; I enjoy driving a vehicle that isn't super popular
Great. Video going to test drive one tomorrow
I have the same Stinger and just Love it❣️❣️
have you had any problem with it?
This is the exact color combo I want. Looking forward to a test drive
I have a Gt 2 ceramic gray and red leather I get more looks then with my BMW feels great driving it test drive one and you will buy it
My wife went from the Turbo Optima to this, her new love. I wanted her to get the A5, but the look of the Stinger GT1... then the test drive i had no chance.
It is a Fun car!
I've had one for a couple of years now hard to find fault with it. Pretty fun and comfy, damn fast.
my goodness your videos are entertaining. keep goin man!
I really appreciate it Casey thank you very much! 🤙🤙🤙
6 years into mine (same spec paint and interior color as the video), and I still love it as much as it was new.

Love my Stinger. They are selling well here in Australia
Agree about loving the car Michael although the sale are not that great. If Kia enter one of these at Bathurst, which I believe they are seriously thinking about doing that, and do well, sales will rocket
Im in Australia and about to order one.
A similar viewpoint is applied to the Mustang - Ecoboost 4 or V8
My previous car was a 1998 EL Falcon XR6 and it had enough grunt for me.
Nice car, goood review! Nice touch with the drone footage!!
Just picked up a 2022 GT Elite (Canada) and it is such an insane car, comfy, looks so sleek and all the power you need, such a damn nice car
This was a lot of fun. Very good video. Very witty, you are!
Just bought me a 2021 kia stinger gt1, im in love with it
Great video! Just picking up a GT1 white with the red interior!! Woo hoo!!

thinking ab a stinger while i’m living in vegas, then realized that i was watching you drive around my hometown in new hampshire. crazy coincidence
I own a 2014 Kia Optima ex gdi and I have loved it from day 1 I have dreamed of owning a Kia Stinger . Every time I see one I fall in love even more .
Bought mine last October. Fantastic car! So happy with it. This is my 3rd Kia... first 2 were Optima’s.
I have an optima and may get a stinger sometime in the future, but how have your optimas held up?
@@whitley2129 Optima’s are also great cars. I was very happy with them, but a Stinger passed me on the highway.... and I picked up speed to see what it was... and the rest is history. I was immediately hooked. Researched them for a year before I decided I had to have it.
@@hunnee_bee_7603 lol great to know! I hope to make the switch in the next couple years

Curious about reliability as I know very little about KIA.

Just bought a used 2020 Stinger GT2 AWD after having my 2020 Challenger R/T totaled after a rear end pile up in the snow. I was so nervous about leaving my Mopar fam I had a 2015 Charger as well, but dang this car did not disappoint! To have a car that is way more functional with all the room, luxury, AWD and the beast under the hood (that is actually faster than my R/T) is just amazing! It’s so dang fun to drive! I have no regrets! I was a Kia skeptic before owning this car, now I’m hooked! The only thing I can’t believe is it doesn’t have a remote start! Must have that added. Also replacing the old ugly Kia badges! Mine is micro blue! Gorgeous color for this Grammy of 3! Can’t wait to drive to the grocery store now!😂
Just watched your video. Loved it. I too share the same B-Day. I picked up my 2019 Kia Stinger GTS on my B-Day. I LOVE it. Couldn't be happier with it. It really is a great car that is underrated. I have done so much too it so far. With lots more to do in the future. Thanks for the video.😃
I get to finally say the same thing. I saw one of the concepts and thought this could be cool then the 2018 model came and I knew I'd have this car one day. Now I finally get to drive my 2022 gt2. Best feeling ever

Fantastic Review & Fantastic Vehicle. Stinger is amazing. Keep up the great work !!
The 4cylinder version has the looks, plenty of power, fantastic gas mileage ... all at an affordable price. Mine was only $33,600 out the door. Love mine!
How is comfort mode? Is it a smooth ride?
Never took a 4cyl version for a testdrive - we opted right away for the 3.3L AWD. We have a 4cyl in my wife's Sorento and its badly underpowered - but granted it doesn't have the turbo.
I have a 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 Special Edition (Chroma Red). I constantly get compliments on it and I absolutely love it. ❤️
I have a grey gt2 with red seats, it's perfect for me, and I've smoke plenty of stangs, challengers, and chargers, you gotta get the top trims in those cars to compete with a twin turbo stinger.
Great honest review, I'm subscribed, respects from South Africa
Appreciate it brotha! 🙌
Im fed up hearing ppl say its a Kia its A Kia... screw those ppl! Get in a Stinger and then tell me what you think of ‘a Kia’....
I like that its a Kia. Nothing worse than a nosy neighbor or coworker trying to size up your pocketbook by asking you what fancy new car you just bought? Love being able to say 'oh jts just a Kia sedan' to get away from those annoying situations when I want.
Its a Kia! 🤣

Its a Kia 🤣 thats costs WAY TOO much that only people like you would buy. God bless you because it will be discontinued within another year or so 👎
Sounds like you have the same pair of cars I have, a stinger (gt2) and a vette. Love both cars and the stinger puts a daily driver practical smile on my face just slightly less than the manual transmission vette. Good review and enjoy your cars.
Also fun fact did you know when you going to sport mode the seat actually hugs you?
Only in a GT2
I’m starting to save up for an orange stinger, I am so excited!!!
My 2016 SXL optima has paddle shifters, and gets looks when I drive around. I’m trading it in for a 2020 Cadenza, 2021 Stinger, or K5. Amazing video though:)
I got mine a year ago love it, you can't beat it, fun to drive and I get 32 miles per gallon... 2.0 awd
Nice video. I went to look at the stinger today. You might have me sold on it. Haha
Awesome video, just bought a gt 2 with the scorpion package about a month ago…so much fun to drive!!!
