I know I am melancholy, but I am no longer expecting perfection from others or myself. Yes I like to make things perfect but have learned how far short I fall of the glory of God. I need mercy and grace and try to be merciful and gracious. At the same time I experience a lot of dissapointment which tends to lead to depression.
I'm most definitely melancholic but I'm pretty much a moron so there's no good to be found in it. The only information I can easily store in my mind is random facts about fictional settings that mean absolutely nothing. I am absolutely a pessimist. I'm also an introvert, lazy, an INTJ, an Aquarius and a complete failure of a person. It's great.
Holy crap, you've described me too. Introverted, INTJ, Aquarius, and while I work a lot of hours I don't feel I'm near productive enough during them so also feel lazy. Obsessed with filling my mind with the stuff I'm passionate about but none of it is useful and too distracted to keep the mundane real-life important stuff straight in my head.
@@jaymiller8125 Wow, I have the same problem, I recently was obesed with categorizing human abilities (physical, mental strengths, skills that can be learned), statistics, and scientometric (how can I classify overall knowledge). introverted, INTJ, cancer.
I'm a Sanguine with Meloncholic as my secondary temperament which is so interesting to me. I'm not introverted but I do obsessively plan lol very informative so I can work on my downfalls! Thanks!! 😃
Now I know how Truman Burbank must have felt when he realised he was living in an artificial world and strangers knew him better than he knew himself...
What do you do when you're a melancholic Extrovert? ENTJ, but I can't see any fulfillment offered in life, being around people just allows me to forget that for a moment.
melancholic persons are typically introverted, thats a major trait of melancholic nature. but u can be 95% extroverted n 5% introverted. We all usually a mix of those traits.u can't be 100% one trait.
Temperament is both expressiveness and responsiveness. Introvert/extrovert is expressive. Then, there's people vs task focus, which is responsive. ENTJ is a Choleric, which is high expressive, low responsive. (Where Melancholic is low expressive and low responsive). So they approach people like an extrovert, but this is usually for a goal, then they can get tired of them, and then feel like an introvert, and even withdraw after awhile.
I think that main weaknesses of people with a dominant melancholic temperament are rigidity and tempestuous mood swings. These people often look so serious and austere that they're a bit intimidating, also they are constantly nervous, high-strung and overly critical, so you usually feel uncomfortable near them. Their anger outbursts are not aggressive like choleric's, but hysterical and intense. They are almost always gloomy and anxious, prone to a severe neurotic behaviour. Hard and complex personalities, too analytical and perfectionistic, difficult to get along with. It's good to say they are like an early summer storm - the day before it is mostly dark, cloudy and muggy and you can feel the storm is coming slowly, but you never know when it will explode and broke the previous calmness.
@@hjo4104 Thank you so much for that review! Can't say that I found out many new things, though. The thing is that all you mentioned is very familiar to me, very familiar. So, of course, I 100% agree with you. What I liked in your description is how the separate facts harmonically complement each other producing one tune. Sad tune, doubtless. Thanks again for your time.
A guy in my church said he felt I was no doubt a melancholic like him but I am not neat and tidy I am to catatonicly depressed for that I am a messy slob 🥺

Much better than the New Agey pseudo science of the Meyers Briggs test.
Melancholic with INFJ.... anyone??
Me. And I'm a male
Very compatible; the INJ part of it has been identified as the social Melancholy. INFJ's usually translate to a Melancholy-Phlegmatic.
I’m phlegmatic/melancholy, INFJ
Meee🙃🙃
Yup :)

I feel exposed lol
I will have a test today :D hope I am phlegmatic :P
You haven't said a word about melancholic's weaknesses. We have to be objective, don't we?
