No need to go too far to find a good "Aliens" like game, there was AVP2, perfect game for all the 3 species :) That was the most perfect Alien+Predator game to ever exist. 2001 was the year.
Climbing trees in AvP2 with the predator was really clunky. It didn't feel right. The 2010 AvP used contextual leaping that was set in specific spots. Less freedom but felt way cooler to make a perfect cinematic looking leap 3 stories up as apposed to AvP2 making you high jump to flat branches one level at a time where I mostly would mess it up and make it look like a predator blooper reel.
If they refine the characters more and expanded upon the combat system, this wouldn't be a bad sort of game for a Mass Effect style action-RPG. Just moving your ship from planet to planet fighting Alien morphs and saving people.
This game rocks! You didn't talk at all about the difficulty of this game. I'm a longtime gamer and cheese thru most games. This game actually puts up a challenge from the beginning and the difficulty goes up 3 more levels - The strategy really changes and becomes vital to master as you dial up the intensity - but more importantly they balanced the game nicely with weapon run-ups, character upgrades, and 7 unique character classes - that you really need to strategize about and grind for in order to beat it on higher difficulties. All said and done this game is absolutely awesome for a low budget game and if it had the budget of AAA, it could very well be a top tier game.
i think the game looks and Sounds awesome like stated in the video, they nailed the pulse rifle sounds. Being a person that almost always is going at games as a single player, it's nice to hear that this is still playable without needing anyone else to help. 😄👍
Thanks for the heads up, i got to see some full on gameplay maybe 2weeks ago or something like that and it was nice, but i definitely don't plan on getting it anytime soon. Aside from spending $25 on Hades for Switch, the last time i bought a game "new" was on PS1😅 and throughout all those years i've just seen the reasons to Not buy a game new multiply exponentially. At this point, i don't think i'm Ever going to pre-order a game, there's just too much opportunity for companies to burn the consumer. Granted if i were more interested in multiplayer i would probably feel a bit more eager to get a game before "everyone" else stops playing it, then again if the game IS really good people will probably be playing long enough for it to go on sale or something like that which is when i would probably buy it.👍
Being a mass aliens fan since watching the movies as a kid, this game has kinda blown me away I pre-ordered as soon as I could and the campaign as short as it may seem was enjoyable pays so much tribute to the old and newer alien films, so if you're looking for a fun but stressful game, play this on insane with 2 mates and you'll have a great time if they do make dlcs for this ill be stoked
The 2010 alien vs predators game will probably forever be my favorite. Aside from that isolation. I liked being able to play as the alien, predator, or marine. In the 2010 game. They had iconic skins and customizations too. It was more skill based with the fighting and whatnot too. All out chaos multiplayer, with some people playing each of every faction.
Aliens Vs Predator on PS3 was amazing. The online was so fun. Especially Infestation, oh my god when you got a full team of 16 people, being the last human trying to fed off 15 player controlled xenomorphs at once is one of the most terrifying and fun experiences in gaming I've ever had lol.
Good review, looks like a fun time, really captures the feel of Aliens, my favorites are AVP 2010, that games Marine campaign was a lot of fun, and Alien Isolation, very underrated, my favorite game of 2014, the atmosphere of the game was incredible, Sevastopol Station felt like a real lived in place, while the AI of the Xeno felt like an actual living thing 👏👏👏
This game scratches every itch for me! I love 3rd person Shooters, I love looter shooters, And Everytime I play one I pretend I'm Vasquez. This game lets me do all that and now I can shoot actual aliens! And yes Vasquez actually has "Aidos" scribbled on her gun! I hope they support this game and add content. I'm Addicted and want more.
I love this game. Casual fun with my dad who got me into the series as a kid. Now him and I can enjoy our own xeno adventure. This game is a memory maker.
Been almost 4 weeks. I still really enjoy the game. It's still really fun to play with friends. My only negative experience with the game is just how DUMB some of the random players are. It takes a team of 3 working together giving 100% to clear a level, yet there's almost always a screeching child that can barely hold their own against a small group of common xenomorphs.
I remember the Aliens arcade game from the early 90’s!! TMNT and simpsons were also amazing. What I remember the most was when you died and ran out of quarters.. the game over screen was a xenomorph and Bill Paxton’s line “GAME OVER MAN!”
What would really make this game shine is a double campaing: one for humans, one for Xenomorphs, either that or just make one for Xenomorphs to change things a bit. Also, it would be interesting to hear from any reviews things like how the coop works: if it's based on a server that you wait forever for a quickplay, if you can't make a private match like Back4Blood (unless you have an almost full team, which is absurd), such things can make a game simply disappear (like the walking dead game, where you could not do campaing with bots, for instance).
they’re going to have back4blood on game pass so they may not add this to avoid having them compete with each other or just don’t want to be redundant, who knows
I actually did enjoy the Colonial Marines campaign enough. It could've used some fleshing out, but I liked it. I'm really looking forward to playing this with a couple friends, because it does look like an absolute blast.
The original AvP game taught me that I will always jump at facehuggers... but it also provided my first awesome multiplayer experience. I leapt halfway across the map and chunked the marine I landed on; spent the rest of that life hissing in victory for my accidental accuracy before he was avenged.
So even though you never mentioned it, I’ve always had a soft spot for Alien Infestation on the DS. To me that was always the true sequel to Aliens, and I’ve always wanted a studio to remake that game with either 1st or 3rd person. Heck even a full updated 4K 2.5D style would be amazing.
This game could be fun as i realy love that chaos it seems to bring, however it does look like a game you wait for a bit untill it drops in price. Thanks for the intel on this 💪🙏
this looks like a $5 game, seriously, is just as boring as it could be. The original price of 55$ was ridiculous. There was such low sales they dropped it to $35 one month before release........I will not be shocked it will sell for $20 in one month.
So far I’ve enjoyed this game. My main gripe though is the lack of content. I’d love to see some competitive modes and game modes where you can play as an Alien. Because right now it is 4 missions and a horde mode. Even for $40 that’s not enough content. I hope they do update the game and add more because it’s clear that they wanted to pay respect to the fans and it’d be great to see this game develop more
I hope so too it honestly is a fairly decent game And although its a lot better if you have friends You can still enjoy yourself while playing alone too and you could even play in matchmaking However the downside with that is your dealing with randoms. All in all it's an all around Solid game. Believe it or not it kind of reminds me personally of zombie army 4 In the way you blow away hordes of enemies either alone or with friends You get the occasional enemy where you have to take cover but for the most part you're just in the open blowing away things with a machine gun And a big part of that game is well replying missions On blocking new weekly challenges stuff that they're putting into this game so so I have high hopes!
@@mr.exodus3844 Couldn’t agree more, mate. I had a few solo runs as Doc, this afternoon, and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to playing it with a mate on the weekend. They will need plenty more content, but for now, there is plenty to muck around with, with the perks/weapons/classes skill trees. This initially wasn’t on my radar. I think I was the only person that was looking forward to Rainbow Six extraction 😊, but glad this came along
@@garrypeak4277 I hope you're playing through goes well! I'd join in with you if I could lol. Also I was sort of in the same boat I only found out about the game by total accident and I'm glad I did!
Completed the campaign and even found friends to play with. The lack of communication between players, especially if you are just randomly playing missions, can be frustrating yet still isn’t world ending. The formula works really well. I wish that there were similar titles themed for starship troopers or even Starcraft. Hopefully this is just an entry point. The possibility of bigger scenarios, procedural maps, and maybe revisiting a system like the director from l4d are all there.
I love the aliens series and I love co-op games. Played this with a buddy and I started doming all the dormant work bots chilling in the first act. My buddy wasn't as into the lore as I am so he was like "dude what are you doing" And then when the synths started shooting at us, which I didn't know was gonna happen, he was all up in arms with me about evil robots. When we started playing on the harder difficulty he joined me in martially executing them things. I love this game. It scraches all the things I had been needing in the gaming world
Gameranx should definitely revisit the game a year later. They have added so much to the game, it is quite impressive. They have added more classes, game modes, 2 new campaigns with 3 missions each, new enemies, a ton of weapons, attachments, skins, armor, etc. They have also added cross play where PC players can play with Xbox and Playstation players. My main complaint are Alpha and Beta bots. These two are as dumb as a box of rocks. Another good thing that has been mentioned before is that there are NO micro-transactions.
I preordered this a while back and know this will be a very generic game. That said, I kept my preorder as there's not a whole lot of new stuff out right now that interests me, so this will be a good "Filler" game. As a fan of the World War Z game (soon to be WWZ: Aftermath as well), I expect this to be slightly more generic but still fun. Plus the combination of the game being a discounted title at release (shows the publishers know that the game isn't full-price "worthy" and the consumer isn't punished as a result) and getting that discounted title in physical form (Xbox) and being able to unwrap that plastic and shove the case into your nostrils to get that *fresh factory smell* ... nothing beats it. ... except preloading digital games. That definitely beats that. 😆
@@iHaveTheDocuments I get that too. I knew that would come up, so I ask these questions: If I cancelled my preorder right now, would it change anything? If I cancelled my preorder when I placed it (2 months ago), would it change anything? If I cancelled my preorder and instead bought the game on Day 1 of its release, would it change anything? Some games I know what to expect when they release. This game I don't expect much, so to me, whether I preorder it or not, it makes 0 difference. If you can't answer any of those 3 questions above, answer me this 1: What does me preordering this game have any effect on with how this game is going to release?
So you're into playing generic mediocre games then? Seems like a weird thing to do when there must be a whole bunch of better games out there you could be spending your money on. Not judging you by the way, just find it curious. Everyone needs a hobby I guess.
In my opinion it won't live as the hype as alien isolation did but I think this is a unique as its own I don't think this is amazing but I don't think this is bad I really love it if they fixed a few couple of things like the animations and add more challenges and maybe more modes this would be fun for a lot more people but so far I think it's a great game
I’m so old, I played the Commodore 64 Aliens game. You only had a certain number of marines and they kept dying. You had to beat the game before they all died, great game mechanic. Tense!

No need to go too far to find a good "Aliens" like game, there was AVP2, perfect game for all the 3 species :)
That was the most perfect Alien+Predator game to ever exist. 2001 was the year.
Any idea how I can get my hands on a copy?
@@matthewgodwin3443 someone made a restoration lately hold on i think i can give u a link
I love it. The latest update that just dropped added new weapons and attachments and a new game mode called point defense and a few extra goodies
AVP3 was a masterpiece. Too many good memories to count.
This game looks great in its own way 👍
I enjoyed 3 and 2, but my all time fav has to be AvP Gold Edition. Classic.
Just want an Aliens universe exploration game
That’d be great
That could be really interesting
Same here always wanted a Metroid Prime kind of Alien(s) game. Think it would work well because Metroid already borrows a lot of stuff from Alien(s)
Ok
If they refine the characters more and expanded upon the combat system, this wouldn't be a bad sort of game for a Mass Effect style action-RPG. Just moving your ship from planet to planet fighting Alien morphs and saving people.
AVP for the 360 was great. I loved the paper, rock, scissors gameplay between the difference species
I have that on Steam. May even get it on the new Xbox
@@haunteddreams7856 same! It looks surprisingly good on PC for the time it came out
I used to be a Xeno main in the old AvP multiplayer. Loved the modes where you start as a facehugger
Granted if i were more interested in multiplayer i would probably feel a bit more eager to get a game before "everyone" else stops playing it, then again if the game IS really good people will probably be playing long enough for it to go on sale or something like that which is when i would probably buy it.👍
AvP2 captured it best for me. This still looks fun and I’m hoping they’ll be updating this game with new content..
I personally love the Aliens VS Predator game that came out in 2010! I’m definitely trying this out!
check out the original AvP from 1999, its dated but the gameplay is great.
@@FractalPrism. I’ve played it, and I love that one too!
Let's Rock! 👍
First like, pog
Right on Vaz...
We're in some real pretty shit now!
You legend. Love Vasquez.
Anyone ever mistaken you for a man? Hahaa
Just played isolation. Game holds up to this day!
@@theOriginalGamester nice! It’s a timeless classic honestly, a decade old and still so good! 😊
Same
An Aliens game that is fun, (mostly) polished, sold at a fair price, and promises free updates in the future? I think that's deserving of our support.
I'm so interested in this game and frankly I'm a huge Alien fan!
Also, it would be interesting to hear from any reviews things like how the coop works: if it's based on a server that you wait forever for a quickplay, if you can't make a private match like Back4Blood (unless you have an almost full team, which is absurd), such things can make a game simply disappear (like the walking dead game, where you could not do campaing with bots, for instance).
seems like the perfect gamepass game
ill wait
Yeah why support a small developer
they’re going to have back4blood on game pass so they may not add this to avoid having them compete with each other or just don’t want to be redundant, who knows
@@spartida3850 Back4Blood is meh Zombie hordes way over done.
@@AleesatheIsraeli yeah, I agree. but it’s made by the people who made left4dead, I think that’s why it has any appeal in the first place
No and no
I actually did enjoy the Colonial Marines campaign enough. It could've used some fleshing out, but I liked it. I'm really looking forward to playing this with a couple friends, because it does look like an absolute blast.
Love these videos, they're the best! Keep up the amazing content!
Thanks
Very good!
@@gameranxTV nah all good
The original AvP game taught me that I will always jump at facehuggers... but it also provided my first awesome multiplayer experience. I leapt halfway across the map and chunked the marine I landed on; spent the rest of that life hissing in victory for my accidental accuracy before he was avenged.
Alien vs Predator from 2010 actually nailed the stmosohere really good very underrated game imo
Infestation is an overlooked masterpiece. I adore that game.
"Lonely Gamer" I'd wear a t shirt with that written on it
I'm convinced to get this one. Only Alien game I played was the arcade Alien 3: The Gun.
3 person co-op is perfect, we all know that adult men cant have more then 2 friends.
Been playing it, if you like horde shooters it's worth buying now.
@@barnebyoconnell8176 thanks for the heads up 💪👍
@@DKTMUSIC25 wait two months, price will drop to 15 $
Yeah, this seems more like a $20 game to me.
If 2010 AVP could get a sequel i would really be on a hype train.
I just want a good modern TP&FPS AvP like AvP2 with three separate campaigns for each species.
Damn... playing that one mobile app aliens vs predator was the one game that got me hooked up back in 2015
So far I’ve enjoyed this game. My main gripe though is the lack of content. I’d love to see some competitive modes and game modes where you can play as an Alien. Because right now it is 4 missions and a horde mode. Even for $40 that’s not enough content. I hope they do update the game and add more because it’s clear that they wanted to pay respect to the fans and it’d be great to see this game develop more
I think, ultimately, Aliens fans just want more games like Isolation
We want both; and which one each fans wants more tends to be in line with whether they liked Alien or Aliens for the movies.
As a huge aliens fan I would say I want both not just isolation.
Would be nice to have an Aliens action type game that maintains the creepy atmosphere of the film and isn't just a mindless blast em up.
@@thebatman4279 I mean, did you see Aliens?
@@potato6785 Sure. What do you mean?
I love the alien films and love alien isolation! If I ever get this game I hope I enjoy it the same
The game you want to love but want more. I hope it survives because this looks solid!
Zombie Army 4 isn’t a good game at all😂

I still remember playing Aliens Infestation on the DS. I loved that game growing up!
Having a blast and the patches are consistent. And really fun. Tons of stuff to unlock.
As a big fan of Aliens I thought this game was by far the best one that I have played .
I just played it, it's actually not bad if you play with friends on hard. Storyline is interesting and I wish it'd have been longer.
Same. Got it on gamepass this week and its alot of fun with friends. Actually quite suprised by the negative comments
@@jimguy607 exactly, I went deep in steam for the comnents. It's not bad I've been doing horde mode is pretty cool. The AI bots suck ass though.
When a player says their coming out of the walls, the devs have done something correct.
Ha! That's pretty clever. Have this like
They mostly come at night. Mostly.
They have added more
classes, game modes, 2 new campaigns with 3 missions each, new enemies, a ton of weapons, attachments, skins, armor, etc. They have
also added cross play where PC players can play with Xbox and Playstation players.
My main complaint are Alpha and Beta bots. These two are as dumb as a box of rocks. Another good thing that has been mentioned before is
that there are NO micro-transactions.
being fun while playing with friends isnt a selling point, every game no matter how stupid is enjoyable with friends
Most of the time the more stupid and the more bugs it has the more fun
I knew that would come up, so I ask these questions:
If I cancelled my preorder right now, would it change anything?
If I cancelled my preorder when I placed it (2 months ago), would it change anything?
If I cancelled my preorder and instead bought the game on Day 1 of its release, would it change anything?
Some games I know what to expect when they release. This game I don't expect much, so to me, whether I preorder it or not, it makes 0 difference.
If you can't answer any of those 3 questions above, answer me this 1:
What does me preordering this game have any effect on with how this game is going to release?
@@iPlayiOS well said. Agreed. Pre ordering has zero effect on anything
@@iPlayiOS i pre order sometimes when it gives like good bonuses or if I get a trinket from the game in real life
@@locdogsgg9135 Same. Like Rockstar's games. Posters & maps haha.
So you're into playing generic mediocre games then? Seems like a weird thing to do when there must be a whole bunch of better games out there you could be spending your money on. Not judging you by the way, just find it curious. Everyone needs a hobby I guess.
I just want an open world game set in the alien universe 😭
That would be brilliant. Not this shit.
Hey I really appreciate these segments. Thank you.
"Colonial marines, we all know how that went"
I liked it honestly, I enjoyed the gameplay alot
I was already looking forward to playing this game ever since I heard about it!
I have been waiting for this one, can't wait to play it.
My favourite aliens game was AVP great 3 way multiplayer.
I’m so old, I played the Commodore 64 Aliens game. You only had a certain number of marines and they kept dying. You had to beat the game before they all died, great game mechanic. Tense!
Alien Vs Predator 2 was one of the longest running games of all time. I remember when call of duty, warcraft 3, avp2 and jedi knight jedi academy were the most popular games outside of steam on PC.
I just want to clarify that steam says under "similar to other games you've played" it says that Aliens: Fireteam Elite is similar to Among Us
Oh shit Drone vented I saw him
sus
It would’ve been even cooler if they set it up like L4D2, being able to play as certain alien classes.
They could add a mode like this in the future tho.
Omg so early. I cannot wait for this game it just looks like alot of fun. :D I miss games like L4d, just good shooty pve fun

AVP 2012 was the best, playing as a marine while being hunted in the pyramid map was always heart pounding

This game looks really cool and I've been super exited for it to come out! But I find it kind of odd that there doesn't seem to be any acid damage when a xeno blows up directly infront of you praying you with acid blood?
ahh yes, the alien universe. Broad daylight and wide open maps, exactly what I'm looking for when thinking of the alien franchise.
After I beat ME3 I played the online MP which was basically just a wave shooter, and this reminds me alot of that but more mission-based, which is awesome imo. Definitely a high point for this year.
AvP2 (2001) still the best in my opinion, BEST campaign from all games and EXCELLENT multiplayer, that thing online was so much damn fun. . .
Be cool if they made a Predator area and you help them hunt Xenomorphs.
I could see that as some DLC down the line if the game does well enough.
@@dustyfedora It'd be an awesome level that references it. Hell, Predator and Alien are in the same universe as shown in the comics.

Honestly there was a small team that made this game, if this pops off, they can most likely make a new and improved even better game in the future.
Its full of glitches. Nearly impossible to get a connection between players. The reviews are pretty mixed.
The 2010 aliens game Marines game play was the best I remember the survival mode was awesome it set the tone really well I wish they could make something like that maybe add a good well performed story in a campaign mode. First person shooter in this kind of setting but just make it scarier like in the 2010 would be perfect
Aliens vs predator, where u can play as all 3 was my favourite
I wish it was a 4 player co-op, I find it ridiculous that you can only have 2 friends join you and not 3
