@@abremalin cheers mate. My dad was a long suffering demons fan and the 87' premlim vs the hawks. It pissed him off hard. I still remember how hurt he was.. Me giving him lip on the day probably didnt help either lol

Special thanks to Caleb Daniels throwing Max Gawn to the ground and then standing over him! The DEES needed a spark and Daniels triggered the onslaught that followed!
Reread what you just said. Caleb Daniel threw Gawn onto the ground. Doesn’t sound to realistic does it? It was an aggressive tackle but he didn’t throw a man 40 cm taller than him.

Amazing how half way through the 3rd quarter Bulldogs were over 3 goals up and looked like they would run away with it. Most exciting grand final flogging I've ever watched

Yes, and it started with 3 goals in about 1 minute mid-way through the 3rd quarter (Fritsch 8.45, Fritsch 8.30, Brown 7.40), followed by one goal about 3 and a half minutes later (Brayshaw 4.12), then 3 more in 30 seconds (Petracca 0.50, Sparrow 0.35, Oliver 0.20). Apart from Brayshaw's goal, that's 6 goals in 90 seconds, or a goal every 15 seconds. Astonishing!

Great game. I've only seen one other like it in my lifetime when Carlton came from 7 goals down to beat the Pies in the 1970 GF.
They were only 19 points down at the worst point and still had more scoring shots at that point. It just seemed worse because the Bulldogs were killing them in general play and had all the momentum. They just needed a spark or something to go their way to shift the momentum. After he kicked the goal to put Dogs 19 points up Bont came to the Bench. Melbourne then kicked two quick goals and the momentum swung again. 16 goals to 1 from that point.
From 19 points down to winning by 74 points... that's a 93 point turn around (15 goals 3). Amazing!
I love the mighty dees, amazing standard of footy in the 2nd half, that's how the game should be played 👍

At last I've seen all the Victorian clubs win a grand final, never thought I would see this in my lifetime, as a kid growing up in the 80's I never thought I'd see Richmond and now Melbourne win a grand final. Now if only Fremantle, suns and giants could win a flag 👍

Yeah how foolish of me to forget the saints, could of swore they won with Lockett and Harvey...... had to Google it, only one premiership in 1966, the minor premiership in 1997..... I thought that was it. How wrong I was.
Half way through the 3rd quarter I was ready to put the cue in the rack. Melbourne weren't manning up, weren't chasing hard, missing tackles and trying to out mark instead of spoiling. Then it was like Melbourne said, ok had enough of this shit and shifted up 10 gears instantly.
No team in Afl/Vfl history would have been able to stop that onslaught.
