I think I watch this bi-weekly. It's my favorite apartment tour yet, and I'm obsessed with interior design. It's exactly how I envision my Chicago apartment as I get older and produce more income.

It's always a joy to watch any new video you posted and I see great potential in your channel. One idea for your future video: Your weekly/monthly outfit update (sort of like the GQ weekly suggestion for menswear). Wow... "OCD tidy!" Small tips I do to keep a little sanity in my challenging, semi-messy house shared with husband, 91-yr-old mother who brought 90 years worth of stuff when she came to live with us, a big Maine Coon cat, and a much-bigger part Irish Wolfhound, with all their stuff and toys: 1. I put my towels in the linen closet so the messy, stacked edges give way to the lovely, neat, rounded folds of the towels. 2. I keep my hangers spaced "OCD two-fingers apart" like you do, all white hangers except the few black ones which separate the categories of clothing. 3. Then one shoe of one pair has its toe end facing out so I remain in control of Closet OCD. 4. Add all the happy colors I like to give color to my life and make it happier. 5. Leave some messes out when I'm in the middle of creating, because creativity can be really messy. 6. When overwhelmed by the messies in my home and life, I can always go to my closet and practice deep breathing a few minutes so my messes, my OCD, and I all stay in a semblance of sanity and balance. 4. Laugh as much as I can! Good luk! Oops...
It is OM to be minimalist and only have what we use, but I cannot imagine life without art on walls, lots of plants and books. Your artments looks like a monastery cell..If you are happy in it - that is all that matters.
I started watching your video and immediately got up and started decluttering again. Had more things to take to Good Will. Will also be putting up some furniture on Craig List. I am moving towards living a minimal lifestyle. TFS.
Everyone's complaining about how your apartment is "bland" and has "no personality" but this is the kind of living space I love. Not for everyone, obviously, but everyone's got their own preferences. The cleaner, less cluttered, and more hotel-like an apartment is, the more I love it and the more I feel like I can relax. This is the kind of space I'm striving for.
I really do love and anticipate these videos highly. Wonderful tour. It gives me a look, a feeling, an ideal to aspire to (even though there may be a huge disparity between our incomes; I can't afford a Rolex!)
That's a legitimate question. If a Rolex were priced at $500, no one would look twice. In my opinion it is the choice of nouveau riche status seekers and vulgarians who hope its ostentation bestows 'class' on its wearer. ($50 knock-offs further damage its prestige.) A more discriminating choice would be Cartier, Patek Phillipe, or Jeager-Le Coultre. There are many other names (and more expensive) that appeal to the connoisseur.)

This is my favourite home-tour I've seen. Nicest living space that's actually lived in. Looks like a really lovely spot. I love what you did with the google home and the way it doesn't stand out. My one question though is, where's the art? You've got this beautiful uncluttered space that'd be perfect for some art. Especially behind that nice sectional. I wish I could live in a space like yours. The art is pretty much the only thing I'd change. And, well, maybe the TV in the bedroom. A great bedroom shouldn't have any sleep disturbing electronics, contrary to every bedroom reno you see in home improvement shoes. Another great video!
TWe have a bunch of photos we plan on printing out and hanging over our couch, we just haven't had time to set and frame the photos. The reason behind the two TVs is me and my fiance each had one before we moved in together. It doesn't get much use, currently just a placeholder till we figure out how we want to furnish it. Definitely, some improvements will be made and will update with videos along the way!
How come everyone that is a minimalist has a bunch of camera gear? The apartment is beautiful. I just like pops of color and a little art on the walls. Guess I'll always have to admire minimalist since I don't think I'll ever get there. I also admire how incredibly neat they are.

I find these tours to be, not so much tours of apartments. But tours of "stuff" in apartments. "Check out all of our stuff and where we keep it in our apartment".
Really lovely space you have both created. There is another easy pot plant or two you could research for clean air and low allergy diffuse molecules:) A Jade succulent and Jasminium or Yucca. Even Peace lilies clean the air and live easily in apartments. Aromatherapy plug in diffusers work well too. Ovens emit invisible fumes for over an hour after use,seeping out through the door ....I always cover it with a very large thick absorbent towelmat. It will soak up smells fumes before they hit the air, on days when it is humid hot or cloudy,it helps. I think all ovens should come with one- in small open plan living environments.
I wish I could minimalize our home too. But my mom always brings stuff like cloths and curtains which she claims she will sew but she never really touched them after.
With just what you need and few extraneous extras, your apartment is cool, clear, and stylish ... just like the voice. And congratulations on making the big commitment; best wishes to you both.

I can tell that some people in the comment section might view this as a “dry” or “empty” home, but, I think they just don’t understand that a “home” doesn’t need to be filled with useless decorations. Minimalism is a way a thinking, there isn't a number of shoes you can have to be considered a minimalist then have an extra pair and not be a one anymore... Minimalism is about removing things from your life that you do not use and do not need. Please consider we all have different things that we consider important in our lives, he might like sneakers and cooking so he will have a good set of knife which all have a different purpose, and sneakers for different days of the week for example. Do not be so quick to judge :)

I’d hate to jump in a blunt-shark fashion but I’ll cater a bit to both sides here: *yes* minimalism is subjective and is essentially the lifestyle of actively deleting materials 24/7 in your life set to a particular number you’re comfortable with, but having over several pairs of shoes and 2 tvs in an otherwise hefty studio/1bed-sized apartment is just too much for me. Currently transitioning to a new apt with zero tvs (just my mini-desktop setup) or tv bill, no coffee table, no trinket collections of any kind in storage, all books/docs/knowledge materials converted to pdfs, about 4-5 essential pieces of footwear and brand new ultra-limited wardrobe that fits 2/5 a closet with about 75%+ of my possessions donated/trashed (believe me, it was incredibly hard and took *years* )feels so liberating for me. It allows for everything to breathe, most importantly the mind. But hey, that’s me. Beautiful apartment btw.
A little bit minimalist....2 tv ( one in the bedroom- *BED* room ) , a big dressing full of clothes ...an enormous purifier....but you are on the way to minimalism( it's not so bad)
We put the tv in the bed room because Jenifer and I lived separately before and each had a TV. We have a dresser full of clothes because we can’t go to work naked. The purifier occupies a small corner of the room.
Touts minimalism, then shamelessly shoves adverts in our face for the whole video and includes an array of amazon links so he can make money from advertising. No thanks.
I thought the air purifier was cool and was genuinely excited, it has helped to alleviate allergies without having to use drugs. I originally didn't include Amazon links, but rather than respond to multiple individual questions I added links anytime someone asked what was featured.

A little bit minimalist....2 tv ( one in the bedroom- *BED* room ) , a big dressing full of clothes ...an enormous purifier....but you are on the way to minimalism( it's not so bad)
Minimalism doesn't have a set definition, you know.
We put the tv in the bed room because Jenifer and I lived separately before and each had a TV.
We have a dresser full of clothes because we can’t go to work naked.
The purifier occupies a small corner of the room.

I thought the air purifier was cool and was genuinely excited, it has helped to alleviate allergies without having to use drugs. I originally didn't include Amazon links, but rather than respond to multiple individual questions I added links anytime someone asked what was featured.
