The conversation about Corey’s son and the shadow man really hit home! My dad used to see shadow people as well in his bedroom, and he said that when my mom was there with him the shadow people would go away. Crazy! 😱
As a Corey Taylor / Slipknot fan I got to say this was definitely one of his best interviews her questions were far different than other interviewers it was amazing thank you!!
I've been a Slipknot and Corey fan for about 15 years, and this is easily one of the best of his interviews that I have seen. This was so fascinating and very different from some of your other interviews! I love unique humans, experiences, and incredible out of the box thinking!!! I’ve always felt “different” and after this interview I feel really good about being different!
@Corey Taylor I can see this is a newly created identity and have already confirmed that you ARE NOT in fact Corey Taylor. It would be wise for you to move on.
I just literally jumped off my couch at 39.27, because he just described my school experience with perfect accuracy! I was the only one in my grade that could read in kindergarten, read over a hundred books in third grade, narrated book recordings for other kids in fifth grade, then refused to do homework while acing every test they could throw at me from grades six through nine. Nearly flunked out completely as a sophomore, ended up in a special program for at-risk kids, then graduated a semester early with a 4.0. I also won a nationwide writing contest in sixth grade. The common core system nearly threw me away and now I'm a Triple Nine member. Yup, figure that one out.
I have been a fan of Slipknot and Corey since 98/99 and I appreciate you doing this interview with him. It seems that some people assume that metal performers and even metal fans are not intelligent, violent, heartless people and that is so far from the truth. I love that you are introducing him to people who don't know him and may have the wrong idea about who he is as a person based on their opinions about the music. It's always a joy to listen to him speak.
Best one yet!!! Don't know how the paths of Blossom and Slipknot cross, but thank you so much for giving this to us. He was so interesting and entertaining. 😈

I knew Corey briefly one summer through my sisters boyfriend (at the time), summer of 1993 I’m guessing. I grew up in Indianola about 15 mins South of Des Moines. I remember a long hair, chain smoker who always said “someday I’m (meaning Corey) going to be famous”. Interesting to hear this perspective years later. He played a small dive bar South of the airport. And prob what I remember most was his voice, both talking and singing. My fav song he would sing is She talks to angels while playing guitar. Super glad to see him doing so well❤ #coreytaylor
A lot of people are intimidated by bands like Slipknot, generally just don’t understand them, or care to. My family had the pleasure of being in one of their music videos a couple of years back. They are A+ genuine guys, as is such with most of the metal community, which often surprises people. I’m glad to see Corey on this show. I hope it brings down the stigma around rock/metal musicians. 🤘
@@jessiehermit9503 All Out Life. I’ve been in a few videos, and this was the craziest set I’ve been on. It was like a full on big budget movie production. Tons of crew, equipment, high-end movie cams, pyro…the works. We had a blast, and then slept for 2 days, lol.
Such a good episode. I’m a big fan of Slipknot and Corey. It was a bonus that she didn’t know much about his music genre as it meant she didn’t interrupt as much as usual, it was a pleasure to listen to the guest for most of the time.
I'm glad that you spoke to him about his paranormal experiences, even though it freaked you out. It's frustrating that most people dismiss these experiences and ridicule people that have them. There are definitely some people who lie about or fake paranormal activity, but there are many people who are very credible who have these experiences and it's crazy to me that their experiences are so easily dismissed but yet if these people were giving testimony in a criminal case no one would question what they say. There are so many things we can't explain yet and I think yet is the key word. There are things in the past that people couldn't explain that we now have proof of and people thought these ideas were crazy back then. We haven't yet figured out what paranormal activity actually is or where it comes from but I think one day we will be able to, especially if we put serious scientific research and study into it.
My brother was killed suddenly during a work accident. I told stories about our life together for 6 hours to coworkers. I remember telling one coworker…this is NOT my memory. I’ve never heard this story before. That night when my other brother called me home and couldn’t tell me the reason…I told him that the brother was in a coma or dead. Tell me which. He said dead and asked how I knew. I told him that he was out of his body and with me for the last 6 hours. I knew those were the only 2 choices where his physical body would not need his energy with it. The energy is real and some of us are sensitive!! For the person who blamed the sensitivity on drugs/alcohol…I don’t do either.
Thank you for this wonderful interview! My son is a member of Slipknot...I know Corey, but there are so many things he has gone through in life, that I did not know. He is quite amazing....as are you Mayim! I actually just ordered all of the Corey Taylor books, that I had put off buying. BTW, that house Corey talked about being haunted, is in an area of DesMoines where there are many mansions. I drove for Uber a few years back, and gave a couple a ride to that exact house. The passenger's parent's had bought the house from CT. Hearing his haunted story, makes me want to get hold of these people to see if they have had any paranormal experiences.
Corey is not only one of my favorite vocalists, but one of my favorite people. I love that you didn’t just talk about his music, like everyone else does, and explored so many other things. fabulous interview 💜
I have loved Corey Taylor forever...and I know I'm late to this interview...but I have to say she did a great job, and Corey himself has always been so down to earth.
Poor dear sweet Mayim! After this episode and all that Corey first and Jonathan afterwards explained about extrasensory experiences, asking myself if she was able to sleep the night they shot this episode. Corey, and probably Jonathan too, would had died hung or burnt accused of witchcraft in my own ancient European country…Tnx Mayim & Jonathan for this strange, funny episode! You’re like high jump athletes, rising the bar after every Tuesday! 💜
Found this podcast through Mayim’s interview on Steve-o’s podcast. I watched this interview with Corey Taylor and it completely drew me in. Loved that you spoke about other aspects than just his music as he is a very intellectual and interesting human. Can’t wait to watch more of your episodes!!! And I would love a follow up with Corey like you were talking about!
Thank you for bringing Corey on! He is a truly awesome human being. I can name many people in several Slipknot videos (I'm from Iowa) and none of them have anything negative to say about Corey or any other member of the band. They are terrific examples of why we shouldn't judge people before actually getting to know them

Thank you all for validating so much of what I've lived and continue to live... It's well known Corey is an amazing man, as an Iowan, born and raised, currently living in the same area that Corey grew up in - Waterloo/Cedar Falls. However, I also an an empath (as I'm sure you are as well), and as I've gotten older (I'm almost 50) and I've become more in tune and open for intelligent energies to use me to facilitate a message to others. In fact, my father-in-law does it frequently as my wife, mother-in-law and youngest son can arrest to... Thank you, Corey for speaking of this! Thank you Mayim for bringing this public! I have so many stories and experiences I could share. This breakdown has inspired me to write all of this down now... Maybe a blog. THANK YOU ALL!!!
In the last third, I was absolutely enthralled. I, too, have had many experiences with the paranormal. And, similarly, I seem to have strong emotions and am highly sensory sensitive. I began having experiences as a very young person, and it has continued to follow me throughout my life. I have experienced a lot in the last several years, though, and have tried shutting it off/out. It’s definitely an ability that people can and do have. I have found that people like me- with strong emotions, highly empathic, creative, and OPEN- seem to be the same people who have had experiences. It’s easy to dismiss the paranormal as some pseudoscientific BS, but once you’ve had an experience (or multiple experiences), it’s hard to deny. I’m a reasonable, logical, somewhat intelligent person- not some kook. I would absolutely love it if Mayim would do an episode focused on the paranormal with some interesting guest(s). Thank you for taking this man seriously, hearing him out without ridicule, and showing genuine interest and respect. I really enjoy your content, and appreciate your dedication to the field of mental health. You rock! Love from Ohio 💜
Mayim, this interview with Corey Taylor was totally fantastic! Love your interaction with him. One of the best interviews I've seen.. Love his all his music.. Can't wait to see you talk to next.. Plus I'm so glad to have found you too. Your one of my favorite actresses. Learned alot from your studies on health. Thanks Mayim🦋
This interview has a little bit of everything. Overcoming Addictions..... Music.... and ghost stories all while exposing Corey as very interesting human. Loved seeing Mayim freaking out over the ghost stories......
I am a Nebraska lifer. Saw Slipknot at Ranchbowl many, many years ago. I am also a percussionist myself. Great interview. I dont think people realize how rough it can be in the flyover states. I think after "getting out" and the death of his bandmates AFTER commercial success, he would agree, luck, pure, unadulterated luck, is a huge part of his success. Lots of people here have talent and ability to be successful and live hand to mouth until the day they die.
Great listen, love the content. I always appreciate how the sponsor breaks are always shown in a way that makes me feel I can actually trust the product, or service.
Jonathan is spot on with his perception of supernatural things. It is nothing to be feared, it is always a mirror of our own energy in the moment. Fear attracts a perpetrator like energy, so when we know that everything we interact with is our own energy, it helps us to be in peace.
Love that you had Corey on! This little metalhead is super thrilled. Another great interview would be Jonathan Davis of KoRn or Brian Welch (Head) from KoRn too.
I clicked on this because I love Corey, and, I have yet to see any eps of Mayim's show. I'm at the quitting drinking portion. This is pretty crazy timing. I just decided 2 weeks ago to stop drinking for at least 30 days to see how my body reacts. I'm really starting to understand myself more, the problem is, I'm bi-polar with ptsd and I don't like myself, soooooo that's where I am
I have been listening to most of your podcasts, so many are wonderful- Will Weaton is still my favorite... As a fan of your show and of Metal, It makes me so happy that you have someone like CT on. I am just happy that even though his band is widely known, Having someone like him on in context of your other guests is wonderful! He is very articulate about his being, though you did not talk about it, I am almost certain that he is able to talk this due to being in therapy. one can just tell that someone has been through therapy by the way they are able to talk honestly about themselves . thank you so much for doing this segment. Hey Great interview with Corey Taylor! Saw his solo tour show in 2016 and he was so sweet to sign his book for me, and he didn’t mind that I wanted a hug and a photo too!😊
I've been using something/anything/ everything as long as I can remember and I never knew why. But blossoms ol man just nailed it on the fricking head. I'm 40 ,from/live in iowa. Dont listen to slipknot as much I used to but I've definitely put my hours in. Every time i wonder why mr. Taylor was always so intriguing, I see something else interesting. No offense with the blossom. I was just trying to explain how comfortable I was. This was an amazing watch! Thank you all.
Wow just wow! Every topic was perfectly executed. Absolutely loved it. Especially hearing about the Paranormal part of his life. I feel you on that. People just don't understand until it happens to you. Paranormal has been in my life for 20+ yrs now and it progressively changes throughout my life. Changes with each home or changes with what I'm going through in life.
@Corey Taylor you're absolutely welcome. Your response was music to my ears especially when I spent most of my night with power out during a thunderstorm. Was nice to just sit in the dark & listen to your music. 🖤
I came across your podcast from a teeny tiny article on a Scottish newspapers website and I probably shouldn't have started with a Corey Taylor interview because im reluctant now that others wont be so good! That was amazing! I'm not a 'spiritual' person in any sense of the word and i came for the science and mental health focus. But I've known a lot of people throughout my life who are and I've always been fascinated by their experiences and perception of this world (my own duality you could say). I've been a Corey fan since i came across Slipknot in my very early twenties and to hear him speak in such an honest, open-minded and articulate way about his life accentuates the weird feeling that i saw something 'special' in him, I'm not a fanatical person so that feeling was always strange to me. So, the interview has opened my mind a bit to look to understand more about what drives emotional attraction and sociality (that's my field, im an animal behaviorist) in ways maybe the science can only partially explain! Could it be just a weird concoction of dopamine, oxytocin and vasopressin? Or is there an undiscovered additive or resonance that can be perceived even just on a visual or auditory level i.e. when the subject cannot be experienced in any other way (olfactory or tactual) because theyre on tv or in songs. I'm also really impressed by you guys and your interviewing style, you can see the admiration you have for each other and you really complement one another without coming across as 'fake' for the camera like you see in a lot of interviewing duo's. Looking forward to watching more
Loved this interview and podcast!! Corey is truly fascinating and I loved the stories at the end.I completely believe everything he is saying, as my family has had many personal experiences with spirits in their home. I loved this!

I have caught shadow people out of the corner of my eye occasionally, but never head on or in the detail expressed by Corey. All three of my sisters and my late mother have had various paranormal experiences (much more than I). My late father also believed in such things and planned to visit us after passing. One of my sisters related to us just a few years ago how, as she is falling asleep, she is bombarded with faces of people silently trying to communicate. She, for many many years, thought that was just normally what happens to people as they fall asleep!! *shivers*
i love corey taylor, as a person and performer. He is amazing in concert and his voice is just one of my favorite in the genre. he is so freaking intelligent and actually relaxing to listen to. and it was very fascinating his paranormal experiences because they mimic the ones my mom and i and my siblings have had before. Ive actually had paranormal experiences in most places that i have lived. Its good to hear someone so intellectual explaining his experience because he isnt like here trying to get recognition for his paranormal experiences. he doesnt need to. So the stories are very believable and relateable.

This was so fascinating and very different from some of your other interviews! I love unique humans, experiences, and incredible out of the box thinking!!! I’ve always felt “different” and after this interview I feel really good about being different!
@Corey Taylor thank you for your response! I feel that I cross paths with those that enrich my life and I am grateful!
@Corey Taylor I can see this is a newly created identity and have already confirmed that you ARE NOT in fact Corey Taylor. It would be wise for you to move on.
Please Please Please give us a Part 2 with Corey! One of my favorite episodes yet!
That is my boy man!!! He's seriously my idol and slipknot is everything to me I have seen them 3 times and hope to meet him someday. honestly He's saved me so many times and keeps me going and idk where I'd be without him and slipknot. I was so happy to see this pop up in my recommended🙏🏻🤘🏻🖤LOVE YOU MAYIM AND COREY
I did not expect an interview with Corey Taylor on this channel but I am so glad it happened. I'm a HUGE fan and I thoroughly enjoyed this content.
never be intimidated by a band especially a rock or metal band people should fear being exposed to inferior genre artists.
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle stop being such an douchebag elitist
Which music video?
@@jessiehermit9503 All Out Life. I’ve been in a few videos, and this was the craziest set I’ve been on. It was like a full on big budget movie production. Tons of crew, equipment, high-end movie cams, pyro…the works. We had a blast, and then slept for 2 days, lol.
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle I’m definitely not intimidated.
I think we just witnessed Mayim fall in love. Frankly, I can't blame her.
Exactly my thoughts
Such a good episode. I’m a big fan of Slipknot and Corey. It was a bonus that she didn’t know much about his music genre as it meant she didn’t interrupt as much as usual, it was a pleasure to listen to the guest for most of the time.
Corey is such a legend. He’s inspirational to me
I'm glad that you spoke to him about his paranormal experiences, even though it freaked you out.
I could listen to Corey talk for hours! The dude has so many cool stories and knowledge.
Ooh...I got major chills when he said "I saw them" 😮 He might be my favorite guest on the show and I so needed it today!! 💖
Corey the legend Taylor!!! Can’t wait for the new album :)
Why am I now just learning about Mayim’s show!!!
This is awesome. You guys should have Jonathan Davis from Korn on the podcast.
Hell yeah ! Johnathan Davis is the absolute best!! Korn has been my favorite since I was a kid in the 90s.i would love an interview with yall
Agree 100%
That would go very dark, VERY quickly.
"My brain was like a closed fist" is the best description I have ever heard. Exactly where my brain is currently. Thank you for your story.
Oh i'm so obsessed with this! I love Corey Taylor. I met him. What a nice guy!
I love him too, since high school. He's awesome, inside and out.
I like how Mayim , even being science orientated doesn't dismiss Corey's ghost experiences and her reactions are priceless lol
He wouldn't blame her if she did. Even Corey uses science to explain what he's seen since he's an atheist.
Thank you for this! Loved getting to know the different parts of Corey outside of Slipknot. I’m a die hard metal fan and this made my day!
They are terrific examples of why we shouldn't judge people before actually getting to know them
Iowa girl here and I agree with you... very awesome dude... seen slipknot 6 times and worked at the same porn shop as Corey! Very good person!
I loved the interview: so pure, interesting questions, professional interviewers, just everything I wanted to hear
thank you!
I Saw slipknot for the first time last year after having been a fan since I was 13 in 2000. This interview is the cherry on top.
Corey Taylor is one of my favorite artists. Very interesting episode.
Already having a difficult day. I have to keep repeating, "She's doing the best she can. She doesn't mean to keep doing things that set off BOTH my pain and anxiety disorders." My mom is diminishing mentally before my eyes just as I am trying to improve my own mental and physical health and I am overwhelmed. Family doesn't listen when I say I need help. I lack so many adulting skills, & I feel like I'm having to adult for 2 people at the moment. Not sure of the episode going in, but I'm sure I'll learn something that will help me like I do with every episode. Thank you both for the work you put into these podcasts. I am so happy for you that you have found each other.
Maggot here...I loved the podcast and can relate to his story tremendoulsy Ive had a simuliar past .....I loved the expressions from all three in this video...and more podcst and discussions should be on topics like this...
My favourite interview of all! I hope you bring him back for a part 2.
This was one of the best Corey Taylor interviews I've ever seen. Very honest and open and the questions were spot on. Very inspiring! Thank you!
I'm a Canadian and a huge Slipknot fan!
Jonathan is wonderful. He doesn't give up, yet, doesn't push too hard.
Jonathan is spot on with his perception of supernatural things. It is nothing to be feared, it is always a mirror of our own energy in the moment. Fear attracts a perpetrator like energy, so when we know that everything we interact with is our own energy, it helps us to be in peace.
If I admired Corey before, I do now even more. SUCH A GREAT INTERVIEW!
Love that you had Corey on! This little metalhead is super thrilled. Another great interview would be Jonathan Davis of KoRn or Brian Welch (Head) from KoRn too.
I am a metal head and that was such a bowl of fresh air of how you guys run this interview please we need more of thiis Mayim !!!!! PLEASE PLEASE !!!!
Mayim !
Dude says gnarly more than any surfer from Cali ever.....love the man
I'm not sure how I managed to be unaware of the Breakdown until now...but thank you RUclips algorithm and Corey Taylor fandom for bringing me here! Subscribed as I loved every minute of this!!
Corey is so fascinating to listen to. This was such a great interview!
Thanks so much for this Mayim.✌️❤ Corey is just plain cool. I'm thinking there's not much you can't talk to him about. Enjoyed every second!!! 😉❤
thank you Mayim, I am a huge fan of Corey and his bands. He is a truly a genuine person
OMG MAYIMMMMMM I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS. THE COLLAB I DIDN'T KNOW I NEEDED! AHHH
What timing! Right at the point of discussing intelligent energy and the disturbances possibly originating with certain people, everything froze and reset. Back up and running, and maybe now I'm paying closer attention.
first time listener/watcher. instant subscriber. never have i identified more with a guest or the hosts. CRACKED ME UP watching Dr. Blalik react to Corey's stories.
thanks for existing.
I love this man! He's so down to earth, funny and smart. He has a laugh that belongs in a haunted house! His book about paranormal is great by the way, truly terrifying at some points!
Hey Great interview with Corey Taylor! Saw his solo tour show in 2016 and he was so sweet to sign his book for me, and he didn’t mind that I wanted a hug and a photo too!😊
Thank You Mayim and Jonathan for your amazing Podcasts!!
OMG it's so cool to have him on. I'm very pleasantly surprised! Really excited to hear this!
Looking forward to watching more
One of the Best interviews i`ve seen and heard, 10/10 and subscribed.
Loved this interview and podcast!! Corey is truly fascinating and I loved the stories at the end.I completely believe everything he is saying, as my family has had many personal experiences with spirits in their home. I loved this!
This episode was absolutely fantastic one of my favourites , Mayim you did a brilliant interview you are the best and this show is by far the best podcast with great hosts love it , thank you Mayim love you ❤️xxx
Man what confirmation of the insane timeline we're on, Blossom interviews the lead singer from Slipknot. Completely nuts and utterly amazing.
I LOVE Corey Taylor!!!! Thanks for this episode💕
*shivers*
I love that Corey is a guest on your podcast I can listen to him just talk for hours so thank you
I rewatch this all the time. I love Corey. He is just real with no regrets
I’ve listen to many interviews and podcasts with Corey Taylor but this was one of my favorite conversations with him
Absolutely love Slipknot, hope to see them in a concert this year
i love corey taylor, as a person and performer.
