That does not sound like a very "luxurious" shopping experience. But this seems to be the norm from Hermes nowadays. Why people put themselves through that willingly is beyond me! Just ridiculous! So sorry you had this type of experience from a "luxury" house.
Thank you so much for your comment! I completely agree with you-there was nothing “luxurious” about that experience at all. It’s honestly so baffling that we willingly put up with this kind of treatment just because it’s Hermès. I’ve heard so many similar stories lately, and it makes me wonder if they’re relying more on their brand name than on providing great customer service. Definitely makes you rethink the whole "luxury" experience! 😔 Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
I have been to the Hermes store at Vienna several times and it has always been a lovely experience! They have 3 floors with beautiful items on display. I am not the typical Hermes customer, I bought shower gel, deodorant and a notebook cover! They seem to be stressed when tourists come in and expect bags or other „rare“ items. Nowadays everything seems to be rare at Hermes because the demand is so high. I hope your next visit will be lovely too.
Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 It’s great to hear that your visits at that location have been lovely, and I wish I would have seen more of the beautiful store my self - not just the entry area 😅. Are you from Austria yourself? I do wonder, if tourists might be treated differently. Hope my next visit will be more enjoyable too, if I dare step foot into an Hermes boutique again anytime soon 😁
@ yes, I’m from Austria, but not from Vienna and so I’m not really a local 😎 Ever time I was at the store there were many tourists asking for specific items and they were buying many many things 😉. What I have witnessed quota bags are mostly reserved for locals. But I think there are exceptions. It’s always good to be open to the things they have in stock and not be too specific when asking. Asking for a belt and letting the SA do their work like showing you things. Then decide what you like or not.
I had this happen at my local Lululemon. After trying on two jackets, the lady working the fitting room made a snarky comment at me after I told her both jackets didn't work. One was too big and the other didnt fit my skin tone, but she was shocked I didn't like either and was sort rude about it. She made me uncomfortable, and I left the store right after. I'll stick to Athleta.
@@NellBelle well, that’s exactly what I did - I didn’t know they would be rude, until I talked to the SA. (The way the ladies group and the Asian lady in front of me were treated, could have already been a warning sign to me - but especially with the pushing Asian, I thought maybe people are just too demanding and that might be the result)
That is a terrible experience but don't let it stop you from going to Hermes. I've only been to Hermes once, in NYC, and I was suprised how gracious everyone was. I was just browsing around...didn't have an SA helping me yet, but someone came up to me and my husband and asked us if we wanted something to drink! I was so pleasantly surprised. I got a cup of coffee (served in an Hermes cup/saucer), my hubby wanted some juice. An SA soon helped us, and devoted all her attention to helping me. I didn't dress up...I was wearing a no-name coat w a hoodie and Vans sneakers. The only lux I had on was my LV Odeon bag. I went in there w the intention to buy a couple bracelets, which I did, and she then gave me 10 samples of perfumes. So...don't give up!! That was an unfortunate experience w that one person...and it sucks that it left a bad impression, but your next experience may make up for it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience - it’s lovely to hear stories like yours where the customer service truly embodies the luxury experience! ☕️ Being offered a drink in an Hermès cup and saucer - what a special touch. It’s reassuring to know that such gracious service does exist in some stores, even for those just browsing. Your story gives me hope for a better experience next time 😁
Luxury clients need to hold Hermes to a higher standard when it comes to service. They feel the product sells themselves. But if the service is not high quality as well, find it online/ or in another store!
You’re absolutely right-luxury is not just about the product; it’s also about the experience. When the service doesn’t match the price tag or the prestige of the brand, it really takes away from the joy of the purchase. The attitude that "the product sells itself" isn’t acceptable, especially when customers are investing not just their money but also their time and loyalty. Thankfully, there are other ways to get what we love- the online shop or even exploring preloved platforms. In the end, luxury should feel special, and if one place doesn’t provide that, there’s always another way to make it happen! 💕
Hermes is all games, you can feel the energy of it all when you walk into any boutique. I kinda find it funny cause im the one with the money here lol so I personally just laugh
if it was the kelly belt - almost no chance in vienna and probably everywhere else (heard about waiting lists) specially as a non local, it’s better to try online. edit: the only countries i know where u can lookup the kelly belt store stock on the website are uk, usa/in vienna in store e.g. i only got the reversible 24 belt (gold black) with constance buckle a couple weeks ago (u can also lookup the vienna store stock for some reversible belts) - i am a local and wore jeans, with converse, no expensive brand handbag - came from work…. you were def “better“ dressed than me. I often made the experience/heard in evenings, that they told clients to come back early in the morning when the shop opens because then there are almost no clients, if u were there 10:30h in the morning with such a line then they maybe were overwhelmed by the rush/stressed. I really hope your next hermes experience is better/u get the belt u want.🧡
Thank you so much for the detailed insight and tips! It’s interesting to hear about the experiences of locals versus non-locals - this dynamic seems to play a significant role. I appreciate the advice to shop early in the morning: probably every weekday is the better choice, than Saturday (which was the day we went); I didn’t even consider, how much timing might affect the atmosphere and availability. Also, knowing that some stock can be checked online is so helpful-I’ll definitely keep that in mind for future purchases. I hope to have a smoother experience next time too-thank you for the encouragement! 🧡
This sounds a LOT like how my experiences have been in Hermes. I switched my "hermes journey" to the pre-loved items and I have happily purchased many Hermes items for less than the retail price.
Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 I completely understand why you made the switch to pre-loved items-that’s the smart way to enjoy Hermès without the hassle! I actually checked out the belt I was after on the pre-loved market, but to my surprise, it was priced above retail. For that specific item, it seems to not make sense to pay even more. That said, I would happily go the pre-loved route for other items, but I'm not already that knowledgable on Hermes yet - I need to build some more knowledge first, before I feel confident to go preloved on popular items of that brand 🧡
I can't agree more. I live in Vienna and have been collecting Hermes scarves since 2006, before the store was remodeled it was a good shopping experience. But since then it has been a real hassle. Long waiting times, sometimes you even need an appointment and you can't even browse anymore. I now order online if I really want something. It has nothing to do with your dialect or clothes. Greetings from Vienna, Astrid
Thank you, Astrid, for sharing your perspective-it really helps to hear from someone local! It’s so disheartening to know that even long-time Hermes enthusiasts like you have felt the shift in their service. I completely agree that the inability to browse freely and the long waits take away from the joy of shopping. Online seems to be the way to go for many of us now. Greetings back to Vienna, and happy scarf collecting! 😊✨
The Constance H belt is easy to obtain online and in the boutique. But if you are looking for a Kelly belt, that's another story. I've never seen it online on the belgian website. I did manage to get one in France though. I hope you get the belt you are looing for soon!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It’s fascinating how availability can differ between countries-getting one in France must have been such a lucky find! After this instance I stalked the German website like crazy... and maybe have already been lucky since then 😏
Got the Kelly Belt 18 in Black with Gold Hardware online easy. It is Great but i dont Go to the Boutique. I life in Vienna they are also not friendly to Austrian People who want a Belt. They want to Sell their stuff which no one wants like pillows which are not beautiful.
I’ve been there. they put me on the list but after 1.5 hours of waiting in store, my friend went back to the desk and didn’t find my name on the list. everyone was rude or had a ‘what do you want? make up your mind and fxxk off’ attitude, even security was impatient.😢
I’m so sorry to hear about your experience-it sounds incredibly frustrating and disheartening. Waiting for so long only to find your name not even on the list is beyond unacceptable. And that kind of attitude from staff and even security? Totally uncalled for. Shopping for luxury items should never feel this demeaning! Thank you for sharing your story - it’s a reminder that I’m not alone in this type of experience. Let’s hope for better days (and better service) ahead! 🤞
In the US we would say, it's them, not you. I have bought things at Hermes NYC, Boston, San Francisco and Paris and was treated nicely. But I bought enamel bracelets, not belts.
Thank you for your comment-it’s reassuring to hear about positive experiences in Hermes boutiques! 😊 It really shows that the service can vary so much between locations. I’ll keep reminding myself that it’s “them, not me,” and hopefully, I’ll find a better experience at another location in the future. Thank you for sharing!
You are more than good enough to shop at Hermes!! They don't deserve custom if I am brutally honest - I just hate the way they treat people as if it's some game to be 'offered' items when you've purchased enough. I hate the feeling when you go into a store and the assistants look down on you or are very abrupt, really poor customer service to be honest.
Thank you for your kind words Becky! You're absolutely right: their "games" are completely stupid and ridicouslous - we shouldn't have to jump through hoops, to be able to spend our hard earned money!
I thought I will never state this, while I am a luxury authentificator myself and appreciate real genuine quality. And also respect myself enough, so “F*ck all these mean brands, I can buy it from China” Comes with similar quality, and fraction of the price: like 150 for a Kelly of any color and any hardware… no waiting, no drama, no intimidating experience. And I will invest the rest 20000 usd in stock market 🎉 again, I was against fakes my entire life, and I can professionally spot them. But hearing all this stories makes me respect my peace and freedom of choice even more ❤ And I do recommend vintage. Because it’s so hard to make a fake vintage item. Impossible 😅
Thank you for sharing your perspective, and I appreciate your honesty! While I understand the frustration that leads some to consider alternatives, I personally believe that part of what makes luxury special is the artistry and heritage behind each piece. That said, I agree wholeheartedly about the charm of vintage-it carries authenticity, character, and a unique story, which is hard to replicate. For me, authentic vintage remains an excellent way to enjoy luxury while bypassing some of the challenges of boutique shopping.
In Malaysia we have only ONE Hermes store . On the website for my country we see many choices but when we called the store the staff said the items on website is not confirmed to have it at the physical store . Yes shopping at Hermes stores can be challenging esp now prices or Chanel has been going up and is almost the same as Hermes . Recently we were in Paris main Hermes store and they only had 3 colors for size 38 Oasis sandals 😂 imagine that !!!!
Thank you for sharing your experience-it’s fascinating how the availability of items can differ so much between the website and physical stores, especially when there’s only one boutique in your country. I’ve heard similar frustrations from others; it seems like part of the "Hermès challenge," unfortunately. It’s definitely not ideal when you’re shown all these options online but can’t find them in-store. Your Paris story is relatable too-only three colors for such a popular sandal? That’s wild! It just goes to show how unpredictable shopping with Hermès can be, whether it’s bags, belts, or even shoes. And you’re right-Chanel’s rising prices are closing the gap, making Hermès even more appealing to some, but also making the experience feel even more competitive. It sounds like you’ve mastered navigating this tricky shopping landscape-good luck on your future finds, whether it’s Oran sandals or anything else! 😊
Kelly belts are hard to come by in France and US, especially if you are looking for a particular color. Can't speak for other countries because I haven't tried. Constance belts are easier.
I'm sorry that you had unpleasant experience at Hermes... I did too once a while... But I do know that Kelly belt is often out of stock though. Then I turned myself to other Hermes shops if I encountered the SA with an attitude...
Everything is hard to get at Hermes’. Like everything 😅 the last time I went into the Sydney Hermes boutique, I think I was one of two clients. I didn’t have an appointment but they let me wander around until an SA could help me. It was a weekday, so probably that help😅 Sorry to hear that they were so off-putting towards you..
Yaah, I bet weekdays are a tad less busy - unfortunately most people have to earn the money, they want to spend at Hermès ,during weekdays 😂. But days off probably are the better choice over weekends!
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! 😊 It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in having these types of experiences, even though it’s frustrating that they’re so common. You’re absolutely right-there are kind and attentive SAs out there, and hopefully, I’ll come across one of them in the future. Fingers crossed for a better experience next time!
I’m so sorry you had a bad experience, Mary! 😢. The boutique is at fault. It sounds like they were short staffed and don’t have a system to manage clients when they visit. Believe it or not, there are a lot of items they don’t get a lot of and there may be a shortage of among the boutiques. Sometimes things do pop up online and the boutique may not have seen that item for a while. On my last visit, they didn’t have lipstick refills or a big selection of planner colors. Yes, you can walk around and look at whatever you want without an SA. I do that even when I have an appointment - I’ll ask for what I want and then she will hold the item for me and I’ll browse and if I see something else I’ll ask to see it. I would call customer service and say you had a disappointing experience and see what they say. I do know how you feel because I have had this kind of situation several times at Louis Vuitton.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! It means a lot, especially coming from someone who understands the ups and downs of shopping in luxury boutiques. I wasn't sure, if you can just browse freely without an SA - but this time anyways I was too caught up in the awkwardness of the situation to even think about it 😂, but I’ll definitely keep that in mind for next time! 😊 I remember your similar experiences at Louis Vuitton, it’s really frustrating when it feels like the customer service falls short, especially in luxury retail. It’s such a bummer about the collab timing! I had just wrapped up filming this, when I saw your reply to my comment. But let’s definitely plan something together soon 💕
Yes, the Kelly belt is hard to come by, especially in black 😅 but I also saw them online a few days ago. Buy it online or you have to be on the wait-list in store. Greetings from FFM ❤
Completely get where you’re coming from! Luxury shopping should feel rewarding and enjoyable, not like a battle to prove you’re “worthy” of spending your hard-earned money. It’s all about finding brands that align with our values and treat us with respect. Hard work deserves to be met with appreciation, not hoops to jump through. Stick with what brings you joy-that’s the ultimate luxury. ✨
Hermes customer service is getting worse and worse nowadays😢 Many of the SAs react openly if they are happy to serve the customer or not according to the item’s of categories. I’m sure the SA was more friendly if you were looking for clothes or home wears😂 I’ve heard that Kelly Belts are quite popular but saying there are no stocks of belts sounds doubtful. I hope you’ll have a nice experience in Hermes in the next trip🙌
Thank you for your kind words! 😊 I’ve also noticed that customer service can sometimes vary, based on what you’re shopping for, which non the less is kinda disappointing in a luxury setting 🙈. Here’s hoping for a better experience next time! 🙌
My very limited experience with shopping at Hermes has always been positive. Even in Paris where the whole store has been filled with people 😅 but I do still prefer online with the brand 😂 I’m not sure if any other belts are hard to get but I believe the popularity of the Kelly belt is super high. At least I see it on social media all the time. Sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy yourself!
That certainly doesn’t sound very luxurious. Sorry you had a bad experience. I also had a bad experience in a luxury store in Italy as well as a lovely one🤷♀️ I’ve only been to an Hermes store once in Australia and it was a very lacklustre experience. I have a few Hermes items and agree with purchasing online. I noticed that there are about 10 different combinations of the Kelly belt available right now on the Hermes Australia website, so those don’t seem to be difficult to obtain here at the moment.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s unfortunate that luxury shopping can be so hit or miss. It’s fascinating how availability varies - great to know the Kelly belt is so easier to find in Australia. Online shopping really does seem like the way to go sometimes! 😊
Availability is usually bad in Australia. We often don’t receive a lot of colours and styles, so I was surprised to see so much stock available on the website. People always go on about the luxury experience when buying but I actually prefer buy online. Even if you do have a good experience in store I feel there is some level of pressure to purchase.
Take this as a lesson learnt and don't waste your time with them anymore. If they mistreat you, this is because they don't target you as their core clientele. There are people that they will be happy to have in their store, take in a private room and show available bags with a glass of champagne. It's just not for you and this is perfectly OK. Don't play the game of trying to put rounds in squares and squares in rounds. This is just terrible for your self-esteem and they don’t give a s...about a negative youtube video (maybe they actually like it). Find another brand that you are more compatible with and enjoy life.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I completely understand where you're coming from, and I know my worth-I don’t measure it by how a store or its staff treats me (even-tough I'm definitely curious in, what might have lead to the reaction I got, so that's why I wanted to share my outfit aswell) . I’m not chasing after acceptance from Hermès or trying to play into their "game." However, I still admire the craftsmanship and design of certain items they create, like the belt I was looking for. For me, it’s not about being part of an exclusive clientele or chasing prestige; it’s about finding pieces that genuinely bring me joy. That said, if one experience isn’t pleasant, I’m not afraid to pivot, shop elsewhere, buy online or explore preloved options. The luxury world is vast, and there are plenty of other brands and shopping experiences that align with my values. Thank you for your advice-it’s always good to keep things in perspective! 😊
I have also been to Vienna recently, hehe. Well, main reason of me being „meh“ about entering luxury stores wrapped up in this video… The Hermes Store in Vienna has a bad reputation in different forums… They allegedly save items for local buyers. I recommend checking the French website, they have completely different stock. Yes, you can order from there even though you live in Germany, I have done it myself, I scored a belt in a size that was not available on the German website, I did not need a new account. But yeah, some belts / combos are supposedly „hard to get“… I absolutely don’t understand the „culture“ of waiting for soooo long in luxury Stores. Like, where is the luxury experience?? And if I may give some advice, always say you are looking for XY product. You can always then say it is not what you are looking for or it does not suit you as expected. That surprisingly worked for me in situations I least expected (recently in the Hermes Airport Boutique in Munich, but that is for sure different than normal local store)… Good luck on finding that belt soon, you will stumble upon it on the (whatever country) website when you least expect it 😊 I managed to score a „classic, hard to get combo“ on the website. They just have other drop algorithms than bags
Thank you so much for your detailed comment and all the tips-especially about the French website! That’s a fabulous suggestion, I had no idea about, and I’ll definitely give it a try for future searches. As for THIS belt,... possibly since this incident, I've stalked the German website like crazy... and possible, I’ve actually been lucky by now and there's an unboxing to come very soon 😏 I completely agree with you about the „culture“ of waiting in luxury stores-it feels so contradictory to the whole idea of luxury, which should be about making the customer feel special, not standing in long lines and being rushed. Thanks again for sharing your experience, and happy shopping to you! 😊
You decide, Dein hart verdientes Geld!
I assume you are talking about a Kelly lock belt. That is indeed a very popular belt. It‘s not a quota product but they tend to only offer it to people with purchase history of quota bags (Kellys and Birkins) at least if they don‘t know you in the Store.
@LuMiLevelUp yes, they did this with the chypre sandals as well. Now they're available online. You just have to check it constantly, they stock at random times. I stalked the page twice daily to get the sandals in my size and color. I'm sure the kelly belt is the same, maybe less stock, but same principle. I saw this with the collier de chien belt too. And just as a suggestion smaller boutiques are much nicer and usually have better stock, Baden-Baden for instance.
I'll stick to Stella McCartney with her vegan leather bags. I don't want a baby/youth lamb or calf skin made bag. It creeps me out too much when you know how these designer bags are really made. Many young animals are used now more than ever. I don't care about status anymore, and Hermès is too snobby.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! Stella McCartney’s commitment to ethical and sustainable practices is truly admirable, and her designs prove you don’t need animal-derived materials to create beautiful, high-quality bags. Luxury is ultimately about what makes you feel good, aligns with your values, and brings joy-not about chasing status. Hermès and similar brands may work for some people, but I really respect your decision to prioritize your ethics and stay true to yourself. Fashion should always feel empowering, not conflicting.
@LuMiLevelUp Thank you. I always now look at what a bag is made of, and I know I would feel too guilty carrying around a bag made from a young animal. Only bc I lived next to a cow farm growing up, and many times, mother cows are taken from their baby cows when it's time for mom to go to the slaughter house. These were not milk cows. These were cows that were used for beef and possibly leather. Cows in grief will moo like a sobbing human. It's not a nice thing to hear. So now that I'm an adult, I only really like to buy anything that's made of vegan leather. I also do love luxury, and I do own a vintage LV bag. I sell designer glasses and sunglasses in my line of work. I think luxury glasses are better than normal brand glasses. They are superior in some areas of craftsmanship. So I totally understand why people shop luxury, as they should. If you have the money, then go for it! I'm sorry Hermès treated you that way. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience with them in the future.
Well when you consider who Hermes was in Greek mythology, it all makes sense. Hermes was a devilish character considered “the patron deity of thieves and merchants” after he stole two cows from Apollo. These bags have become religious idols of worship at this point.
I really think she was rude that SA,not only towards you but also towards the other people.. Don’t think that you aren’t worth shopping at a Hermes boutique, some SA’s from what I understand, think that they are really important people…NOT!😂 If you can’t act normal towards your customers, you are not good at your job! I hope you will find that belt. I am sure it’s not a rare item..🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for your kind words and support! 😊 I completely agree: customer service should be about making people feel welcomed and valued, not dismissed or rushed. It’s a shame when some SAs act like gatekeepers rather than facilitators of a great shopping experience. And you’re absolutely right-no one is too important to treat others with respect! As for the belt, thank you for the encouragement! I’ve stalked the German website a lot since this happened...and maybe... possibly... I already got lucky by now and there's an unboxing soon to come 😏 Hopefully, my next boutique experience will be more pleasant, if I ever again step foot into one 😂 💕
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately I want the authentic Hermes version for that item 🙈 -I value the effort of the initial design idea and craftsmanship and I think it's a piece, that will hold it's value
The only one Hermes boutique where the service was professional and the staff was attentive was at Milan airport a few years ago. I was looking for a specific shoe model but it didn’t fit me well and SA offered me other options that were available. Lady was very polite, was in “no hurry “ and spent a lot of time with me. She also helped me choose an accessory because I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted. In all other Hermes boutiques in Europe and even Dubai, the attitude is arrogant, cold and superficial🫤 and I also think you shouldn’t worry about how you dress, you came there to spend your money and support their business. The biggest SA mistake is judging the buyer’s financial capabilities based on his appearance😢
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s so refreshing to hear about the exceptional service you received in Milan-this is exactly how luxury shopping should feel. Polite, attentive, and genuinely helpful staff can make such a difference. Sadly, your description of the arrogance and superficiality in other locations echoes what many of us have experienced. And you're absolutely right-how someone is dressed should never determine the quality of service they receive. A luxury brand should value all its customers equally. It’s disappointing when SAs make assumptions instead of focusing on creating a positive experience. Here’s hoping more boutiques take notes from places like the Milan airport!
If it‘s an allegedly hard to get belt, the resale prices don‘t save you any money and with all the superfakes going around I would be patient and check the website otherwise try other stores with better rep
You know I absolutley love a good preloved deal 😁, but I don't feel skilled and knowledgable enough to go for preloved Hermes. I need to really know a brand, to be willing to take the "preloved risk" (especially since not trusting most preloved platforms anymore 😅🙈) And @iuli3se is right here: when I then looked preloved for THAT belt, people asked for more than retail on it 🙈
Hi Marion, that sounds really disappointing. If you are fine with slightly used items and they don't necessarily have to be brand new I can recommend buying Hermès pre loved. I bought at least four Hermès items pre-loved this years (one Evelyne bag, Chypre sandals, jumping boots and Glenan bracelet) and not only did I save a lot of time (by not having to wait in line) but also quite a lot of money.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment and recommendation! 😊 I absolutely LOVE preloved shopping and don't mind first, small signs of wear at all -it’s such a smart way to save money and find unique pieces. That said, I’m not very knowledgeable about Hermès yet, so I’m still learning what to look for when shopping preloved for that particular brand. Unfortunately, I’ve had very bad experiences with Vestiaire Collective in the past, so I’m still on the hunt for a new platform, where I feel comfortable and confident shopping for secondhand luxury. Where do you do your preloved shopping?
Just mentioned to be able to differentiate the ladies groups - since it’s all been women in store, I needed some way to differentiate them in my story. Since English is not my native language, I might not be that fluent and elegant in my choice of words about it, sorry if it felt offensive to you. Too me personally it was interesting to see aswell, if tourists might be treated differently than locals: with the 3-person-ladies group beein from Austria themselves and me and the other English-Speaking lady not beeing locals 🤷🏻♀️
@@LuMiLevelUp Please, don't say sorry if you don't continue by apologising what you have done. Right way to apologise is to say "I'm sorry that I used stereotyping language. I didn't have bad intentions". And if don't want to apologise but just show sympathy, you can say "I feel bad if you got offended".
@@anthem6156 I know how to apologize, but in this case I am actually sorry for offending you and that’s what I wanted to apologize for - not for what I said! Cause indeed I had no bad intentions whatsoever and I do not even acknowledge that I used stereotypical language. I just recognize, that this is how you interpret it. Where even is the stereotype? That Austrians shop in groups of 3? Or an Asian lady got impatient, because she was kept waiting for a long time? That’s ridiculous, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with her ethnicity - you trying to make any kind of connection and frame it like a stereotype, is rather stereotyping to me. If she would have worn a bright colored shirt, a hat or whatever striking feature, I would have used that in my story to differentiate her. But all of the women in store wore kinda the same in muted colors. I didn't make any comment about the SA’s look, nationality or ethnicity at all, because she was easily to differentiate as the "SA" in the story.
Absolutely agree! Luxury shopping should feel like a special experience, not a frustrating one. At the end of the day, our hard-earned money deserves respect, no matter where we choose to spend it!
Why are you guys waiting for hours and paying tons of money for a brand which offers such poor customer service and humiliation by policy? Don't you have any self-esteem? Are you that desperate for validation? You are having a trip to one of the most beautiful cities in the world and spending your precious time waiting for a sales assistant in a stupid shop, think about it. There are much more tasteful and high-end ways to pamper yourselves with luxury and good quality. People who need a logo on their handbag or belt to prove their values are just ridiculous.
I waited about 15 minutes - not hours! Not even knowing the kind of customer service I would recieve - it was my first attempt to purchase something from the boutique. But even if some people in store decided to wait for hours: Why blame people on the internet, that seem to like other things than you do? Do I go around throwing shade at the ones, that leave rude comments due to their own low self-esteem and their own desperation for validation? No, I don’t. It was not my first time in Vienna - and since my brother in law now even moved to that city - for sure not my last visit. I don’t know why you even care about literally 15 minutes out of my day? By the way: most Hermes items do not even have a very noticeable logo on them 🤷🏻♀️
Not what you would call an encouraging in-store experience. 🙄 Even if your SA had already been pestered by customers demanding Bs & Ks, there's no reason to be curt towards you. Maybe they DID already know they had none of the belt you were after, but they could've conveyed it in a more pleasant way. I hope you find it online. 🤞🏻
Thank you Gwenny - completely agree, there’s no reason for a client advisor to be that curt, regardless of how demanding their day might has been (especially when it's only been 30 minutes into the work day so far - how terrible can these previous clients already have been? 😅🙈 ). Even if they genuinely didn’t have the belt, communicating it in a more pleasant and professional way would have made such a difference. Maaaaaybe, I stalked the website like crazy after that incident... and maybe I already got lucky by now 😏
I find this suspicious to see commenst "flooded " with positive feedback from customers. Everything you say d...smtglike its their selling srrategy or dntb or mayne they are ass*oles. Just buy a bekt from a different shop and dont go to hermes anymore l.
Hmm, I think the feedback in the comments is about 50/50 - maybe even more people sharing similar negative experiences. I still want the belt, but I will try to buy online and safe myself all the hassle surrounding it!
If the SA got clients in line and u went to her and talk to her asking for an item whichever is that. Whether a belt, twilly or fine jewellery.Thats rude as well. U need to wait for your time to be served. I have SA for 9years but if she got a clients in line,I really wait for my turn whether its 30 or an hour.that’s what u call courtesy. If u are looking for a kelly belt, then yes,its hard to get. Interrupting an SA with clients that they are dealing with is definitely not classy and rude.
@@styleiteverywhere114 did you even watch the video? I interrupted no one (unlike the the Asian lady did, who pushed her way forward, when it would have already been my turn). I waited in line at the door, she was at the counter in the reception area - there were no of her clients in sight, other than the group in front of me, that she sent away to wait for an hour. Then the Asian lady that did not even wait in line and when it was my turn, SHE asked me, how she can help - and then didn’t help me at all 😂 If she actually already had 10 clients waiting, she should stop recievieng new people at the welcome-counter: cause how should those people even know??
@@tchaiamnajdust not sure if you’re talking about Hermès or me wanting a belt 😆 different people enjoy different things - and I had no idea the visit to the boutique would turn out like that 🤷🏻♀️
If it was the Kelly belt then yes they are crazy hard to get your hands on one. I’m so sorry you had a bad experience. Luxury stores are definitely hit or miss. 🤎🤎🤎
Thank you for your comment! I really had no idea, that some Hermes belts even are hard to get! 😅 It really caught me off guard that day! You're absolutely right, though, luxury shopping can be such a hit or miss. Sometimes you feel special and pampered, and other times... well, you leave wondering why you even tried. 😬 Thank you for your kind words-I really appreciate it!
It’s because all the top tier are satisfied. No time for ordinary folk. Hermes gives bbq sauce and country music anyway.
It is simple, if you go into store filled with RUDE sales people, walk out.
@@youngandrestlessjean3634 thank you for sharing your shopping experience, but I‘m sorry it was a bad one!
I was too surprised to even laugh 😂
@@LuMiLevelUp I know its just bizarre
if it was the kelly belt - almost no chance in vienna and probably everywhere else (heard about waiting lists) specially as a non local, it’s better to try online.
edit: the only countries i know where u can lookup the kelly belt store stock on the website are uk, usa/in vienna in store e.g. i only got the reversible 24 belt (gold black) with constance buckle a couple weeks ago (u can also lookup the vienna store stock for some reversible belts) - i am a local and wore jeans, with converse, no expensive brand handbag - came from work…. you were def “better“ dressed than me.
Same here. 😉
I can’t understand why people even go there.
It was my first time trying to buy something in the boutique 😅 didn’t expect it would be like that 🤷🏻♀️
Play stupid games; don't win stupid prizes.
Haha, that's a good summary of the whole ordeal! Sometimes these "luxury games" just aren’t worth playing.
And also respect myself enough, so “F*ck all these mean brands, I can buy it from China”
Comes with similar quality, and fraction of the price: like 150 for a Kelly of any color and any hardware… no waiting, no drama, no intimidating experience. And I will invest the rest 20000 usd in stock market 🎉 again, I was against fakes my entire life, and I can professionally spot them. But hearing all this stories makes me respect my peace and freedom of choice even more ❤
And I do recommend vintage.
How times have changed, did not know they were limited as I always see the belts at airport boutiques.
I never would have thought so either - now I know better 😂🙈
It’s always fascinating to hear how stock varies across countries-it makes the hunt even more intriguing, though sometimes frustrating!
I'm sorry that you had unpleasant experience at Hermes... I did too once a while... But I do know that Kelly belt is often out of stock though. Then I turned myself to other Hermes shops if I encountered the SA with an attitude...
Thank you for your kind comment and sharing your experience!
Everything is hard to get at Hermes’. Like everything 😅 the last time I went into the Sydney Hermes boutique, I think I was one of two clients. I didn’t have an appointment but they let me wander around until an SA could help me. It was a weekday, so probably that help😅
Sorry to hear that they were so off-putting towards you..
Yaah, I bet weekdays are a tad less busy - unfortunately most people have to earn the money, they want to spend at Hermès ,during weekdays 😂. But days off probably are the better choice over weekends!
Sorry about your experience. I've had many such experiences😅 it's ok you'll meet an SA that is nice one day don't give up if you still want a bag!😊
I remember your similar experiences at Louis Vuitton, it’s really frustrating when it feels like the customer service falls short, especially in luxury retail.
It’s such a bummer about the collab timing! I had just wrapped up filming this, when I saw your reply to my comment. But let’s definitely plan something together soon 💕
@ Yes, let’s think of an idea! In fact, someone just mentioned to me about a collab. I’ll send you details!
Yes, the Kelly belt is hard to come by, especially in black 😅 but I also saw them online a few days ago. Buy it online or you have to be on the wait-list in store. Greetings from FFM ❤
After this incident, I started stalking the website - and possibly by now I‘ve already been successful online 😏. Thank you 🥰
I’ll stick to my Chanels, Diors and YSL’s. Why would I beg to spend my money when I worked hard to make my money?
Completely get where you’re coming from! Luxury shopping should feel rewarding and enjoyable, not like a battle to prove you’re “worthy” of spending your hard-earned money.
It’s all about finding brands that align with our values and treat us with respect. Hard work deserves to be met with appreciation, not hoops to jump through. Stick with what brings you joy-that’s the ultimate luxury. ✨
Hermes customer service is getting worse and worse nowadays😢 Many of the SAs react openly if they are happy to serve the customer or not according to the item’s of categories. I’m sure the SA was more friendly if you were looking for clothes or home wears😂
I’ve heard that Kelly Belts are quite popular but saying there are no stocks of belts sounds doubtful.
Ha, I had some of my worst shopping experiences in Vienna so I’m not surprised at all.
Haha, oh no, sorry to hear that 🙈 (but aswell a little bit glad, I‘m not alone 😅🙈)

Thank you so much for your kind comment 🥰
My very limited experience with shopping at Hermes has always been positive. Even in Paris where the whole store has been filled with people 😅 but I do still prefer online with the brand 😂 I’m not sure if any other belts are hard to get but I believe the popularity of the Kelly belt is super high. At least I see it on social media all the time. Sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy yourself!
I didn’t even dare to enter the Paris boutique 😂, but mainly because I didn’t have a purchase on my mind, when we were in Paris… oh well 🤷🏻♀️😂
That certainly doesn’t sound very luxurious. Sorry you had a bad experience. I also had a bad experience in a luxury store in Italy as well as a lovely one🤷♀️
I’ve only been to an Hermes store once in Australia and it was a very lacklustre experience.
Well, main reason of me being „meh“ about entering luxury stores wrapped up in this video…
The Hermes Store in Vienna has a bad reputation in different forums… They allegedly save items for local buyers. I recommend checking the French website, they have completely different stock. Yes, you can order from there even though you live in Germany, I have done it myself, I scored a belt in a size that was not available on the German website, I did not need a new account. But yeah, some belts / combos are supposedly „hard to get“…
I absolutely don’t understand the „culture“ of waiting for soooo long in luxury Stores. Like, where is the luxury experience??
And if I may give some advice, always say you are looking for XY product. You can always then say it is not what you are looking for or it does not suit you as expected. That surprisingly worked for me in situations I least expected (recently in the Hermes Airport Boutique in Munich, but that is for sure different than normal local store)…
Good luck on finding that belt soon, you will stumble upon it on the (whatever country) website when you least expect it 😊 I managed to score a „classic, hard to get combo“ on the website. They just have other drop algorithms than bags
Thank you so much for your detailed comment and all the tips-especially about the French website! That’s a fabulous suggestion, I had no idea about, and I’ll definitely give it a try for future searches. As for THIS belt,... possibly since this incident, I've stalked the German website like crazy... and possible, I’ve actually been lucky by now and there's an unboxing to come very soon 😏
I completely agree with you about the „culture“ of waiting in luxury stores-it feels so contradictory to the whole idea of luxury, which should be about making the customer feel special, not standing in long lines and being rushed.
Thanks again for sharing your experience, and happy shopping to you! 😊
@@LuMiLevelUp Oh, sooo exciting, I can’t wait for the unboxing and to see if I am right with my guess on what belt you wanted 🤩🤩🤩
We don’t have the belt but would you like this mini Kelly? Pity about your bad experience there. You are good enough
@@moff8631 hahahaha, I wish it would have been like that 😂 - thank you for your comment!
@LuMiLevelUp ❤️
I seriously had no idea. Kinda crazy though, considering it is even possible to get the belt online - which will be my way to go!
Da fuq? No it ussed to be availablle all the time online. They are playing games. Stop letting these idiots insult you
I understand you have to build up a purchase record before you can buy a bag.
@@sheilabloom6735 I definitely knew that for bags, but it’s new to me for belts 🙈💕
You are better than Hermes!
Thank you 🥰❤️
I'll stick to Stella McCartney with her vegan leather bags.
The Hermes bags are ugly.
@sheilabloom6735 Haha, that too.
Do not waste your money in this.
I don’t plan on playing any games - but I really want that belt 😂. Online is the way to go for me!
don‘t worry, they are always like that in the vienna‘s boutique 😅 the nicest people there are securities
Hahaha, glad to hear that, it absolutely matches my experience there!
Well when you consider who Hermes was in Greek mythology, it all makes sense. Hermes was a devilish character considered “the patron deity of thieves and merchants” after he stole two cows from Apollo. These bags have become religious idols of worship at this point.
Hahaha, thank you for sharing!
That sounds like such an irritating experience!
Indeed it was.. absolutely not what I was expecting 😅🙈
I really think she was rude that SA,not only towards you but also towards the other people..
Don’t think that you aren’t worth shopping at a Hermes boutique, some SA’s from what I understand, think that they are really important people…NOT!😂
If you can’t act normal towards your customers, you are not good at your job!
I hope you will find that belt. I am sure it’s not a rare item..🤷🏻♀️
Vienna H Store has a bad rep
Thank you for your kind words and support! 😊 I completely agree: customer service should be about making people feel welcomed and valued, not dismissed or rushed. It’s a shame when some SAs act like gatekeepers rather than facilitators of a great shopping experience. And you’re absolutely right-no one is too important to treat others with respect!
As for the belt, thank you for the encouragement! I’ve stalked the German website a lot since this happened...and maybe... possibly... I already got lucky by now and there's an unboxing soon to come 😏
Hopefully, my next boutique experience will be more pleasant, if I ever again step foot into one 😂 💕
@iuli3se why am I absolutely not surprised about that? 😂🙈
,you have to go to another boutique..you have to overcome this trauma boutique!Just let us know how it went!😉👍
Wow
Thanks
Kelly belt is hard to get
Before that experience, I really had no idea, there are even rare belts - thank you for sharing!
There are very nice dupes out there for a fraction of the price in the store.
Eye opening
Thank you
Beautiful
Thank you
Worth the video, i just buy online and preloved sellers are so much nicer
If it‘s an allegedly hard to get belt, the resale prices don‘t save you any money and with all the superfakes going around I would be patient and check the website otherwise try other stores with better rep
You know I absolutley love a good preloved deal 😁, but I don't feel skilled and knowledgable enough to go for preloved Hermes. I need to really know a brand, to be willing to take the "preloved risk" (especially since not trusting most preloved platforms anymore 😅🙈)
And @iuli3se is right here: when I then looked preloved for THAT belt, people asked for more than retail on it 🙈
Hi Marion, that sounds really disappointing.
I have never heard they are limited, but I usually see them at the airport boutiques.
I've seen maaaany belts in boutiques before aswell - but until now, I hadn't paid attention to whether THIS belt ever was available 😅
Is there a reason why the ethnicity or nationality is so important in this story that it's worth to mention? Sounds like stereotyping to me.
They don’t deserve my hard earned money!
Absolutely agree! Luxury shopping should feel like a special experience, not a frustrating one. At the end of the day, our hard-earned money deserves respect, no matter where we choose to spend it!
💕💕😇
🧡🧡🧡
Ohh they didnt 😂
They didn't have a single belt in store? 🤪
Then the Asian lady that did not even wait in line and when it was my turn, SHE asked me, how she can help - and then didn’t help me at all 😂
If she actually already had 10 clients waiting, she should stop recievieng new people at the welcome-counter: cause how should those people even know??
Dumb nonsense....
