When you level up especially in the parkour web, you unlock more impressive stunts like actual vaults over walls and railings and rolling after a fall to reduce fall damage. And what hurts me the most, is the comment "There could be more moves in the game". There are more moves. Guy didn't do single roll, which was pointed out multiple times and Dying Light is very heavy on doing those rolls for keeping pace. Why didn't they show some parkour challenge from the game?
You should show footage of people that actually know thane map and and do the best parkour in the game and not what looks like someone who has been playing the game for around 7 hours
I have to say, this is a really bad representation of the game. The player in the game barely has any of the agility skills and are extremely low level, they pick parts of the map that don't have great parkour and are more open. They don't show any zombie chase moments at night which are the best showcases of parkour in the game. All in all, not good enough, should've spent more time in the game before rushing a video
They did the same on spec ops video, just put a random moment and cut to another random moment, u can see the 2 guys reacting actually don't understand what's going on
They complain about how there's no rolls but there IS rolls in the game but the clip was horrible and didn't show them (they also missed alot of parkour moves in the game)
I have the impression that the person playing the game on the movie played it for the first time and did not use all the skills related to moving like a fall roll, which made it a little unimpressive than in reality this game offers

@@DragonMasterCOD I meant in the video. I use it in the game but in the video they should be trying to show the parkour not the grappling hook and jump kick.
This is a very poor demonstration of the game, the player isn't going to good places, they probably barely finished the toutorial to get the footage so they are in a very low level and don't have alot of moves, also they don't show old town which is amazing for parkour also they haven't shown any clips of getting chased by volitiles or virals cus they can move as quick as a low level player, my suggestion is to either do a part 2 or remake this one with footage from an experienced player, oh ya! Don't forget to put the dropping on a zombie and bashing there head in, sooper satisfying stuff
"why isn't the character rolling after falling from that height" That's because the person who is playing the game is maybe on the "journalism" difficulty (iykwim 😆) and all his move sets and parkour skills are locked. When you progress through your agility levels and level up your character more all the aforementioned "parkour" moves are basically unlocked and integrated with the progression.
See I would agree with you, but they have the grappling hook, which is a LATE LATE L A T E game unlock. Survivor rank 15, and agility/power levels about the same rate or even faster depending. So they really had no excuse. If you have a grappling hook you likely have the roll.
@@Phaedians See not everyone likes to shit on a games natural progression, and they still have other abilities further into the skill tree. If they don't know how to play competently they likely wont know how to dupe.

@@ReachEvilCity but why do it in the first area then? If anything i feel like the second area would be a WAY better place to record the footage considering the amount of shit you climb and do stuff in
Ok I'm really starting to get annoyed. Theres a trend in these videos where they take the time out of very talented people's day to show them the most boring uninspired clips imaginable. Like this video shows boring level 1 moves with no flow when they are clearly max level being able to unlock the grappling hook. The other video that actually infuriated me was the for honor video. Having the recording consist of a single light or heavy attack every 20 seconds on a stationary ai. It really makes me sad because I think the game are pretty neat but as this video can show almost every guest on this show leaves feeling disappointed that the games are very boring and bland with nothing to do when there is so much cool stuff that could have been shown. Which sucks because it is an absolutely fantastic premise that sadly just seems to go to waste.
Right? I’m a parkour athlete myself and a gamer. You can make the parkour feel realistic or just jump jump jump fling across jump slam into trash bags. They have a slap landing move, a roll, etc. its kinda like how skate 3 can be an incredible skate simulator or it can be gapping a mountain and landing back on the other ramp while doing a miracle whip. I’ve played a lot of parkour games and this one has the best movement system by far.
They should stop showing them boring clips and let them play it themself. Or let someone better play the game Also....David Belle worked on this.... the founder of pakour

This is the first time I've ever felt so infuriated on watching a Gamology video. What kind of fool did they hire to make such a poor excuse of a gameplay? it really gives the game a bad name because of this. I honestly request another react, but this time with actual competent players, rather than someone who had no idea what they are doing.
any other dying light fans here disappointed on how they reviewed this? I think they should have at least read the story of the game then reviewed the parkour. it would have made them more familiar with the environment.
Same. Thought I was watching bot. Their camera control was so bad. They literally just completed the tutorial and did the basic moves. They didn’t show the vaulting, rolling, and tons of other moves. They need to get gameplay experts for these videos.
That's what Gamology seems to do. Get experts in but show them early gameplay before you level up. They did it last week with another game though I don't remember what it was.
Idea: you guys could set up a discord where viewers can submit clips of their own game play and you guys can pick out the best of them (viewer interaction !!!) to showcase to the reactors , because I’ve noticed that a lot of the gameplay in these vids is often the weakest part of the videos themselves ,by that I mean it’s usually very hard to watch because of the play style often being a bit slow (my zoomer mind needs stimulation !!!) and isn’t usually fully representative of the main aspect being shown off in the game As an example, this video makes the game feel extremely slow (of course every player has their own play style) but I feel ,and I’m sure others too, feel this game requires a lot of momentum when running (similar to sonic) where once you start running you keep going and don’t stop to hesitate, wondering if a jump is scary or impossible, keeping the flow going or whatever And a discord would be great for viewers to recommend videos in the future and maybe even gusts one day too !! *Sorry for all the grammar mistakes English isn’t my first Language

"um, we're at a low level so we dont have the roll or any of the other flashy expert like parkour abilities equipped yet..." "Bah, who cares, I dont have time for that - just send them in and react to it. These so called experts wont notice it"
And let the experts say it's not realistic (not that it's 100% realistic) because the player wasn't doing safety rolls and stuff. And oh look. Showing off consecutive drop kicks in the middle of the street.
"Can't we use footage from a person who is legend lvl 250 or something?" "Nah we have the dropkick and grappling hook, don't worry" "This makes no sense, so are we gonna make the title Parkour experts react to a noob playing dying light for the first time?" and they even mention to use roll and 99% of the dying community has that

Yeah. They thought it was a Zipline which confused them when the player Grappled to the top of a building, which is a Grappling Hook, and that is how a Grappling Hook works, but Grappling to the ground in real life would just cause you to fall to the ground and break all the bones in your body.
@@SSaNNEE100 nah i used a grappling hook in real life and it feels like the one in dying light albeit that one i was using was a grappling gun sitting on a roof
The “zip line” early on is the grappling hook item being used, also the reason he doesn’t roll when dropping from a high place, is because the person either hasn’t unlocked the roll skill or isn’t pressing C when they’re about to land to activate it
Love the reactions but the footages were chosen very badly. This game has so many more interesting environments and stunts. It's a shame that they were only shown the very basics of the game.
A lot of people are annoyed about the not so great gameplay, and I'm right there with them. Not only was the gameplay itself mediocre at best, but it was of a player with a really low agility level. They didn't have the roll unlocked, they didn't have my personal favorite move, the tic-tac, and they didn't even showcase the dodge, which they could have had. Sure, the dodge isn't exactly parkour, but it's there. Plus, being a higher agility level makes the movement faster, which they specifically commented that the speed of the movement was pretty normal. I would've liked to see what they'd say about the faster movement.
Alright, i love dying light so imma just, nitpick my way through this. 2:35: That is a grappling hook. 2:40: The whole point of Dying Light is not really to be standard but understandable :D 3:17: Yes, they did. I am not sure how it works but it is probably the best mobility skill in the game. 3:22; This is the right way to look at it. 3:37: In third person, you can see he has his feet against the wall itself. The arm extension is more just aiming if anything, but i dont know if that part is viable. He didnt just throw himself with one arm though. 5:06: for the rush. 5:14 Not messed up, ill get into it more later, but those bags are put there on purpose, and are full of soft stuff. 5:35 calling Kyle Crane a regular guy is like calling Issac Clarke or Aiden Pearce normal guys. I mean sure, its true, but it doesn't quite reflect everything they are somehow capable of. 5:42 trying to put that kinda view in the game would be one, horribly disorientating, and two, hard as hell to program. Id get super motion sick for sure. 6:21 This games zombies are insanely clumsy. Thats why the game drives home parkour so much, as your biggest ability and edge against the hordes is your agility... Except when fighting Virals and Volatiles, who are fully capable of parkour and are terrifying for newer players but mildly irritating for others. 6:49 Its been a bit, but if i remember correctly, thats exactly what he is doing, at least if you are right at the edge and do a normal vault. You can just fling yourself over shit, but vaults are done with hands usually. 6:59: He can roll, your gameplayer chooses not to. Granted it is a skill ability you learn, however, this makes sense as the protagonist doesn't actually know shit about parkour, he has a bit of unrefined natural talent you start with that you sharpen in the game as time goes on, from simple climbing and jumps to I am basically a human cat 7:05: I think tetanus is the least worrying affliction for him right now. 7:40 and the game punishes you for it, it shows clearly him getting hurt by it. 8:05: this area of the game is known as "The Slums" so...yeah. 8:43 he doesn't really have time to plan. 9:14 Now THIS, is ziplining. 9:35: Grappling hook. Not neccessarily a realistic one, but its a grappling hook, going up or down makes plenty of sense. 10:03 this is actually done on purpose, not just for gameplay but in universe too. The main survivor faction is lead by a parkour teacher named Brecken, who taught all them how to freerun and stuff and essentially made them able to get around. Thats why you see traps, the blue bags, so on, they are survivor made for survivor use. 11:14 Its easy quick mobility for filling gaps you cant make. By the time the grappling hook is availible its late game, so instead of being a crutch its more of a bridge, allowing you to do crazier more risky stunts. I've flung myself off plenty of buildings and impossible gaps to transition into a grapple that finishes it. Old town is a great place to show off that kinda movement style specifically. 11:11 Yep! He is a bit of a dick but he is a human. He runs the weapons challenges and is using the apocalypse as free VFX for his zombie killer action movie shit. 11:35 Slums. 11:43: This is way slower than most virals I have seen. As for the distance on kicks, it could be argued the gases of decomposition make them kinda sorta float a bit...? Honestly i think its just for shits and giggles, as well as clear utility. 11:57 he usually HAS a weapon, and tucks it away or holds it for moves depending on its size. 12:17 Dying Light, because night time brings out horrendously dangerous "Volatiles" who are apex nocturnal predators and they will tear a newbie to fucking pieces.. 12:28 He has his shoulder mounted flashlight, and he is relying on the lack of able motion from the zombies as compared to his own movement ability. 12:44: Two things: Crane does a lot of night runs because he is really the only one who can, protagonist advantages, and two, its damn near impossible to see in the dark in this game. There is no eye adjusting. :( 13:21 believe me, he uses plenty by this point. And hes damn good with them, taking on a demolisher with basically only a melee weapon. Also, thats the main antagonist and his goons. Some people are just evil. 14:28 Here is the main issue that compelled me to make this comment. Kyle Crane is very much so an unorthodox freerunner. He is primarily self taught and had very little experience "Closest I ever got to this was running track in high school" in such a matter, so yea, HELL no. Hes not gonna do things properly he does things how he feels comfortable and how he learns. 14:37 Your runner didnt nail it. The game did, but the player didnt show this. You are punished for falling and screwing up, there are plenty of skills that work more like normal parkour would, especially with the roll that is a fucking lifesaver for drops, disorientating or not. He does land with his hands and feet too sometimes, its all just gameplay dude, it happens. Anyways, I doubt this will be read, but if you have the opportunity, look into more gameplay. I promise you wont be disappointed (ESPECIALLY OLD TOWN)
As someone that has played Dying Light for the past 4 years please show them all the parkour skills and not the basic shit. This didn’t do Dying Light service.
But its not even trying to be realistic game in that sense its very scifi and they have exosuites or something like that. Try it out yourself with a 3kg AR rifle and vaulting at the same time, keeping momentum, shooting while you plan your next movement. So I would not call it a parkour game.
These videos kind of make me annoyed because the player that is playing the game does not know much about the game and shows A bad representation of the overall game to the reactors.

@@afropunk902 The military obstacle stuff is very different to actual parkour (I believe it still exists tho) and parkour in the 90s is quite different to parkour in 2010s. Hébert is simply saying that they had good control and skills just from a kind of natural method of training which is the basis of his reasoning. Not that they used the moves that parkour has. Which is obvious because much of parkour is developed in an urban context which those tribal africans certainly didn't have, the point is the basic method not particular moves. One of the founders of parkour said much the same thing as that quote. Claiming that the essence of parkour is moving as we naturally would if we lived in natural environments and had to move around a lot. Moving like animals do.

I’m a dying light veteran and this guy playing is simply just awful at the parkour
True
It hurts my eyes
And what hurts me the most, is the comment "There could be more moves in the game". There are more moves. Guy didn't do single roll, which was pointed out multiple times and Dying Light is very heavy on doing those rolls for keeping pace. Why didn't they show some parkour challenge from the game?
Same bro I am too and this guy just sucks ngl
Yeah exactly he didn't do the drop role which I do alot when dropping from high up
7:00 there’s actually a skill in this game that allows you to roll when falling from heights, to reduce fall damage
You should show footage of people that actually know thane map and and do the best parkour in the game and not what looks like someone who has been playing the game for around 7 hours
dude in every goddamn video they do this shit. i really don't know tf is wrong with these guys. i think they don't even play videogames lol
They might as well of done the parkour trailer for dying light 2 at this point
@@Volfur2251 basically
Do you really think this is 7 hours in? Maybe 2 at best? lol
Bruh more like 30 minutes
I have to say, this is a really bad representation of the game. The player in the game barely has any of the agility skills and are extremely low level, they pick parts of the map that don't have great parkour and are more open. They don't show any zombie chase moments at night which are the best showcases of parkour in the game. All in all, not good enough, should've spent more time in the game before rushing a video
Seems a bit low effort
Couldn't say it better
Ofc
They did the same on spec ops video, just put a random moment and cut to another random moment, u can see the 2 guys reacting actually don't understand what's going on
Ikr, it’s kind of annoying when the player in these videos don’t really know that much about the game and the reactors thinks the game is trash
They complain about how there's no rolls but there IS rolls in the game but the clip was horrible and didn't show them (they also missed alot of parkour moves in the game)
Blame Gameology for giving them such a piss poor demonstration
I still remember when Rahim jumped in the garbage pretending he broke a leg😄
8:28 I love how the zombie just falls down and beaks his back 😂 😂
I have the impression that the person playing the game on the movie played it for the first time and did not use all the skills related to moving like a fall roll, which made it a little unimpressive than in reality this game offers
Why in gods name would they use the grappling hook though? And more than once!

Don't forget to put the dropping on a zombie and bashing there head in, sooper satisfying stuff
they aren't very low level
they have the feckin' grappling hook

"why isn't the character rolling after falling from that height"
That's because the person who is playing the game is maybe on the "journalism" difficulty (iykwim 😆) and all his move sets and parkour skills are locked. When you progress through your agility levels and level up your character more all the aforementioned "parkour" moves are basically unlocked and integrated with the progression.
@Hector 40000 so the game is trash?
See I would agree with you, but they have the grappling hook, which is a LATE LATE L A T E game unlock. Survivor rank 15, and agility/power levels about the same rate or even faster depending. So they really had no excuse. If you have a grappling hook you likely have the roll.
@@lordsickomode grapple hook is survivor 12. Also, you’re able to farm and dupe for survivor levels, so that is irrelevant

Which sucks because it is an absolutely fantastic premise that sadly just seems to go to waste.
yeah
This comment must be higher. This horrible videos are ruining show.
YES EXACTLY

Idea:
you guys could set up a discord where viewers can submit clips of their own game play and you guys can pick out the best of them (viewer interaction !!!) to showcase to the reactors , because I’ve noticed that a lot of the gameplay in these vids is often the weakest part of the videos themselves ,by that I mean it’s usually very hard to watch because of the play style often being a bit slow (my zoomer mind needs stimulation !!!) and isn’t usually fully representative of the main aspect being shown off in the game
As an example, this video makes the game feel extremely slow (of course every player has their own play style) but I feel ,and I’m sure others too, feel this game requires a lot of momentum when running (similar to sonic) where once you start running you keep going and don’t stop to hesitate, wondering if a jump is scary or impossible, keeping the flow going or whatever
And a discord would be great for viewers to recommend videos in the future and maybe even gusts one day too !!
*Sorry for all the grammar mistakes English isn’t my first Language

Yeah. They thought it was a Zipline which confused them when the player Grappled to the top of a building, which is a Grappling Hook, and that is how a Grappling Hook works, but Grappling to the ground in real life would just cause you to fall to the ground and break all the bones in your body.

“Ohh, I’m gonna do that and land on a bag of rusty knives I just know it”
The “zip line” early on is the grappling hook item being used, also the reason he doesn’t roll when dropping from a high place, is because the person either hasn’t unlocked the roll skill or isn’t pressing C when they’re about to land to activate it
Love the reactions but the footages were chosen very badly.
2:40: The whole point of Dying Light is not really to be standard but understandable :D
3:17: Yes, they did.
Granted it is a skill ability you learn, however, this makes sense as the protagonist doesn't actually know shit about parkour, he has a bit of unrefined natural talent you start with that you sharpen in the game as time goes on, from simple climbing and jumps to I am basically a human cat
7:05: I think tetanus is the least worrying affliction for him right now.
13:21 believe me, he uses plenty by this point.
How about they react to a dying light exper runner. This guy had like to style while playing. You can do a lot more than the 5 ways he did

I just love the fact that omar is in all of these vids big thx for Techland!
"You can't parkour with a weapon"

But its not even trying to be realistic game in that sense its very scifi and they have exosuites or something like that. Try it out yourself with a 3kg AR rifle and vaulting at the same time, keeping momentum, shooting while you plan your next movement. So I would not call it a parkour game.
