I think the reason Rick Owens is considered super good at designing is because he is. I mean most of his clothes aren't ment for the adverage person. They are avant garde and most people don't consume fashion the way Rick Owens is intended to be. I personally wouldn't where his stuff but I can respect that people who understand fashion better than 99.9% of people think he is a genius. I personally don't care enough about fashion a whole ton but it's clear that from looking at his pieces he is able to create super unique silhouettes, create great perportion, layer really well and in super unique ways, and his color choices are always on point (when he uses color of course).

I agree with what you said about the lack of individuality in the social media era of fashion but I gotta say Rick is highly renowned for a reason. Just the way he plays with silhouette without really doing much with the color palettes or prints is something else. His main focus is on silhouette which a lot of designers have cast aside for prints or logos because they are easier. Don’t get me wrong I love logos but the deeper you go into his work it’s not just Ramones. Although I do agree people have hopped on the Rick Owens bandwagon because other famous people have and they really only buy into the mainline shit. Which is fine but everyone is starting to look the same.
