its really good for the price. i got one in my 96 caprice and it sounds amazing with stock 1996 speakers in the front doors and 2 pioneer 6x9s in the rear deck. sounds really good and the way my eq is tuned with my subs i can turn the volume all the way up with no distortion.

No one ever shows if it’s possible to use the radio and CarPlay navigation at the same time. I have one vehicle with a stock radio that does this. I bought one after market radio for my JEEP and it will not do this so I returned it. And I have been looking for a replacement since. No video shows this working. Always pandora, Spotify, or something else besides traditional AM/FM. Something that basic should work.
Thanks for the video. After viewing and doing my own research i decided to take your advice and purchase it. Initially, i was going to go with a Navos OE over the expensive Stinger. But the boss does all of it at a fraction of the cost. Skol!
@Down South Off-Road and Outdoor one thing I noticed instead of plugging the phone to it, you can use Android Auto to connect via Bluetooth. Didn't know if you know, I also got mine for $190 and you said you got yours for less than $300. Was that because of the extras you got?
@@UltronMark1 yeah by the time I added the dash and steering wheel kits. Yeah I plug it there to charge now because I actually prefer seeing my map on the phone.
I installed the 8 inch version and love it. One thing I noticed is the rear speakers are not as loud as before. I have the 2011 JK with just speakers above my head. Have you noticed?
I bought the stinger for my ram 2500. It’s nice but the one major draw back is the navigation is really laggy. If I’m in an area I can use my iPhone and use that navigation it’s great. Thanks for the informative video

@@DownSouth_AdventuresI was worried about bumpy roads cause problems later down the road since the screen just plugs in the front. All the vibrations cause bad connections. Do you think that would be a problem?
@@DownSouth_Adventures I was almost thinking of getting a marine grade system for a boat. Just in case inside gets wet. Lol. Sometimes water makes its way in my rig. 😂
How are you liking the speaker upgrade so far. looking to upgrade my stock speakers to just get a better quality sound, not so much worried about bass as I am about the crappy 80's walkman sound JK speakers provide.
I am mad that I got a smaller size speaker set up for sure….I didn’t realize I could’ve went bigger until we were installing them but they are definitely better than factory.
@@DownSouth_Adventures out of curiosity though, for those that may consider this stereo; can you view the camera anytime or does it have to be in reverse?
Thank you very much for the video. A lot of fun and informative! Jeep JK is a double din. Why did you go for a single din? Are there any differences in features or performance between Boss's double and single din options? I believe BVCP9700A-C is the double din option for JKs.
I liked having the option to tilt the screen, and the extra pocket below is a plus. We have a double din in my wife’s wrangler and the glare on the screen can be awful at certain times of the day
I have the same unit and kicker 6x9s up front and the 6 1/2 in the rear…just a fyi the unit adjusts up and down as well-as tilt. Don’t be afraid to grab a hold of it💯
I'm Brazilian and I'm researching some models. Do you recommend this device BVCP9700A-CFL? Are audio quality, equalizations and connectivity good? Here in my country, I don't find much review of this model
They quality is always better when plugged in for carplay but I don't notice much difference between them. I've been running this stereo for a while now and have no real complaints at all...It just seems to work at a great price.
Do you know how far out the face of the radio is from the dash? I'm looking to put this stereo in my 1987 Corvette but I have about 2 inches between the factory dash trim piece and my shifter knob
The stereo looks great in there. I plan on replacing the radio in my LJ and since it is a single din, this radio will fit nicely. How does the built-in amp sound with the new speakers? I tried to buy the Kickers and they were on backorder, so I bought the JBL's. Big mistake as they offer no bass at all. The stock alpine speakers in the JK provide more bass than these do.
I’m wondering, if the screen mirrors your phone, is it even necessary to continue having the phone mounted where it is and could you not just keep the phone in the console out of the way? Thanks for reviewing this, it looks like it will be a great choice for my 2012 Rubicon.
In this video you connected to the unit by cable.. do you have to wire connect to mirror your phone or can you run nav. Apps and so on through blue tooth.
For this model it’s a wired connection but I hate change and prefer my maps on my phone attached up higher in my line of sight so I never use CarPlay only Bluetooth.
