If you enjoyed this, and especislly the retro vibe, I definitely recommend continuing to explore them. They bring an old school style with them but can make it sound fresh. Spillways or Mary on a Cross would both be excellent to look at next. But honestly anything you can find of theirs on RUclips should be excellent. They rarely ever miss
I listened to Ghost for years before I got into their lore. Yes, Ghost has a lore, a whole fictional story about why everyone is in a mask and why each singer is a "Papa" and who their father and mother are etc. The crazy stuff about Tobias is he apparently has songs written years in advance and a plan for when those songs will be released and they won't be released until they are ready because he has plotted the lore years earlier. So when you watch a lore video that they post on their channel if a character says even a word the fans will analyse it for weeks or years even trying to figure out what it means for five years from now.
If you haven't yet, you must check out "Cirice". Amazing song and video. "You will never walk alone, you can always reach me / Call me...Little Sunshine" And, yes, my name is a direct reference to this song lol
Ghost writes very melody friendly songs meant to subvert the oppressive church marketing machine. Though, to be fair not every song is a subversive take on the church. Though, songs like Mary On A Cross SOUND like they could be, that song is not. Tobias, the only actual member of the band, said it's about trying to make it (in the biz) with your friends and going down in history in a good or bad way. You might enjoy it.
