- Johnny Heineken showing off his mad wingfoiling skills the day before the AWSI show in September 2023. More show videos coming soon, stay tuned to the Blue Planet Surf RUclips channel.
This is the gear Johnny is using, in his words:
That's a 3.6m ozone proto/aluula flux. I was riding the ML700 with 96cm mast. Funny that you got this session cause it is the one time I tried the 700 in the two months I was up there! It was fun for the lighter breeze that afternoon.

what a great and impressive wing lesson !!
Yes, so smooth!
Videos don't do justice to how fast Johnny sails. It's mind blowing seeing him live
Speechless. This is so next level it’s more magic than skills.
Johnny is truly 1 with the elements. Just beautiful to watch. Very inspiring!
The guy and his ml foils are the most fluid in the business for years now 👍
I need to practice! We want more footage Johnny! I love those behind the back tacks. Thanks Blueplanet for the inspiration.
Next level foiling, JH has blown the envelope wide open
Thanks for sharing...a real dance
Glad you enjoyed it
Crazy quick foot switch 1:16. I like his Heineken jibes too.
Johnny is really next level!
Inspiring and aspirational to watch this guy foil. Never going to get to his level and that does not matter, every clip I see of Johnny foiling gets me motivated to get out on the water and try new things, helping make me the best foiler I can be. Thank you for capturing this clip and sharing it. Ripping choice one the first song too!
Agreed, watching makes me want to be better too! 🤙🏼
Wow!!!!!
What have I just seen?!?

Incredible
🙏🔥🤙🏼
It’s amazing to see what is possible with a wing foil, also i noticed he has his feet on a very wide stance. Larry
Agreed, Johnny is amazing to watch!
Very inspirational Johnny! Thanks for posting Robert.
Glad you enjoyed it Alan! 🙏🤙🏼
Guy can really lay into the power. Blinding footswaps too.

The best 🎉can’t wait my ML700 ❤
I am not worthy...Just amazing
I feel the same way!
Magic, and no crazy inverted jumps so no excuses .
We can wing like this…or at least try :)
Yes we can🤙🏼
Mikeslab 700 foil is amazing 😻 i waiting mine 🤩
2:10 That's a crazily fast jibe😳
Yes!
Someone should teach Johnny that it's possible to wing with the sail downwind of you so you are pulling with your arms instead of pushing. Jk, this dude is incredible.
Very nice video!
NOT a 4K video though.
Yes, unfortunately I only had my iPhone available to shoot this video, so not the best quality.
Nice video !🎉🎉 Maybe one day sponsered by that Dutch beer.. euhh… hope not😅
My friend’s mental image of Johnny Heineken was that of a middle age beer drinker with a beer belly. He was very confused when he saw that Johnny was actually a young, fit guy drinking kombucha, haha 🤙🏼
Have the same question, what gear is he on. Sick flowing transitions, next level 🕶️
Mikes Lab foil and a Ken Adgate board
I added gear in description
I did not know that you could foil like that
Now you know but Johnny is exceptionally good 👍
@@blueplanetsurf Inspiring stuff 👍 All I want to do is foil at the moment
He’s surfing, the wing is an assistant to power up but that’s all. Letting it push him and manipulating it in carves like he does is neat, but it’s led by how he wants to carve the wave - he could just taxi it while carving. Nothing negative, just noticing the flow he’s on is dictating all the action. There are those little bursts where he hauls ass in a burnout of sorts with the wing, but for me the footwork is what’s cool.
Robert, thanks for this video. Johnny is amazing. Could you please comment on his wide stance--much wider than any other riders I've seen. Is this style something that intermediate riders should emulate, or is this only for world champions? More leverage on the board but also harder for foot switches? Thanks!
Good question, I have been thinking about that as well. My take: I think Johnny’s wider stance and also relatively straight legs at high speed carried over from his kite racing experience where a wider stance seems to help control smaller/ faster foils at high speeds vs the narrower stance adopted by many downwind foilers which seems to allow more finesse at controlling somewhat bigger foils at relatively lower speeds. So the type of gear used and speeds reached will have an effect on what style would work better for you.
I put it on half speed, and he still looked fast!
🔥🤙🏼
Yip- that's jonny...
1:49 - That's not a tack. That's a wall hack.
sick tack at 1:45
that was no tack .. that was a Blizz 360 .. anyhow ... impressive
@@christoph4333 OK. I see it now.
Nice swift moves..nice back-winded and foot switch…notice you don’t ride toe-side nor chop-hops…
True that!
The beast of backwind- Crazy MF pumping short upwinders into hacks!
Can I swear .....faaaaarkme
Reeeedonkulus.. 🤯
what length mast does he use?
96, it’s in the description too
The best is when you think you’re ripping, then you see yourself in the background of a Heineken or Kenny video… nope
Haha, yes!
Nobody can like Heineken can.
😂
is this Hood River area?
Yes, close to Hood River
he dont use a back footstrap? interessting when you dont like to jump i think...
Yes you can see him adjusting his back foot position on the fly which you can't do with straps.
prototype aluula Ozone Flux
I love it ! Flux aluula can be a very good wing vs Unit
Thank you Ken, I posted the gear in description
Do you know what wing he is using?
looks like an Aluula Flux
See description for gear used
He has the balance of a cat.
I gybed
Sam Loader - lame duck
Yikes.
Good but always the same tricks
