14:00 you could have played the mox to give the construct +1/+1 so it could block reclaimer. Not sure it it would have made a difference, but it would have slowed the incoming damage at least. Edit: you would have died exactly instead of by 2, do it didn't matter. But it would have made a removal spell an out to live another turn
I watch your videos when I go to sleep, I saw this get uploaded this morning and was so excited for it I almost dropped everything and watched it right then. I was patient and am now excited to see this pop off
glad you put the poxes back in at the end, i was thinking the entire video that that was the card you needed almost every game. a couple thoughtseizes wouldnt hurt either
At 33:32 , I think you should bottom the two lands. That way, any land off the top lets you have 4 mana turn one, and play out your hand. You were probably still losing that game, but I think at 5 its better to go for the riskier higher payoff plays.
After seeing you run into troubles with creatures going wide, I feel like this deck could use a Tabernacle to dredge towards. But I just love Tabernacle so I could be biased
Yeah Tabernacle could be sweet, still doesn't answer the single creature problems the played list has. Could be part of a package with some more edicts.
Hell yeah! I absolutely love legacy pox Its one of if not my single favourite deck (sadly this list doesn't have pox but I forgive it) and I absolutely love the experience of watching you play all variations of it! (How customizable that deck is just makes it so enjoyable) Like everyone you sometimes make mistakes but I don't care, I just love the general vibe you give off while playing that deck. WAAAAAAH!
Totally unrelated to the content but just wanted to say thanks for promoting Cardhoarder. I just sold my MODO collection finally and they gave me a much better price than the competitor I likely would have gone with if not for your sponsorship.
Your assessment of keeping that hand in M1G3 was a correct thought. I would have also been on the keep for the Anvil plan. Drawing another Diamond was big business. It was a solid plan, even in the face of Force of Vigor. Also, "Grist is a still a douchebag" made me laugh a lot hard than it should have, and I appreciate someone else calling Grist as it actually is.
Idea: Black Painter, it's all the normal painter shenanigans but it has 4 turoch 4 hymn and whatever other hand hate you can imagine, plus the fast mana of dark ritual and moxen. Painter paints on white so turoch is protection from the opponents entire deck and then just beat face or you get to do the normal painter win.
add black night and bad moon too and a big old kitchen table some sandwiches some Metallica on and some sodas and your touching on my middle school idea of heaven 😋😀
The best feeling for me in magic is seeing the opponent unable to play magic, as I strip away their last resources while they try to fight back. In other words yeah I love watching you play pox lol.
Apart from commenting for the sake of the algorithm gods, am also here because of Chains of Mephistopheles. That card has caused me more headaches than I would care to admit.
Love the torach tech in these decks, it was a beating against that death and taxes matchup. It just seems really well positioned for black control because it cant be easily dealt with and comes with control elements on kicker.
Since this is basically a Combo deck i was missing Veil of Summer int he Sb which help you to force through your pieces but is also good against literal combo.
I would love to see another league with the updated deck list that you made at the end. It seems like the deck has more game to it if it can deal with some creatures.
I think not running cabal pit is an issue with this deck because it lacks creature removal in terms of spells it could make up by including a land for the job.
what about going more towards a midrange plan, cutting some number of anvils from the main, and running Great creator Karn to grab anvil from the sideboard? that way you only ever have it when you need it and don't accidentally help your opponent too much? Even Scion of Urza might not be too bad as a way to "draw" through the chains lock and add more construct tokens to the board.
The whole deck is running fast mana to get its 'lock' down ASAP. If you play it fairly and plan to get it via karn then you're just playing a slow deck with no interaction, IMO.
@@danielwappner1035 I meant that the more important pieces of the lock are the chains and the discard spells. Anvil is pretty bad before you have those, so why not build your deck such that you can't draw the "bad" half of the lock before you need it? And it would give you the benefit of another small tutor package in the sideboard through Karn.
@@BoshNRoll 3 Hypno and 3 of that new Tourach dude would perhaps make a good beatdown base and just keep a random rack and some control. Maybe have a pivot in sideboard.
@BoshNRolll The volume at the beginning is always a tad loud for how soft spoken and chill the videos are. I doubt you will see/act on this, but turning it down a hair would be greatly appreciated
Me seeing the mtgo art for chains of mephi: "Oh? I thought it was on the reserve list, did it actually get a new printing that's cheap for me to run in commander?" Me after crying at the $1k price tag of the only paper copy: "It's okay... Hullbreacher got shot and chains is soft banned..."
Doesnt chains loop itself so that if an enemy draws their 2nd card they instead discard. And if they discarded they draw a card which would then be the 3rd meaning the discard again etc?
Echo takes both our hands to zero. When you try to draw to an empty hand, Chains makes you mill instead. These draw->mills happen one at a time. The 2nd draw of the 7 off Echo milled Loam. All of my draws this turn have been replaced by mills, so Narset still hasn't kicked in. I dredge Loam off the 3rd draw, now Loam is in my hand. The 4th draw is affected by Chains now that I have a card in hand, I have to discard a card to draw the next one. The only card to discard is Loam. After discarding, Loam is in my graveyard to be dredged again. Repeat that until I dredge 15 cards and untap with loam in hand, never having drawn a card to activate Narset. :)
Struggling with creatures, is the abyss just to narrow and expensive?.. Haven't seen it in legacy probably a decade. Edit: thinking about it. This probably isn't the deck for it playing torrach but it plays well with constructs
I love your content I just wish you would take that picture down of you suffering under the yoke of Amonket that Egyptian looking set you are a conquerer not the conquered.
Watching BoshNRoll playing pox just feels right on so many levels. Tight plays, pure pain inflicted on the opponent, all the good stuff
That Loam + chains play in round 2 was beautiful

Why not add a singular copy of Meekstone to fetch off of the Sagas?
Realy love seing prison and decks that runs people in the dirt. Keep it coming!

"...Pox-aissance"
We are living through the greatest timeline ❤️
I watch all your videos, but there's something about Pox's "nobody has fun" attitude that I especially love!
Oh man and another one of my favourites! You really are spoiling us! Sweet!
The name of the deck itself tickles me in all the right places. Am I evil?
Wait, I don't play FOW. I am not evil.

I hate playing against that…
I LOVE playing it tho.
just commenting to affirm I'm a pox sicko - not many hour long + videos can keep me the whole time but pox leagues do it. Keep up the great work!
23:00 that game was INSANE
Chains!!!! I LOVE THAT CARD. My favourite Legacy Deck, my favourite Legacy youtube. This is gonna be an awesome video. Good content as always Brian.
Apart from commenting for the sake of the algorithm gods, am also here because of Chains of Mephistopheles. That card has caused me more headaches than I would care to admit.
*Whenever I see anything involving dark ritual*
PUT IT IN MY VEINS
except actual combo decks like storm or doomsday. Just give me ritual into a 3 drop straight into my bloodstream please
I mean, I’ll watch any deck you play but Pox and Dark Bant are my favorites and you play them a lot 🤷♂️
Love the torach tech in these decks, it was a beating against that death and taxes matchup. It just seems really well positioned for black control because it cant be easily dealt with and comes with control elements on kicker.
That deck name sure is a mouthful lol
Since this is basically a Combo deck i was missing Veil of Summer int he Sb which help you to force through your pieces but is also good against literal combo.
Well that's a blast from the past
I think last time I saw this deck was around 1998
Where's the hypnotic specters tho?
I would love to see another league with the updated deck list that you made at the end. It seems like the deck has more game to it if it can deal with some creatures.
Hell yes this is awesome
Innocent blood, drop of honey, oko or small pox might help. Replace the baleful mastery.
Obligatory algorithmic contribution
3 Pox videos in 2 weeks? I'm not complaining or anything but y'all are ill.
Yeah we got the pox pox
It's incredibly contagious.
This deck should have a sweeper in it
The Pox infestation has begun
“Grist is still a douche bag” is the single greatest thing I’ve ever heard Brian say
32:09 What the heck is this interaction 😄
The creature problems make me wonder why this isn't running tabernacle.
I think not running cabal pit is an issue with this deck because it lacks creature removal in terms of spells it could make up by including a land for the job.
Yeah Pit is a good call.
Love it!

I have feeling that deck will win in current meta with some edict cards (Innocent blood is actually good)
Yeah, I've played Pox 3 times in the last 2 weeks and the other 2 lists with more removal and less meme were actually good.
To those about Tourach, we salute you!
HOW have I never heard this joke before?
@@BoshNRoll Hymn I don't know.
fav part of the day
Seems like cutting anvil and adding some number of karns to tutor it out when needed would fix some issues.

He said Insaneo Mode!!! At like 17:00

Deck tech with 2chainz when?
I’ll have my people call his people.
why not side out Veil Lilli against Elves ?
We're a deck with mana acceleration. She's really good if she gets active before they're set up.
