rolling metal between two rollers has been done for hundreds of years especially in Italy.I have tried it but my rollers were not large enough. It takes tremendous force to do the same thing as the hammer does. Hammering in a traditional way to prepare the high lead alloy.
@Zumipali2 The metal needs to be as cool as possible to get the right structure. If it is too hot it will crack while cooling down and most of the metal will run off the table.
Organ building seems a wonderful way to earn one´s living. What kind of surface is that to extend the sheet of alloy over? I´m wondering if instead of the noisy hammering, one could rather to tight the sheet between two rollers. What do you think?
It varies, but in most cases organ pipes use some combination of tin and lead. The percentages vary widely, depending on the type of tone desired, as the metal composition (along with countless other factors) affects the tone.

The table is a six inch thick granite covered with nomex cloth.
