This cover is amazing!! Like him or not Varg could write and play killer riffs and songs that are instant classics!! I personally think he might be the most talented song writer in all BM no bullshit!!!

Stian Kvåle I agree with that assessment overall. It’s a great cover but what worked so well with burzum is that you felt the emotion in the raw vocals. I think Hoest has better technique and stronger vocals but this song doesn’t sound sad or desperate it just sounds badass but the original had that feeling

But many bands fell into commercialism, which is not what black metal is about. Black metal was created to break away from the Clean commercialised death metal genre. Varg saved black metal.
