Few times in human history, younger, naive artists, express their understanding of the world around, within and beyond them in the most prolific & groundbreaking manner. Oblivious of the gravity in that inspiration, they simply let the talent go on its own path, grow & evolve as an individual unit. Just like a natural phenomenon that triggers a reaction and then moves towards chaos, decline and regeneration.
I agree completely. I think evidence for that thought is the art itself. Listen to the first two emperor albums Vs the last two. Darkthrone, Satyricon, Abigor, Blut Aus Nord. Perception changes with age an with age comes more experience which leads to more caution on occasion.
Coming to this music after a lifetime of rock and metal, but never hearing this. Amazingly, it still sounds as if it could have been recorded yesterday. Could be a brand-new release, rather than one of the originals. There's definitely something special and magical here. Only the really good stuff ages like this.
Yep, i truly get aggressive when i see "reaction video" suggestions today.. what does it even mean? we had to get it ourselves and then socialized with likeminded people. whats the motive? showing people how they should react and perceive things. how miserable is this even,
@@KingCrimson82 It's the more female mentality of looking to other people to see how they respond to things, looking for approval. and picking up and responding to social pressure. I grew up with heavy metal in the early 80's. I got hold of Bathory, after that, Burzum and Darkthrone. I still listen to Burzum today, close to nature! Burzum kept me afloat!
It's just depressing, if the first four Burzum albums were new, they would be taken to be pushing the genre to its absolute limits. They're so much more diverse than 2000% of black metal since then.
The first sound out of this album gives me goosebumps. I got this on the original marbled vinyl on release when I was 15 and it is safe and well. Best album he made in my opinion.

I've never heard any black metal before. Came here after watching a documentary. But you know what? This is actually pretty good. Maybe even very good. I was expecting it to be un-listenable, but that's not true at all. Clearly some musical talent here.
which documentary?
@@nesageera I remember a film about black metal. Just try something like "documentary about black metal" etc.
Try "Hoth - Passage into Entropy" I don't know why, but when I've read your comment, I've remembered about this song.

Better add names, dates and events to your story, else it is pompous BS.
@@MrFDdude Absolutely agree that it could be perceived as such by the slow-witted.

Yep, this music will never die, always be in, and never age.

Where did the '90's go?! God damn, great time to grow up and experience all the music
a lot of baaaaad music in the 90's kid...
Male mentality is more focussed and patient, seeking out music in the wild like a hunter, thinking outside the box and valuing authenticity.

Classic, best Burzum album
One of the best black metal albums of all times :) Varg is a genius :)
I grew up with heavy metal in the early 80's. I got hold of Bathory, after that, Burzum and Darkthrone. I still listen to Burzum today, close to nature! Burzum kept me afloat!
My brother's been listening to this album nonstop at top volume and now it's stuck in my head.
The first 6 albums definitely have that effect.

It's just depressing, if the first four Burzum albums were new, they would be taken to be pushing the genre to its absolute limits. They're so much more diverse than 2000% of black metal since then.

I definitely listen to this album over a hundred times a year. The first time was in 1998, in K7.
1996 - 14 years old, one of the first cassettes that I bought, it was recorded with ABSU Barathrum Vitriol.... those times when mom and dad gave me coins to snacks to the school and I saved them to these masterpieces and the only Metal magazine in black and white (always 1000 copies in my country).
That's awesome!
At least you were spending those few coins with really great music! I remember myself that I was doing just the same thing as you as a kid! but back in the seventies! just to get me some of the "KISS" albums! that were around then! just because at that time I really thought that there really wasn't any other better music around! but it's still good to see how at least some few things in the world have changed! for good! and even for much better! fortunately! now that I'm around 60!👍

The rumor I heard is that Varg actually lit his hair on fire and doused himself with kerosene before each verse, which he sang outside beneath a rain-water catch shower to extinguish himself before he succumbed to the flames, but he never checked the level of water before beginning the process just to make sure he had his edge on.
