- A triple line up of Royal Scot named locos/rolling stock would have been nice! See the Loco Change for the Saphos worked 'The Christmas White Rose' as 90001 makes way for 46100 to head the service onwards over the Pennines to York.
Whilst 46100 was awaiting departure from platform 12 - Avanti Pendolino 390044 is seen leaving platform 11 headed to Lime Street. This unit is named Royal Scot and carries the signature motif on each cab end also. The footage for the first part of this clip was out of focus due to a rain drop (yet more rain!) so apologies only half of this is showing.
Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching.

Now when’s a steam loco coming down the midland main line to St Pancras
The coincidence that it was the Royal Scot Pendolino too being there
2 out of 3 ain't bad
Wasnt that the Pendolino that just missed out on the London/Glasgow time run a few years back
Excellent video 👍
Getting them tonight
thats a claggy steam train lol 😆 nice video at crewe!
😅
why is there so much cylinder steam, you can't see anything from it, and you don't need it!
Seems to be something WCR and LSL do. Possibly to give the passengers an nostalgic feel of being pulled by a steam loco. Something the heritage railways tend not to do.
It's probably less expensive than blowing the end of the cylinder off
@@johnclarke2997do you understand what drain cocks are for?
You need it to make it move
@@markknight1011You don’t always need to open the cylinder cocks to start moving, they’re only used when water builds up in the cylinder heads when not moving for long periods of time
