Man, I love transmetal Primal and Megatron. The “vehicle” modes are so incredibly dumb that they’re endearing. I really want reissues of them and Lio Convoy. Those three figures are my grails of transformers collecting.
@@PerspectiveEnd Quickstrike is one of the instances where I wish they went more with his toy bio rather than how he acted in the show. I liked his trigger happy personality, but they didn’t give him all too much respect. A shame too, as he is one of my favorite Fuzor designs.

The TFA toy designers worked really closely with the character designers to the point where toys had quite accurate transformations to what was seen on screen 2. I perfer the regular version of the Beast Wars characters, though I’ve had way less exposure the Transmetals versions of the designs That’s about it from me for this comment
I did point out Transformers Animated was designed as a show first then the toys came. I do think the original designs were better, though as a kid the Transmetals BLEW MY GOD DAMNED MIND.
The season 1 designs are cool but the transmetals look even cooler, my favourites would probably be rattrap, blackarachnia, optimal Optimus and dragon megatron
Personally I despise the TM2 Blackarachnia, she looks exactly like a girl I've known my entire life, and it's weird. And I mean EXACTLY. It's like they scanned her head and hair in for the show.

WFC is actually a rare modern case of where the toys were made before the show and the show was based on those toys(for the most part). Ever since the 2007 movie and animated every transformer show has actually designed the characters models in the show and then have toys based on them except for the prime wars trilogy shows and WFC shows.
I think it's still consistently this way. Cybervers was kind of a half way point where they were allowed to make them better for the show. Rescue bots was that way, I think much of prime was done that way as well.
Adding this to the wishlist! Seasons 2 and 3 have always stuck with me far more than season 1 has, so I doubt Hasbro'll give the transmetals the love they deserve. And it's surprising how much he sticks to the OG's transformation! Hopefully we can get an Apelinq outta him!
Parts of all the seasons stick with me but mostly Season 1 is the one I remember. Season 3 is the one I forget for the most part to the point where 6 or so years ago when I rewatched the show for the first time in a while I forgot Depthcharge existed till he finally showed up.
I have soft spot for Transmetals because they were the one year of Beast Wars where I almost owned 100% of the toyline at one point, including all of the show characters. And even back then as a kid I loved that they looked liked what I saw on TV.
Wow i didn't know they had to redo the entire character designs for season 1. Thats really cool to know. Beast wars was my true introduction to transformers as a kid and nothing made me more happy then knowing thr beast wars cast was coming back for the netflix show (then nothing made me sadder then seeing how netflix basicically shat all over their lore). Please do a review of the netflix series. Id love to hear your opinion. Also did anyone else absolutely hate how transmetal brought back dinobot? It just felt like it kinda took away from the impact of the character's sacrafice just so they could sell a new dinobot toy (naturally i did get the toy as a kid though lolol)
Even though most of the original toys for Beast Wars weren’t accurate, I still think the OG Megatron looks near perfect (compared to the other figures at the time). With some paint aps and proportional improvements, he could definitely look better than the kingdom one (but the kingdom would still obviously be superior).
I remember having the original figure. I remember making myself so confused when I realized I hated TM Primal in the show, but loved the the toy. Transmetal toys were amazing, Megatron and Rampage were my favorites, so much so that they disintegrated, lost limbs, or disappeared altogether due to constant play.
Nah, TM Megs is notoriously weak. He pulled a Darth Maul on me one day, completely out of the blue. Made me very sad as he was, indeed, and incredible figure. TM Primal was another one of my faves.and you’re right on the money with Protoform X. That toy was perhaps the very pinnacle of the Beast Wars line. My fave Beast Wars figures are probably -Rampage, TM2 Megs, TM Megs, TM Primal, TM RatTrap, TM Cheetor, TM2 BlackArachnia, TM2 Optimus Minor, QuickStrike, and arguably Tigerhawk. S/he was awesome to look at but really suffered from top heavy design and minimal pose-ability. Oh, and of course TM Tarantulas. He was my very first TF toy (other than a 2 pack of G2 Dinobots when I was like 5) and he will always have a place in my cold, dead heart.
I do not know that I'd call the Rampage the pinnacle of Beast Wars figures. I loved the character and I wanted to like that figure so much, but i just couldn't. My favorite was always the Dinobot, but the Original Primal toy was sick too. Tarantulas was Awesome.
@@PerspectiveEnd I really love the complexity of the transformation. The great paint job. The tons of gimmicks. The giant, articulated claws. The articulated legs. The badass tank mode with WORKING TREADS! The head sculpt! Okay, so yeah. He was totally out of scale. And he had a massive backpack. But dayumn was he cool. The original Dinobot was your favorite? That was a good toy. Definitely one of the best early toys. I never got the OG Primal toy.
One thing I noticed is any characters that were once protoforms like tigertron blackArachnia and airrazor so the only ones that were effected were ones that were already online at the start of the show
The clear plastic is meant to homage the original Japanese release of transmetal primal. There's a reissue of the Transart one that has solid plastic too.
Someone else pointed that out to me, I really wish they would mark this as being the special version. There was nothing about the packaging that told me it was going to be the clear version.
It's based on the Takara version of the original toy. The original Takara was cast in the translucent plastic. The first release of skateboard gorilla was based on the Hasbro release. Also super light

Transmetal Primal (aka Primal through Season 2 and [The Agenda 4:] Optimal Situation) is a great design. I wish Hasbro and Takara would tackle it again one of these days, but this will do. What's the pricing?
To me it doesn't matter how much translucent plastic it has, if it is used on joints or important connectors it will break giving it time. The whole scratched and breaking window of cars could easily be solved by just having a painted window, that's one of the only things that I have to give to the Combiner Wars figures
I have more confidence in clear plastic, I've had many figures that have lasted to this very day with clear plastic, and I've had one's made of solid plastic that broke in days. It really just matters how the material is used and how much care they put in.
Ive always been mixed on transmetals, at least the ones that are upgraded forms of the old characters, the new transmetals rampage and deapth charge always looked cool
this figure is an enigma of things that shouldn't work almost the whole body being clear plastic which should mean he's a ticking time bomb, excessive use of chrome which from what I know tends to chip very often, and the colours being very off with the show model not being that kind of magenta the fact that it works in spite of these factors is a miracle of the highest caliber
I think the colors are pretty on point. Really the biggest problems with the thing I have are the things on the knees that like to fall off and, the hands.

@9:30 TransArts isn't the only 3P company known for making Transmetal MP scaled toys. Jiangxing is a 3P company that makes MP scaled Transmetal 2 toys. *JX-MB-01 Winged Dragon (Megatron), JX-MB-01B Cold Dragon (RID Cryotek), and their upcoming JX-MB-02 TygaEagle (Tigerhawk).
This is true to an extend, but the thing is it's really only the third form of the leaders that tend to get figures. Also those are all Transmetal 2 characters. Toyworld did make a TM1 Megatron, though by all accounts it was terrible.
@@PerspectiveEnd All I'm saying is two 3P companies are making MP scaled Transmetals toys (one mainly focuses on Transmetal and the other focuses on Transmetal 2), so if you bought from both, you'll be able to complete your MP Transmetals collection faster.

I wish there was a cool what if style comic series for transformers, imagine all the cool one off stories, like what if terrasaur and scorpanok never died or what if Optimus did die in prime, or what if megatron stay dead in transformers prime, I mean why haven’t they done something Like that, it would be so cool and could provide some potential generations selects figures.

Too many comments to search through. It's no one else said it, the transclarent plastic was something they did for the reissue/second run. I have one on its was from China now, and I'm eagerly anticipating it. The Cheetor one is on my list to get next.
One other person did, but normally there'd have been like 200 so it's actually been kind of nice. And I forgot to say during the video, I scoured the box to see if this was like a special edition or something to explain the plastic, so it's nice to find out that it's not just what they did originally. And thank you, don't feel bad I'd already heard this, it was only once before, so it's fine that you didn't go searching for it cause that would have been a quest.

My rodimus prime figure arrived today. The figure is amazing, but getting the wheels into the legs. This part feels so clashy and I'm worried about it will break. Besides that flaw, the figure was amazing!!!!!
….I never knew the show made figure-accurate character models and then threw them out. Is there footage of that original version? Or just the clips you showed?
There are more clips than I've shown, but they never made it to full animation. They realized in the test Animations how ugly they were so before the show went into real production they convinced Hasbro to let them trash em. So if you look around the web, you can find a few more test animations but nothing much different than what I've shown, just a few other characters.
I'm glad that you are excited for it, but I personally the only version of the character I like is the IDW one, so I'm not really interested in it, especially at such a brutal price point for a chug figure. I wish I had something more interesting to say about it.
Can I pick neither? Actually I'd take the Planet X because that's the IDW version, and I actually like him. He's such a BASTARD and he killed characters I like, so he is someone I love to hate.

That was not Pushing the envelope, by the time Prime came out CGI was the Cheapest easiest form of animation, and as someone with a Degree in animation I can tell you that was pretty Cheap CGI.

I own a few transmetal figures and I think they can easily make upgrades, they usually lack a good bit of articulation and a lot of those toy heads are just ultra 90's
Is this a rerelease? Because my version is not made of clear purple plastic, but solid brown. Plus mine doesn't have any of the issues with the smaller parts popping off.
Yes this is the recent reprint which I hear is made out of a clear plastic to mimic the Takara release of the Original figure. For some reason that is not marked anywhere on the box, or the online stores.
Interesting. Seems you got the clear plastic reissue version TransArt released after their initial batch sold out because my version of this character is 100% opaque save for the clear fire blast effects. An interesting choice from the manufacturer but if having a figure made out of clear plastic was something they needed to do to get in more people's hands, I can accept that. Edit: all of a sudden I remembered that the choice of transluscent maroon for the body might've been an intentional choice as, according to the TF Wiki, the original Takara version of Transmetal Primal had transluscent plastic where the Hasbro version had solid brown.
Yeah apparently this is based on the Japanese version of the Primal toy from Beast Wars. There is no indication anywhere on the box or marketing saying that's what it is. Ahh yeah, you know the story already.
Technically, the first show accurate s1 Optimus Primal toy isn't the Masterpiece one, because there was a convention exclusive Optimus Primal toy that was a retool of the original toy, but with show accurate heads and color scheme.
Not my cup of tea design, my personal favourite always be Optimal and his original design. But hey at least it's still much better than Beast Machine. Anyway, this figure is really great, kinda surprised they use magenta clear plastic for his body.
I never liked the Transmetals 1 I rather the original designs, except to Tarantulas and Black Arachnia! Loved those 2. I always liked the Trasnmetal 2 designs much more. Now, even though I dislike the models, this figure is impressively good... I don´t like neither the robot or the Money Feet. But overall it looks so nice! I´m impressed!
Oh man I hated Blackarachnia's she looked EXACTLY like a girl I've known since I was like 3. But Tarantulas was probably the best Transmetal design in the show, though Megatron gave him some competition. Also Blackarachnia was a Transmetal 2. Yeah the monkey feet aren't the best.
I think you have version 2 of this figure. Version 1 doesn't have the clear plastic on the body. Otherwise, this is such a refreshing figure. It's masterpiece scaled, but with simple transformation. I was hoping Transart would do TM Megatron, but they decided to do another Optimal Optimus that's too small to scale with the JX Dragon Megatron.
Ok! I wanted to mention this but I totally forgot to in the video. When I got it, I scoured the box for any indication that it was like a "Special Edition" or something cause the clear plastic was so strange. So it is something they didn't do on all the versions huh?
@@PerspectiveEnd You got this very recently, right? If you check out some of the other reviews, you can see the plastic is different, and the gold on the chest is slightly different. So right now, I think you're the only person to have a review of version 2.
Apparently that's something that was done when they went back in print with this thing. They didn't announce any changes, they just put it out there and pretended nothing had changed.

Actually from what I hear it's a Reference to the Original Japanese Release of the OG Beast Wars toy. Apparently the Japanese version was made of clear plastic back in the day.
I appreciate that this company is making Beast Wars characters, but there is not much you can do to improve the original Transmetal Optimus Prime figure. Which I fortunately do own.

No. It's been on Pre-order for months now but it's never come in. And what with Transmetal 2 Megtron being on the way I can see them covering the rest of the characters leading up to that.

The problem with that, is I'd have to buy them, and they don't fit my collection so I don't want them, I'm sure the later ones are better, they look better, but I'd have to run out of stuff to do most likely before I started doing those.
Yeah they tried having it be that some characters were more shielded than others, like the guys in the CR Chambers, but they forgot to do like half the cast.

And as for the question of the video.... Since we are on the topic of transmetal's, what do you think about one that preaty much created the term, "shellwarmer" aka Transmetal Inferno/ BW Scavenger.
Well the notion when the creators came up with it was that it was animals with Vehicle modes. I just tend to refer to them as mobility upgrades, but Vehicle modes is easy to say. I actually had the BW Scavenger as a Kid, I don't think it's the figure that coined the term Shelfwarmer, but it it's famously one. I liked it, though the lack of hands bugged me.

While I also find chrome pretty, it kind of circles to my complaint of paint chipping being inevitable compared to just casing it in different colors or textures Also weirdly I feel it the same way you feel about diecast lol, that it gives fake quality like my eyes seeing Metal but my hand feeling plastic is just weird to me lmao
The difference is Chrome is pretty. I would also argue that if the chrome is done well and you treat it well it won't chip. Arguing that it can be damaged so it's not valuable can be said of literally anything.
@@PerspectiveEnd i feel like chipping on any kind of paint is inevitable so it being expensive paint only frustrates me more like at least with acrylics i can just reapply it and itd last me a good 1 or 3 months cause i like playing with my toys and bringing them to my work desk. Given the choice and infinite budget though, lustrous paint is better than chromed anyday of the week. FYI, its paint that when hit by UV light(blacklights) glows by itself for a few hours. Plus its chemically safe.
Yeah, I did like the Transmetal gorilla mode, but I was never a fan of Transmetal Optimus’s robot head. It always felt more like an organic Ultra Magnus to me. What can I say? I was a sucker for Optimus Primal’s season 1 head design, alongside with his Transmetal 2 head design. It just felt more Optimus-like than his head from Transmetal 1.
@@PerspectiveEnd Of course, easily, Optimus Primal’s worst head design was from Beast Machines. I have no idea why they wanted their robots modes to look like they’re beast modes became anthropomorphic. I mean Optimus in his robot mode just looked like a more human gorilla. Their Beast modes looked cool, but I always found the robot modes in Beast Machines to be bland. Though, despite his unpopularity, I did like the design for Nightscream. It did seem they tried a bit more with him in the looks department.
Still haven't watched it yet. I've not finished the first season yet. I think I'm two episodes from the end of S1. But I have such limited time, and every time I try to watch it, Season 1 chases me away.

Honestly I like the animal forms more then the transmetal forms. I get the entire reason is metal animals and the animation of beast wars was crazy for the time but they look way to clunky to me.
I don't really know anything about transformers metal but the beast mode reminds me of the Vintage Marvel Shape Shifters X Men Apocalypse transformers toy, I think its just all the crome blue but still is pretty
@@benzmin6718 Weirdly enough you can find it to watch on Daily Motion and it's the only HD source of the show I think that exists period. I've been trying for years to track down any version that looks half as good as the one on Dailymotion and just cant.

I just don't see much of a point to it. It makes a figure heavier just to be heavier usually, it doesn't mean anything. The figure is not over all more durable. It's just got some extra heavy parts. I believe I talked about it in the TE Scorponok Review.
Transmetals were underutilized in Beast Wars imo. Many characters had a Transmetal variant that didn’t appear in the show. Rhinox had one, Air Razor, Even Waspinator could turn into a Transmetal jet. I am wondering though, how did Depth Charge(and Rampage now that I think about it)become a Transmetal if he wasn’t caught in the energy surge?
It would be really interesting to hear how you talk normally. I know you didn’t speed up the audio in your earlier videos, but I have a feeling you talked slower than normal in those.
Indeed I did, I'm very bad reading a script and that was my first time really doing it so it was just causing my brain to fall out of my head. You can slow the video down to .75% speed, it doesn't distort it all that much and it does get me pretty close to regular speed. On the regular videos that will result in me talking 112% normal speed, and on the QNA or Thousand Sub Specials it will result in me talking at 97% of the actual speed.
This is the toy that caused my first fight with my little brother we both got one for Christmas but he lived with my grandma and we didn't know we both got them so when i went to my grandmas house and was playing with my new optimus my brother freaked out and tried to take it from me my grandma did take it from me because she bought my brothers i cried it was my Christmas gift an hour later my brother found his in his room my grandma felt bad for taking mine
Transmetal in my opinion are the only the figures that can pull off heavy chrome successfully, they look absolutely gorgeous

I have soft spot for Transmetals because they were the one year of Beast Wars where I almost owned 100% of the toyline at one point, including all of the show characters. And even back then as a kid I loved that they looked liked what I saw on TV.
Wow i didn't know they had to redo the entire character designs for season 1. Thats really cool to know. Beast wars was my true introduction to transformers as a kid and nothing made me more happy then knowing thr beast wars cast was coming back for the netflix show (then nothing made me sadder then seeing how netflix basicically shat all over their lore). Please do a review of the netflix series. Id love to hear your opinion.
Also did anyone else absolutely hate how transmetal brought back dinobot? It just felt like it kinda took away from the impact of the character's sacrafice just so they could sell a new dinobot toy (naturally i did get the toy as a kid though lolol)

I did think it was weak but it wasn't Dinobot but his clone.
Even though most of the original toys for Beast Wars weren’t accurate, I still think the OG Megatron looks near perfect (compared to the other figures at the time). With some paint aps and proportional improvements, he could definitely look better than the kingdom one (but the kingdom would still obviously be superior).
Yes the OG Megatron was probably one of the most accurate Beast Wars toys.
I remember having the original figure. I remember making myself so confused when I realized I hated TM Primal in the show, but loved the the toy. Transmetal toys were amazing, Megatron and Rampage were my favorites, so much so that they disintegrated, lost limbs, or disappeared altogether due to constant play.
Nah, TM Megs is notoriously weak. He pulled a Darth Maul on me one day, completely out of the blue. Made me very sad as he was, indeed, and incredible figure. TM Primal was another one of my faves.and you’re right on the money with Protoform X. That toy was perhaps the very pinnacle of the Beast Wars line.
My fave Beast Wars figures are probably -Rampage, TM2 Megs, TM Megs, TM Primal, TM RatTrap, TM Cheetor, TM2 BlackArachnia, TM2 Optimus Minor, QuickStrike, and arguably Tigerhawk. S/he was awesome to look at but really suffered from top heavy design and minimal pose-ability.
Oh, and of course TM Tarantulas. He was my very first TF toy (other than a 2 pack of G2 Dinobots when I was like 5) and he will always have a place in my cold, dead heart.
I think Rampage just denigrated because Rubber Tracks you had to stretch your self were a bad idea.
I do not know that I'd call the Rampage the pinnacle of Beast Wars figures. I loved the character and I wanted to like that figure so much, but i just couldn't.
My favorite was always the Dinobot, but the Original Primal toy was sick too.
Tarantulas was Awesome.

The badass tank mode with WORKING TREADS! The head sculpt! Okay, so yeah. He was totally out of scale. And he had a massive backpack. But dayumn was he cool. The original Dinobot was your favorite? That was a good toy. Definitely one of the best early toys. I never got the OG Primal toy.
I hope we get a few Transmetals in Legacy, I really like the designs besides Blackarachnia and Tarantulas.
I like Trarantulas's Transmetal form, but Blackarachnia's is AWFUL.

One thing I noticed is any characters that were once protoforms like tigertron blackArachnia and airrazor so the only ones that were effected were ones that were already online at the start of the show
The clear plastic is meant to homage the original Japanese release of transmetal primal. There's a reissue of the Transart one that has solid plastic too.
Someone else pointed that out to me, I really wish they would mark this as being the special version.
There was nothing about the packaging that told me it was going to be the clear version.
It's based on the Takara version of the original toy. The original Takara was cast in the translucent plastic. The first release of skateboard gorilla was based on the Hasbro release. Also super light

Transmetal Primal (aka Primal through Season 2 and [The Agenda 4:] Optimal Situation) is a great design. I wish Hasbro and Takara would tackle it again one of these days, but this will do.

This thing was 80 bucks or so brand new from a regular online retailer.
To me it doesn't matter how much translucent plastic it has, if it is used on joints or important connectors it will break giving it time. The whole scratched and breaking window of cars could easily be solved by just having a painted window, that's one of the only things that I have to give to the Combiner Wars figures
I have more confidence in clear plastic, I've had many figures that have lasted to this very day with clear plastic, and I've had one's made of solid plastic that broke in days.
It really just matters how the material is used and how much care they put in.
Ive always been mixed on transmetals, at least the ones that are upgraded forms of the old characters, the new transmetals rampage and deapth charge always looked cool

this figure is an enigma of things that shouldn't work
almost the whole body being clear plastic which should mean he's a ticking time bomb, excessive use of chrome which from what I know tends to chip very often, and the colours being very off with the show model not being that kind of magenta
the fact that it works in spite of these factors is a miracle of the highest caliber
I think the colors are pretty on point. Really the biggest problems with the thing I have are the things on the knees that like to fall off and, the hands.

@9:30 TransArts isn't the only 3P company known for making Transmetal MP scaled toys. Jiangxing is a 3P company that makes MP scaled Transmetal 2 toys. *JX-MB-01 Winged Dragon (Megatron), JX-MB-01B Cold Dragon (RID Cryotek), and their upcoming JX-MB-02 TygaEagle (Tigerhawk).
This is true to an extend, but the thing is it's really only the third form of the leaders that tend to get figures.
Also those are all Transmetal 2 characters.
Toyworld did make a TM1 Megatron, though by all accounts it was terrible.

I have one on its was from China now, and I'm eagerly anticipating it. The Cheetor one is on my list to get next.

And I forgot to say during the video, I scoured the box to see if this was like a special edition or something to explain the plastic, so it's nice to find out that it's not just what they did originally.

My rodimus prime figure arrived today. The figure is amazing, but getting the wheels into the legs. This part feels so clashy and I'm worried about it will break. Besides that flaw, the figure was amazing!!!!!

There are more clips than I've shown, but they never made it to full animation. They realized in the test Animations how ugly they were so before the show went into real production they convinced Hasbro to let them trash em.
So if you look around the web, you can find a few more test animations but nothing much different than what I've shown, just a few other characters.

Yes this is the recent reprint which I hear is made out of a clear plastic to mimic the Takara release of the Original figure.

Seems you got the clear plastic reissue version TransArt released after their initial batch sold out because my version of this character is 100% opaque save for the clear fire blast effects. An interesting choice from the manufacturer but if having a figure made out of clear plastic was something they needed to do to get in more people's hands, I can accept that.
Edit: all of a sudden I remembered that the choice of transluscent maroon for the body might've been an intentional choice as, according to the TF Wiki, the original Takara version of Transmetal Primal had transluscent plastic where the Hasbro version had solid brown.
Yeah apparently this is based on the Japanese version of the Primal toy from Beast Wars. There is no indication anywhere on the box or marketing saying that's what it is.

Technically, the first show accurate s1 Optimus Primal toy isn't the Masterpiece one, because there was a convention exclusive Optimus Primal toy that was a retool of the original toy, but with show accurate heads and color scheme.

Not my cup of tea design, my personal favourite always be Optimal and his original design. But hey at least it's still much better than Beast Machine. Anyway, this figure is really great, kinda surprised they use magenta clear plastic for his body.
I will say that this is totally a downgrade from the normal one, but I still love the Chrome.
And yes this is better than beast machines.
I never liked the Transmetals 1 I rather the original designs, except to Tarantulas and Black Arachnia! Loved those 2. I always liked the Trasnmetal 2 designs much more. Now, even though I dislike the models, this figure is impressively good... I don´t like neither the robot or the Money Feet. But overall it looks so nice! I´m impressed!
Oh man I hated Blackarachnia's she looked EXACTLY like a girl I've known since I was like 3. But Tarantulas was probably the best Transmetal design in the show, though Megatron gave him some competition.

I think you have version 2 of this figure. Version 1 doesn't have the clear plastic on the body. Otherwise, this is such a refreshing figure. It's masterpiece scaled, but with simple transformation.
I was hoping Transart would do TM Megatron, but they decided to do another Optimal Optimus that's too small to scale with the JX Dragon Megatron.
Ok! I wanted to mention this but I totally forgot to in the video. When I got it, I scoured the box for any indication that it was like a "Special Edition" or something cause the clear plastic was so strange.

Actually from what I hear it's a Reference to the Original Japanese Release of the OG Beast Wars toy. Apparently the Japanese version was made of clear plastic back in the day.
I appreciate that this company is making Beast Wars characters, but there is not much you can do to improve the original Transmetal Optimus Prime figure. Which I fortunately do own.

Since we are on the topic of transmetal's, what do you think about one that preaty much created the term, "shellwarmer" aka Transmetal Inferno/ BW Scavenger.
Well the notion when the creators came up with it was that it was animals with Vehicle modes. I just tend to refer to them as mobility upgrades, but Vehicle modes is easy to say.
I actually had the BW Scavenger as a Kid, I don't think it's the figure that coined the term Shelfwarmer, but it it's famously one.
I liked it, though the lack of hands bugged me.

While I also find chrome pretty, it kind of circles to my complaint of paint chipping being inevitable compared to just casing it in different colors or textures
Also weirdly I feel it the same way you feel about diecast lol, that it gives fake quality like my eyes seeing Metal but my hand feeling plastic is just weird to me lmao
The difference is Chrome is pretty.
I would also argue that if the chrome is done well and you treat it well it won't chip.
Arguing that it can be damaged so it's not valuable can be said of literally anything.

i feel like chipping on any kind of paint is inevitable so it being expensive paint only frustrates me more like at least with acrylics i can just reapply it and itd last me a good 1 or 3 months cause i like playing with my toys and bringing them to my work desk. Given the choice and infinite budget though, lustrous paint is better than chromed anyday of the week. FYI, its paint that when hit by UV light(blacklights) glows by itself for a few hours. Plus its chemically safe.
Yeah, I did like the Transmetal gorilla mode, but I was never a fan of Transmetal Optimus’s robot head. It always felt more like an organic Ultra Magnus to me. What can I say? I was a sucker for Optimus Primal’s season 1 head design, alongside with his Transmetal 2 head design. It just felt more Optimus-like than his head from Transmetal 1.
You know what I can totally see what you mean by Ultra Magnus Head. And yeah I do think his S1 robot head was way better.
@@PerspectiveEnd Of course, easily, Optimus Primal’s worst head design was from Beast Machines. I have no idea why they wanted their robots modes to look like they’re beast modes became anthropomorphic. I mean Optimus in his robot mode just looked like a more human gorilla. Their Beast modes looked cool, but I always found the robot modes in Beast Machines to be bland. Though, despite his unpopularity, I did like the design for Nightscream. It did seem they tried a bit more with him in the looks department.

I had two or maybe three different Transmetal Airazors.
I was going with show characters, but yes I do remember that. Rhinox's Transmetal figure I remember being one of the least inspiring.

Honestly I like the animal forms more then the transmetal forms. I get the entire reason is metal animals and the animation of beast wars was crazy for the time but they look way to clunky to me.
I get why, alot of the Transmetal forms weren't as good as their originals, but man I can't argue with the chrome.
Imagine if megatron did the same thing and decided to be a t rex on a hoverboard

I don't really know anything about transformers metal but the beast mode reminds me of the Vintage Marvel Shape Shifters X Men Apocalypse transformers toy, I think its just all the crome blue but still is pretty

I've been trying for years to track down any version that looks half as good as the one on Dailymotion and just cant.

Very reasonable for an MP styled figure, but I understand if that's still too much for many people to be interested.
Also, before I go looking into your backlog, why do you not like die cast?
I just don't see much of a point to it. It makes a figure heavier just to be heavier usually, it doesn't mean anything. The figure is not over all more durable. It's just got some extra heavy parts.

Transmetals were underutilized in Beast Wars imo. Many characters had a Transmetal variant that didn’t appear in the show. Rhinox had one, Air Razor, Even Waspinator could turn into a Transmetal jet. I am wondering though, how did Depth Charge(and Rampage now that I think about it)become a Transmetal if he wasn’t caught in the energy surge?
Yeah it's funny how Depthcharge got a form that he wasn't present to acquire, but characters who I wish got one didnt.

It would be really interesting to hear how you talk normally. I know you didn’t speed up the audio in your earlier videos, but I have a feeling you talked slower than normal in those.
Indeed I did, I'm very bad reading a script and that was my first time really doing it so it was just causing my brain to fall out of my head.
You can slow the video down to .75% speed, it doesn't distort it all that much and it does get me pretty close to regular speed. On the regular videos that will result in me talking 112% normal speed, and on the QNA or Thousand Sub Specials it will result in me talking at 97% of the actual speed.

I know that this is an Unmarked repaint of one that doesn't have the clear plastic. I do not know if it's more brown.
This is the toy that caused my first fight with my little brother we both got one for Christmas but he lived with my grandma and we didn't know we both got them so when i went to my grandmas house and was playing with my new optimus my brother freaked out and tried to take it from me my grandma did take it from me because she bought my brothers i cried it was my Christmas gift an hour later my brother found his in his room my grandma felt bad for taking mine
